It can never be a good combo, gaming is so easier to understand which is why I believe that this will be big in the next bull market, but a cheaper network will be the best for gaming on the block chain, many people will swim into gaming if the transaction fee is dirt cheap, and we know that Bitcoin isn't fair on the transaction fee side, this is why I believe its a bad combo.

Also gaming needs a special network, I don't think Bitcoin can offer that, few that I know are more than just the gaming side, to bring together all developers and gamers require integration with web3 features, something that's not available in Bitcoin, there is also AI side to gaming, this makes the work easier for game builders.

Bitcoin is truly old for this, the present of the cutting edge technology needed is not available, the tools and SDK required for developers is absence in Bitcoin, so this is case closed, it's something that can never work out.

A single service, Satoshi Dice becomes responsible for over half the transaction volume on the Bitcoin blockchain. It happened on May 8 2012, Bitcoin Wiki noted this domination of Satoshi Dice on Bitcoin blockchain in 2012.

Do you think SatoshiDice is blockchain spam? Drop their TX's - Solution inside.

Looks to be nearly similar question against Ordinals in 2023 and 2024.

Most crypto games projects don't involve Bitcoin itself, rather they tend to use their self launched cryptocurrencies for each respective game or any other altcoin which was created for this purpose, what is really a dumb idea, since Bitcoin could be introduced to 'play to earn games' as middle of payment.

The only games I found to pay in BTC are mobile arcade classical games, and they pay dust of BTC. The time you spend on them just doesn't worth the received rewards. Another option is to complete offers at offer-wall at any Bitcoin's portal, such as Cointiply, where you can download games' apps, complete determined tasks on them and then be paid by Cointiply for that. It's not great either, but depending the tasks and payrates you might be able to make few dollars after some days...

In practice it's not so impressive and exciting like you make it look on your post.

There are also plenty of crypto games around. I can't complain at all, since I managed to make decent profit from Axie Infinity before they introduced an update where rewards were paid only to PvP matches, and its following decay. MIR4 was also great, for a while. Lost Relics was a good game, as it was pleasant to play, although I didn't make any profit from it. Ni No Kuni was a deception, after so much grinding for nothing.

The point we would like crypto gaming to reach hasn't happened yet. Developers worry too much about profits, and forget about creating an enjoyable content for gamers.

From blockchain-based games to earning BTC while conquering virtual worlds, the possibilities are endless. 🌐💰

The possibilities might be endless but the reality is that blockchain games have tiny playerbases and most of them are just poor people trying to make money, which is not a profitable model. And it has been pretty clear that the gaming community is not intrested in crypto - look at online reactions on reddit or twitter when some company tried to add NFTs to their games - it was always met with overwhelming negativity.

I've never really dwelled in cryptocurrency games but I know that some of the projects have been pretty successful in the industry, the most prominent being Axie Infinity, The Sandbox, and Roblox. Now there are hundreds of cryptocurrency games and such projects in the GameFi industry but I don't know which ones are trending these days because I've not been closely following this side of the industry because I don't play or participate in many cryptocurrency games.

My cousin used to play in Axie Infinity, I remember that he used to discuss with me how it works, they need to spend money to buy heroes or something and then play games with them and they earn coins or tokens based on the level of heroes and stuff, he told me this if I remember correctly.

Most people would only be interested in playing games where they wouldn't need to spend anything and just earn money for playing the game.

A healthy game combination with both players involved.

The fusion of Bitcoin into the gaming space has further strenghtened the space and given it more visibility as well as patronage.

People who were once limited by border and international payment options have now broken even are acrively involved in gaming thereby increasing the valuation of the industry.

if bitcoin and the gaming industry are such a good combo, why is it so rare for gaming platforms to integrate bitcoin on their platforms? from there alone we can see that bitcoin is not scalable and is not suitable for use in the gaming industry, it can only be used as an alternative payment by players and that's all.

that the gaming industry is reluctant to integrate bitcoin into their platforms because they feel that bitcoin is too expensive, the architecture is not suitable for gaming platforms, it is volatile, and the regulations in some countries are still unclear, so game developers are reluctant to use bitcoin on their gaming platforms.

