if you are talking about football and not American football, it's probably because it has been around for a long time and has become part of the culture in a lot of countries around the world, especially in Europe and South America.

Which football are you referring to? Real football like NFL American football or soccer?
shots have been fired, I already saw someone disagreeing with you 😂

Yes, and just like any other sports, there are crazy "fans" around it, fans that really supported their teams because it's part of their culture already. And the game is so simple and yet it is a very competitive sports.

Definitely some young people aim to be a football player and idolizes stars and the potential to make some huge money if you are really that great is there.

And since this game is ingrain on some nation's culture, they are going to take it personal and so it developed to be one of the most competitive sports, not just not physical, but mental as well as there are huge pressure if you represent your country and beat your rival.

Why do people love football more than any other sports
For the sake of the Americans, I think it would have been better you specify the type of football you are referring to because football mean different things for an American and a Briton.
Well, soccer is the biggest sport in the world and has a unique way of entertaining spectators.  It's unifying feature might be the reason it is so popular and loved by many.

Which football are you referring to? Real football like NFL American football or soccer? I personally cannot stand soccer, but i'm only 1 person. My dislike is mainly related to the betting of the sport, it's just not my favorite. Now if you are talking NFL football, I LOVE THAT!!! Big hits, awesome celebrations after scores, many betting options it's just a great sport.
I have a couple of US friends and none of them love soccer, rather they practically take American football like a religion.

Why do people love football more than any other sports
Sports enthusiast have their own reason why, and why not?
Football is a good sports though I’m not into this maybe one of the factor here is the country where you live in since in my country its more about basketball and we don’t have good fields to play football any time and that’s why many are into basketball instead. Betting can also be fun with Football, you can easily understand it and easily do your research because most of the teams are popular especially on a bigger league.

Because since I was little, maybe other people and I have found it easier to play football compared to other sports, for example if you like playing basketball you need a hoop for basketball and a court or for example tennis you need a racket and net to play tennis, while for football you only need enough buy a ball then play it in front of your house or in the park without needing a football field.

In my country, almost all children enjoy playing football because the sport is easier and can be played anywhere, maybe that's why people prefer the sport of football and in fact many sports betting is more dominant in sports betting on football compared to other sports. So that's all I can say is why people love that sport and not other sports.  Grin

The football is the game can be played by the people from the all the country people.Football was the only game played in all sector of people like people from the developed nation like Germany and the developing countries like Asian nations. It also accessible one to developing nations and under developing country. So the easy accessible made it reach to world wide, the football had fan all over the world. If the people know more about the game, they will know the complete rule about that game.So they will watch the match, when the match was showed in the television. They also go to the ground and support the football game and increased in the number of people to the football community.

Why do people love football more than any other sports
Aside from its popularity many are into this sports too, and that’s why many love this sports.
Though of course everyone of us here have our own reason and it’s hard to tell the exact reason why. I personally watched many football games and tournament and place a bet too, so far I’m loving it not just because of its popularity but also the sport itself. Are you planning to bet on this sports? Better to understand it first.

Why do people love football more than any other sports

I believe going through this thread, you have been provided with numerous reasons why people love football but I would also like drop my one cent. You can not just hate football unless you don't like sports at all because football is more than just a sport. It's a way to connect with friends and family to share experiences and bond over a common interest. football transcends national boundaries and brings people together.

it's a very accessible sport that anyone can play it with just a ball and some open space and the rules of football are relatively simple and thereby making it easy to understand and follow. Football is very fast paced and exciting with lots of goals and celebration actions. In short, people love football because of the social aspect of the game.

Football is a sport that's indiscriminate for one. In basketball, the game is predominantly littered with Americans who claim they are "the world champions" when they only won national competitions. Prejudice against certain races are also prevalent in this sport. With Chess, there's a certain air of elitism that prevents the average people from appreciating the sport and the competition, not to mention the fact that the game's so tense that if you didn't pick up Chess from when you're a kid, you literally stand no chance against the current state of the game.

Football on the other hand, is for everyone, literally. You got countries setting up their own leagues, and then international tournaments that are indiscriminate of any race and are supportive of whoever wins. We got loyal fans that are both degenerate in fanaticism, and while the sport's got its downsides, the ups make up for it so much that the whole football community's willing to overlook these.

Prejudice against certain races exist in the NBA please do tell.  Anyone with enough talent to play in the league has been accepted in.  Please tell me an example of this.  And Soccer you are telling me there is no prejudice anywhere...hahaha please.  If you really thing this you are ignorant or just don't want to see it to crush what your perception of Soccer really is.  Open your eyes

Uhmmm, the love for the game is undefinable...
It's grown over the years and I don't think any sports can be compared to it - well, I think it's really fascinating to see how brilliant people can be, just by using Thier legs to balance and play every unthinkable skills, running and sprinting on the same legs too...
I see every growing American child diving into Thier common sports - basketball... why's that? Maybe because it's easier...lol

Why dopeople love football more than any other sports
Because it's an amazing game but game alone is not enough to make someone fall in love with football. When you watch how Messi dribbles, how can you not love this sport? When you watch how CB gives ball to DMF, then DMF to AMF, then AMF to Right Forward, then throws to Left Forward, then there is the goal, it's amazing. I just love it because it's amazing to watch how these top players do magic on the field.

It’s really beautiful and amazing

Real football is an European football, originated in Britain. We Europeans call football to football and not soccer, that's an American term. Football also describes game football in other languages too, in German it's Fußball, in French it's le football, in Spanish it's de fútbol. Only Americans call soccer to football. American football is more like rugby than real football.
Sorry, I just can't agree with you on that word.

Basketball is the most popular sport in China too but I can't say how popular they are outside of their country.

