This is a very interesting question, the question of the gambler's mentality. I would say that the central thing in the gambler's mentality is its attitude to risk. Risk is the main phenomenon in all gambling. It is what makes a person participate in the game. For some people, this may be surprising. Why is risk attractive? What is good about it? The thing is that often (but not always) high rewards are associated with risk, which can make our lives better or contribute to our development or help us simply get a unique experience. In some cases, reward is naturally associated with risk, like in warfare, and in some cases it is an artificial thing. When you win a game against other people and get a pre-agreed win. Sports betting, poker, commercial chess tournaments, for example. This is how a love of risk is formed. This is a paradoxical phenomenon - usually no one likes risk.

When you do gamble then the primary thing that comes up into your mind is on how you would really be needing up to make profits or money. When you do gamble then its always that recommended that you do really know about your limits. You wont be that ending up on messing yourself if you are really that having the control and moderation. Yo wont be having any issues if you do just play responsibly and we do know that when it comes to gambling then there's always that chance on winning big and thats why its really that recommended that you do really know on what you should gonna do. On the time that you are really that playing gambling then it should really be just that for fun. Never ever having that kind of positivity towards gambling on winning up the game on which we know that chances are slim to be successful and it was really just that designed for the sake of luck.

no one will risk their money without any reason on gambling and for sure those people who believe that taking the risk will be worthy are those who really believe on their prediction as well or knowledge about the game they're playing. And of course they knew already what they can get from it that's why they taking the risk no matter what.

Every gambler has a different goal when they gamble, some want to make money from it, interact with other people, or just for entertainment. So if asked, maybe each person's answer will be different on this matter. But I feel that the thrill of gambling is what makes people come back to gamble and test whether their luck on that day can make them get the jackpot.

Hm while I won't deny that there's the aspect of winning money (which a majority of gamblers do gamble for), it's still for a fact that gambling IS an activity. Regardless of reason people will still do it just because they WANT to do it. Wanting to do something doesn't need to have a reason, it can also be the reason itself! Personally, I'd judge myself as wanting to gamble because I want to and not particularly for the money. If I do win a big amount then that's just a bonus on top of the enjoyment I get.

First things first on here is that if you do found yourself ending up on being wrecked or experiencing problems because of gambling then it is really just that basically because of your own fault. You havent been that told to play gambling/betting in the first place and it is really that your own responsibility on what are the things that happened into you. If you do deal up with gambling or betting due to curiosity then its not that bad and even up on playing up casually for the sake of entertainment then this is how should people do have this kind of approach towards it, because on the moment that you have overboard or go beyond with your limits then this is where it will be starting up to get messy. Gambling isnt good but be sure that you will be that responsible into the actions that you are making and not really just that betting like a mad man and really that trying out to chase up that big hit. Gambling should be fun and not something stressful on which if you do have this kind of approach then you will basically be facing up some issues later on. Mentality will really be that different into each person on which there will be those who will be that be eager on trying out to play no matter what because they are aiming for hitting up for some huge win but on the moment that they do experience the different outcome then this is where they will really be having that kind of regret on which this is something which is commonly happening into gambling. If there are tons of people who do have that control towards their gambling approach then we arent seeing tons of casinos or physical places that we do have today since they wont really be that much profitable, but look at on what we do have today? Its completely opposite on what we are talking on here and on which this is really basically shows that there are tons of people who do end up on gambling pit.

Not all the gamblers think alike, some of them gamble for fun and some of them gamble for the money, those who do it for fun are ready to lose the money without any consequences, but those who do it for money will risk more for the chance to win big, but the sad think is they will end losing more in the long run. In the end, any kind of gambler will lose, and the only way to win is to be the house, play with the house edge in your side is the only way, and that's why casinos are such a good business.

There's nothing wrong with hoping to get more as long as you are still in control of it and you are just using the spare money to gamble. I think with so many streamers showing their wins, this is where it makes gamblers be urged to play more. I have seen a lot of videos, especially in slot games where many gamblers are getting a high multiplier win and I am one who experienced it too. Now, that's where it becomes problematic, once a gambler experiences a sweet win, he will keep on coming back thinking he might repeat the same feat.