Deposits and withdrawals can be made through cryptocurrencies in international casinos since the emergence of cryptocurrencies. Although there are very few such games with Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin currently has a very high value, various games are operated through other coins besides Bitcoin, which act as a medium for a gambling industry.
This cryptocurrency has made casinos a borderless business. However, there was a limitation of participation in earlier alternative finance systems.

The collaboration of Bitcoin in crytop gaming has been a great unification because it has me in particular the chances to play and win or merits Bitcoin.
I see a combo on this process.
However, the combos has a potential tendency that aside winning a bet, there could also be possibilities to obtain bitcoin by rewards.
I am comfortable on this crytop gambling because it has me the medium to enhance my Bitcoin accumulations.

There is a game that I currently play (FPS online game) where you get to play against other players and every round you win, you get these "tokens" that are cryptocurrencies converted to that game specifically. It is like you mine those coins while you play that game. I have not fully explored or taken advantage of that system given that I focus only on the game itself (old game turned mining crypto) but I heard that there are other players who profited from this experience.

Additionally, I also watched some videos on YouTube where several YouTubers explained the concept of "PlayToEarn" games. Normally, you have to buy-in in order to start at that game in the form of cryptocurrencies and you earn them while you play- think of it like Axie Infinity.

The problem with these games is that there has to be some sort of burning mechanism of such tokens in order to balance the financial ecosystem. Without that burning mechanism, there would be an influx of these coins mined thereby reducing its price significantly, like what happened to Axie in its later stages.

I've only seen Bitcoin used in online gambling games, which seems like an obvious place for it.  Folks who wanna dip their toes in crypto-gaming might start there, but I'd love to discover other kinds of games that use Bitcoin or blockchain tech.

Got any under-the-radar crypto games you'd suggest? I wanna see what creative ideas devs have cooked up.  And, Id be so curious to check it out.  This kind of thing is still new so I bet there's killer concepts nobody's even thought of yet.

FOCUS
Just like others, I don't think that bitcoin and gaming is a good combo. Also, as far as I know there's no existing game that is built on bitcoin blockchain. Bitcoin has transaction current issues right now that needed to be solved and adding gaming into it would somehow affect bitcoin is a bad way. There are a lot of crypto games out there that is using altcoins with their native tokens, less gas fees, fast transaction time and also built to accommodate the game. If you are talking about gambling, there are a lot of casino already that accepts bitcoin.

bitcoin due to fee's (manipulated to move people off network) wont be good target for gaming
however locking up bitcoin and moving pegged value to subnetworks would see growth

the future of gaming using crypto tokens will flourish, but the current models lack soo many things
the stupid thing though is they are pushing people into these schemes before the schemes even had bugs removed or actually ready for mainstream

anyways, how thing may change..
lets say many decades ago i used to play resident evil. which if you complete the game you get a game save that allows you to start again with unlimited ammo
the future will be, you will get a token that gives you unlimited ammo for game completion. which you can sell on secondary markets to "cheaters" that want to buy cheat codes(tokens) to play games with max features.
or where certain zones/arena's of games are inaccessible unless you earned/bought a token to show you have a certain level character

there will be other things like fantasy football, pokemon and other things where you grow/raise/train your character to certain strengths, skills, attributes and can then sell those characters to others on secondary markets
EG 1000's of different david beckhams with different ball skill levels on the markets, or 1000's of different mews with different powers, levels strengths on the market. or 1000's of frank brunos with different knock-out % wins

the next level is where people can then take their characters and use them as VR avatars in different inter-operable Web3 VR games. EG importing a hulk into GTA10 online where he can smash the city, or the flash that can run through walls. where people trade characters and different missions can only complete if using a certain character

the world of token gaming is yet to be realised.

