I heard only about SONM according to this list. I don't consider it a hidden gem. What is really hidden gem is Pundix, I love these guys. After buy back announce, tokens rushed into top 100 coinmarketcap
For me they are:

I still have a big bag of XVG but I'm thinking of selling all and put it in these projects... Any - serious - advice?

Who is to define bearish market and when is it better?
I agree, Kucoin is a Gold mine for hidden gems with a low marketcap, especially during a bull run
There is a lot of cheap token at the kucoin, you can compare their prices with their's january price and you will see there is big difference, so if you can find good hidden gems at kucoin, you can do x5 x10 fastly.
For me Tron, Siacoin, Dragon are few of the hidden gem for this year and Tron already launched I am waiting for Sia and Dragon to explode I've been bagging these coins for couple of months already.

Oyster pearl is a must, but oyster shell? It makes no sense, it is like a copycat, it sounds like a new fork. LMAO.
It is full of gems, take a look over Dragonchain, i am sure that it will be worth over $10 during the next year.

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.
I was asking myself what to do when cryptocurrency goes down and found out that the most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.
The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.
I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

If you are looking for good profit in the future you must first look at the MarketCap and Total number of coins. A coin with large coin supply (billions) can't grow very much in the future, not even 1$.
My choice: Masari.
It's a Monero fork, good relationshionship with Monero, only 18.5 millions total coin supply and it's still early, only 9000 sats on SouthXchange and Tradeogre.
If you count that Masari uses a weighted harmonic mean difficulty adjustment algorithm for smoother difficulty adjustment, fantastic dev which has been PR'd back to Monero you already have a kick-ass coin. It also has only ever used RingCT, has a fixed ring size of 13, and they plan on adding uncle mining and researching block tree sharding.
Fork and rebase with a lot of new features is scheduled for 1 May.

Iota is very controversial indeed. I think it´s an exciting techology and projects like Oyster Protcol or TheUnchainedBlock make use of the Iota tangle. Most critics complain about the wallet that is not perfect yet...I call that a minor thing.
I've noticed a few people on here mention iota on this thread. I've also listened to some really intelligent people make cases for and against. My initial reaction was that it was a very interesting take on a blockchain but using the tangle network. My question regarding iota is are the double spend and lack of security allegations true and secondly could this be due to the tech being in its infancy and can it not iron out these issues and become one of the fastest performing cryptos

Being conservative something like ICX or ZRX will surely do pretty good, but if you are looking fore 100x-1000x, things get more risky haha.
If I had to bet on best performance of 2018, I would say Fusion. Currently with a Market Cap of $67M, if the team delivers and the succeed on landing good partnerships, I see this coin at top 10 by the end of 2018. HUGE potential IMHO. Also, hoping the whole cryptocurrency market cap does a 10x, which is possible, then FSN could do a x1000. I'm gonna hold this baby to the moon, between other projects of course. Wait for the internet of values to meet crypto finance, we are talking next ETH here.