It actually depends, because there are several kinds of gamblers and each one of them see and manage risk in very different ways than others, you know.
There are gamblers who go for the "go big, or go home" mentality, which means they are pretty much at risk of suffering crippling losses at any time they step into casinos and bookies. There are also the kind of gambler who believe to have found some secret "strategy" or way to win consistently on the casino, they manage risk differently but in the end they lose money in the long term, regardless how much faith they have put in their secret strategy. There are also gamblers who wager little money during each session and they pretty much have very low expectation on winning any significant amount from their gambling sessions, they do it for amusement and killing the time.

So, in my opinion, it is very difficult to generalize and talk about the mentality of a gambler when there are so many kinds of gamblers who would need to be individually examined before having the last word on their behavior.

You're very correct but aside this people rarely run away I would say because they think they can always make a try and double any money they have it's such mentality they go about with that affects them. I feel everyone is at liberty to take some certain decisions and risks but the capacity in which one seem to carry some situations make it seems like the indulgence in that particular thing or area is abused.

When a gambler gambles, he may play for fun or for the purpose of earning money. When a person who gambles loses money and tries to recover that money, he repeatedly gambles and eventually becomes addicted to gambling. Such a person cannot get out of gambling and eventually becomes addicted and is forced to gamble, but those who escape from gambling are not originally addicted and will help improve their quality of life.
A person who gambles for a long time is not happy with his life or family, either he is financially unhappy or he is deprived in terms of family and he is known as a bad person in the eyes of society.

There are many reason why people go back to gamble after losing. It might be because of the fun the person derives from the games. Some people use gambling as an entertainment or use it to relax after a hectic day. So the drive to get that fun will always bring them back to the casino.

Others gamble because they want to make money. These set of people see gambling as a source of income. Even if the lose, the belief that they will win big one day will keep motivating them to continue betting. So the mentality of these gamblers is to make money from gambling, so they keep trying.

Now on a general note, addiction is what spur a gambler to keep gambling even when it is obvious that his betting habit is harming him in some ways..

Gamblers will gamble no matter what amount they have on hand. Whether to win or not, the impulse of playing will be there. And so to fulfil their desire to play the game, they will play whatever amount they have.

There have been gamblers who have even gambled for an even lesser amount, so I don't think gamblers keep gambling because of the amount they could possibly win but for the thrill of the game that comes from risking their own money to make more regardless of whatever extra sum it is.

In another discussion, there is a category of gamblers who could gamble for any reason simply because gambling has entered into their blood and they've become addicted without any form of self-control. This category of gamblers needs special help.

More than entertainment itself, people gamble for the hope of financial gains. Hitting the jackpot keep them motivated because once it happens, financial crisis will never be a problem anymore.

However, some also gamble due to peer influence. They think gambling is more of a normal activity already that if they don't participate, they won't experience the thrill and excitement with gambling.

I’d say that gambling is about 60% (or more) about chasing winning and only 40% (or less) about entertainment.

That is the very definition of gambling, taking a risk on the unknown and of course in the end gamblers wanted to win and multiply their money. So they are willing even if that is the hard earn money thinking that they can make their X amount into Y amount of money. That is the only mentality of gamblers, so either you are going to win or not, simply as that. Others say that they want to have some fun, sure, but at the end of the day, you want to win isn't it?

Humans doesn't want to lose even if it is just an easy money. Just look at those streamers maybe they are not for real. But you can see their reactions like they put max bet and once they got into the bonus rounds, they don't want a dead spin. You can see most of them even destroying their laptop or pc if they didn't get the desired result, that is to win more money.

Gamblers will keep taking the risks to gamble because money is involved.  People have been known to take different kinds of risks in their work places and other places where they earn money, why should gambling which does not involve any physical strength be an exemption to them? When gamblers begin to risk more than they should, then that's greed and they should be very careful about it as they have very high chances to end up in regrets if luck doesn’t shine on them. Inasmuch as gambling does not involve the use of physical strength, it is still not an easy way to earn money.

People come to gamble mainly to win, no one comes to gambling to lose. If a person loses in gambling, then he is ready to gamble again later, but still people want to participate in gambling. Some people come to gamble for entertainment, while others come to gamble to earn money, but both have the mentality of winning. If we consider it from our point of view, then we will see that we come to gamble for entertainment. Although we gamble for entertainment, greed for the possibility of winning works the most in our mind. That is why we use gambling as entertainment, but we use the risk of money to win.