right now they just want to sell camo/gold coloured guns on call of duty.. they yet to realise the more possibilities of tokenising gaming

imagine walking around your (real world) town in a AR game that looks for airdrop characters(like pokemon go)
now imagine starbucks sponsored to airdrop a couple characters per day per location, that come with starbucks tokens which allow you to get a free coffee

so now you can play with a wild caught character in game and earn a coffee, or sell both tokens on secondary markets

Many people invest their capital in crypto casino or gambling or it is the profession of many people, maybe many people become millionaires or many people become destitute. I'd rather trade that money in Bitcoin than I would normally trade in crypto casinos or gambling.  Although Bitcoin is risky, I still think it is wiser to trade Bitcoin after checking the market.

Do you mean that Bitcoin and the gaming industry related to blockchain technology are a good combination? The only thing I know is that paly-to-earn games are related to other cryptocurrency networks, such as Sol, Ethereum, and others like that.

But I have not witnessed that the games on Play2Learn are immediately related to Bitcoin. Then it seems like this is not a good combination because usually in Play2Earn they have NFTs promoted there.

All this guy does is plagiarize and use ChatGPT to write posts for him... yet he hasn't been banned and his posts aren't being deleted.

But in case OP cares (he doesn't) or anyone else cares, the idea goes all the way back to 2016 (aside from casinos), when the first mobile game, Sarutobi Island, was introduced that allowed for players to receive BTC "tips" by completing various in-game tasks:

https://news.bitcoin.com/sarutobi-game-tips-players-bitcoin-now-android/

Here's a video of what gameplay looked like, and how it worked:

https://youtu.be/RRTB0nZjsm8

The game also spawned the first interoperable Bitcoin asset, NINJASUIT, which could be used in both Sarutobi Island and Spells of Genesis (another early Bitcoin-based game).

Why Bitcoin though? I don't think they will match well, going is better off on a separate chain built specifically for gaming only, like Beam and others, many people still don't believe that gaming will be great in future but it will, because are expecting Playstation and Microsoft to start using blockchain first before they will believe that gaming will do well with crypto but some companies are already in now, they will make their games available for Playstation and Xbox gamers soon.

Games like Bigtime, Shrapnel, BloodLoop, and so on have proven that AAA games are coming to the blockchain and it will do better than what people expected, many people wont see it coming, but with Bitcoin? This has nothing to do here, Blockchains projects like Avalanche, Solana and Beam are good places for gamers to build.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
I am starting to believe that these game fi, NFT games, P2E are just fad and craze. If the project comes actually from known gaming companies like Microsoft for XBOX and Sony for Playstation as they become the actual center and network of these games that allows player to earn money in game as BTC as their in game currency. But I don't think that we're going to see a game like that because most of them usually creates their own economy and currency.

I am much impressed by the opportunity gamers, gamblers etc has in depositing and withdrawing their funds seamlessly without any third parties much credit goes to Blockchain technology and the brains behind it personally I don't like any other payment gateways like PayPal, Skrill etc for any gambling deposit fortunately when Bitcoin deposit was adopted it became very easy for me to deposit and withdraw my funds and the ability to transact anonymously was another good feature of Bitcoin rather than going to the regular betting or gambling shops to make fiat deposit this had revolutionize payment system

Building my own Dreams!
I don't think that it's a good combo. I prefer just to play games and have fun or overcome difficulties. Mixing it with crypto or money at all will make it less fun IMO.

Yes absolutely. Games are designed for refreshment of the mind. We play games in order to cheer up our mood from daily workload. Now if you integrate Bitcoins or money in games, then here also we will take stress and cannot enjoy the games. From OP’s point of view it seems that he is asking about Gambling casino games. Here you can bet with cryptos or real money for playing games and can make profits from it.