In the American countries basketball has been one of their favorite sport

With Chess, there's a certain air of elitism that prevents the average people from appreciating the sport and the competition, not to mention the fact that the game's so tense that if you didn't pick up Chess from when you're a kid, you literally stand no chance against the current state of the game.
Chess is boring, mental games aren't attractive for people, they prefer show. btw you stand no chance in every sport if you don't pick them up when you're a kid.

Football on the other hand, is for everyone, literally. You got countries setting up their own leagues, and then international tournaments that are indiscriminate of any race and are supportive of whoever wins. As you said, Americans are the world champions in basketball but there is a small curiosity in football. Overall, Europeans are talented in playing football and their team always perform well. Germans don't have superstars but they play well because they have good teamwork. On another hand, France and Spain have the most amazing teams. But here is a little fun fact, South Americans give a born to talent. Messi, the most talented footballer is from South America - Argentina. Neymar is from South America - Brazil. Vinicius jr, Maradona, Pele, Ronaldinhio... There are so many talents from South America it's unbeliveable.

I think he is referring to football (soccer in United States). I do not like sport generally again too because the odds are low but some bettors prefer it saying they can analyze it more than casinos games but I prefer casinos now because of the better odds to chances of winning or losing.

Have heard so much about casino but I really have no idea on it, we’ll have tried it before but it came out lost.. for does who it favors well it’s okay

Because why not? Im curious before too but after I watched one game with a friend, it turns out that I really find more enjoyable that basketball. There's something captivating about the gameplay, whether it's the strategy or the overall atmosphere. It's interesting how a single experience can shift your perspective and now I genuinely appreciate football more than I did before. Maybe it really contributes when you share your likes with someone too
It is natural that everyone's hobbies and sports will be different, like you like basketball and mine like football and cricket and someone else likes badminton. Here only OP wants to know why you like football now if you think you don't like football then you can skip this topic or you can share your favorite sport here. Football is a popular sport in the world cup and I think football is our first companion in childhood. When I was going to school as a child, if a bottle or something fell near my feet, it would kick like a football. I used to, since then football has been a place of our passion. Many people will not like football and many people love football. Club level games are followed by many people but when the World Cup happens, the whole world watches the World Cup matches. If football was not so popular then people would not follow these games so seriously.

Football was my favorite as a child, and I often imagined myself joining the national team Grin

I also used to like watching football matches with my friends, even though it was in the middle of the night. So it's normal that many people like football, and it has become one of people's favorite sports. You can have a lot of fun when watching a football match with friends. But now I don't watch football matches very often.

There's a saying in my neighborhood that says, "it's hard to gather people to discuss something but if it's football, there will be lots of people willing to come and ready to discuss," hahaha.

No doubt that some people don't like football but for those who are die hard fans of football, they would wonder why someone won't like football. So finally you have seen the different thrills in football and decided to come into the fold. I know most people love soccer and I also do love it when my national team is playing, while for soccer clubs I am not that much of a fan except during some fancy weekend games. That is the majority though who love soccer and it is a great sport, one of the best also for me,however personally I am a fanatic of F1 as my most preferred sport,it shows skill, perseverance, imagination, super fast thinking and many more and compared to soccer it is an individual sport that is why I love it more,I just am not the type that fancy collective attacking or defending.

Talking about F1, two years ago when we were still in the pandemic, as there weren't many football games, so I thought about watching car races, it wasn't live, it was something recorded. I sat on the chair and watched the F1 race, it was a race in which Max Verstappen was racing for Red Bull, I confess that I didn't understand why the commentators were talking a lot about Max Verstappen, especially because I didn't know much about F1, but I knew some F1 pilots, and as that day I had nothing else to do, I watched the race until the end, but then I kept asking myself how F1 drivers can handle being in all that clothes and in one of those cars where the space is very small and in that strange position that they are in and with that high speed that those cars reach

After watching that race for some time, I started making sports bets again and I don't place bets on car races because it's very difficult to gather information, like knowing how each driver is doing with their cars in training, knowing about the states of the tracks and the history of each driver on the tracks and understand all the rules. In my opinion, the reason football is more popular is because it is easier to play in poorer countries, so most people get to know football and therefore start to like football more. In my case I like football more

I prefer to place sports bets on football, I like the way players play on the field, especially when they are premier league games, the high quality with which one player passes the ball to another to play, the way a player scores a goal, the way How a goalkeeper defends a ball and the way players dribble make football the best highlight in my opinion. It is enough to see that when there is a World Cup, most TV channels and newspapers focus all their attention on the World Cup.

Why football? Allow us to move on from the past. Its not just about the game; its also about culture, identity, and, dare I say it, a little nationalism. Football plays on our basic need to feel like we belong. We're built to connect with each other, and football gives us a group, a tribe, a shared pulse.

And all the excitement! Its not just people kicking a ball; a story is being told in real time. Its like a blockbuster movie, but real. There are heroes, villains, and losers. Now think about how simple it is: you dont need any fancy gear, just skill, plan, and spirit. We can relate to it because it's honest and raw.

Does everyone really love football "more"? Or is it that the way it affects the world makes its love stand out more? Football has a huge audience, but love? Thats up to the person. But for football fans, its more than just a game; its a feeling and a part of who they are.

Why do people love football more than any other sports
maybe because it is a popular sports, easy to play and in demand lately in your country, To be honest I'm not a fan of any sports and I find it boring watching any sports news so please bare with me, I'm just stating my opinion.

I noticed that in our country, basketball is the sports that my fellowship's really love because you can play basketball even if you have small court space and a ring, rather than football that requires big lot spaces which is not appropriate in our country. So I guess, It really depends to a person and a country.
