People with very big money are coming into bitcoin now. I remember when you could start a porn site for $500 now it takes millions. This is happening in bitcoin now.

if you are thinking that having bitcoin media group will make the currency famous then it's your wrong view because only interested people will join the group so what about the new user will it invite new user so ideas like bitcoin ATM , bitcoin shop will popularize three coin much faster then media group. please pardon me if i had misunderstood your statement

Yes, I was reading the OP and was thinking about it, 99,99% of people don't read the bitcoin oficial site, a lot of people use exchanges as a wallet so with your idea you can have a niche of entusiasts however I doubt you can bring more people.

Maybe if you write articles to a porn magazine, you can attract more users.

just to ignore altcoins would probably be not a good idea. if you want people to be safe from altcoin scams you need to inform them first. but only saying all altcoins are bad like a mantra will sound cult like for outsiders. so, talk about altcoins and say to be aware of scams should be an ok way to go.
altcoins as altcoins have "some" purpose. and yes making people aware of scams is good too
but everyone knows an ICO is just a premine scam tactic of pump&dumpers.

the OP should not do AMA for ICO's (people making new coins before they are even released/tested found a niche and utility)
but instead, at best only do AMA with alts that do/have served a purpose that have already shown themselves to survive the test of time. (not the pre-launch pump&dumps)

but i still prefer to have a bitcoin media group concentrating on bitcoin.. otherwise this time next year it will just end up highlighting the benefits of hyperledger. which is just fiat2.0 (banker owned, blockstream coded) and the opposite of what bitcoins ethos was
to totally exclude altcoins would be wrong, but i also think that bitcoin should be in the center of attention. but i guess this is a thing you will have to figure out as you go and i do not want to shoot it down before it started.

As a starter I have reached out to about 30 ICO dev's for AMA sessions to see if I can register some interest.

AMA with pump and dump premine scammers??(ICO)
guess quality content is not a priority

seems your veering away from your mission statement before you have begun.
"bitcoin needs media outlet"... first story.. altcoin scammers
whats next JPmorgan? Enron?

if your want to publicise bitcoin please atleast stick to bitcoin and not give hype to the area of economy that scams people

When we have  bitcointalk so why we need bitcoin media group. Bitcointalk is more than enough for all information regarding bitcoin.
Bitcointalk is a public and unregulated forum where anyone can say their piece (which is fine), yet not be required to back it up with facts. That's one of my biggest issues; there's so much disinfo and so a users has to wade through, it's poor for a new user.

As for the media group itself, as long as there is an audience interested in the information or media presented, it can work. The question becomes can you find that audience.

Indeed, it is a classic chicken and egg problem

-No audience without great content
-Generating quality content, esp through interviews / good writers becomes difficult without the audience.

I am finding my way through to finding the balance between the two.
There are other issues (personal finance etc) that I have to tackle along with growing this.
As a starter I have reached out to about 30 ICO dev's for AMA sessions to see if I can register some interest.

I have thought about this for a while and here is a draft of my action plan

-Find individuals with similar outlook, seek writers of high quality output
-Offer equal equity / profit splits on content delivered. No single ownership
-Create a slack group for content creators / average individuals to discuss events within the community
-Invite alt-coin devs for interviews / AMA's (added monetization model)
-Invite traders to help facilitate real time flow of coin specific news (value add for them : interaction with other traders / otc trades)
-Create a content driven platform. Preferably a publication on medium.
-Bi-weekly newsletters to push content straight to the inbox for inviduals that don't follow websites
-Eventual launch of website.

The reason why I don't find btctalk sufficient for this is

-Increased number of shills / ill-conversations
-Lack of focus on high quality posts that add value to the conversation
-Wider reach
-Better indexing of information for future reference.

If this interests you, please drop me a message.

-Relatively decentralized sourcing of news - with individual being able to vote upon what is considered to be news and what is pointless banter
^ this part here is what id consider a good selling point of any new media news outlet proposal.

a few people i spoke to thought about doing something similar. but more of a wiki hybrid thing too. where instead of just upvoting an entire article some people can make minor alterations to certain sentances aswell.
so its less like steemit where people 'power up' posts or medium that 'heart' posts. or facebook that 'like' posts, but more editorial to get the finer details more presise.

by this i dont mean the article is forever being changed adhok/live, but a sentance being marked/highlighted/asterisked to show that a variation to a sentance exists, where by clicking the sentance, the variations can be upvoted and if enough votes show the alteration seems more factual. then the alteration becomes part of the article, while keeping the alterations/original part of the highlighted behind the scenes selection.

So more like a reddit meets WSJ hybrid ?

I'm sure people like Coindesk and Cointelegraph had similarly well packaged intentions, to begin with. But you've screwed up already, there's no way I would take someone seriously who validates the existence of the most tenacious trolls in Bitcoin. You've got no personal judgement, or are ignorant of Bitcointalk and it's anti-Bitcoin agents. Sucks for you, either way.

This is something that should have been done a long time ago and I am sure many have thought about this for a while, but nobody seems to have taken the lead in doing such a campaign. It might also be hard to come up with funds that will be used for it since we are after all in a decentralized market. If anything, the exchanges themselves can do their part in making bitcoin more popular with strategies. It is for their own good, after all.

the big question is how will you finance this? because i do not think it will be cheap if you do it seriously.
but here is what i would like to see.
first you have an article and at the end there are 3 sides attached. pro, con and indifferent.
so you first get the news and read 3 opinions on it. everybody can participate and write an opinion but only for one side.
since there will be many opinions for one side, you can vote which is the best one. you can only vote if you wrote an opinion in the same side and the most voted one will represent your side.
after 24 hours this could be looked up. this way you get all sides/viewpoints on the news and the participants vote among themselves the best answer to represent their side.
there are more details to it but this should give you the big picture.

Leading Crypto Sports Betting & Casino Platform

Hello,

This is a Pre-ann in regards to a new project I will be launching soon.
I am working on setting things up behind the scenes while sharing my thoughts on a project I have been working on for a bit.

I believe it is need for a paradigm shift in how journalism within crypto-sphere works. A good number of units are run as for profit entities running advertisements for any project and thereby fuelling even the growth of scammers. As with any industry, it is important that a well researched and adapt unit is developed to distribute news regarding the eco-system. As it stands right now-  cointelegraph and coin-desk are the leading players in the industry. Add to this the countless tiny publications that have writers of little repute working with them. I believe the centralization of how news is dispersed within the ecosystem can be a bane for the industry and a platform is needed for the voice of the average individual to reach the masses. As it stands right now  a lot of brilliant, well researched publications can often be seen in the forum here. Announcements regarding new projects, potential scams, trading tips and countless amount of drama gets wrapped beneath forum posts here. In order for the mainstream media to see the depth of the ecosystem, I believe a new news agency should be established.

What  do I propose ?

-A news outlet
-Fuelled by chatbots delivering news on mediums such as facebook, telegram
-Content curated from the best within the forum and researched / edited by experts within the community
-A consuting unit for mainstream media outlets to get diverse views and opinions on what is going on withn the industry
-Relatively decentralized sourcing of news - with individual being able to vote upon what is considered to be news and what is pointless banter

Additional features
-Using webhooks, the bot can be further used for transactions
-Adding this to a platform like facebook permits incentivizing users as and when needed.
-Ability to subscribe to certain kinds of news (ICO's, altcoins, investments into start-ups etc)

I am open to opinions. I have not yet named the project. I am still on the look out for a number of collaborators for the project.
Do share what you think about this.

I think your idea is good.  Agree with the other poster who quoted you "Relatively decentralized sourcing of news*edit*".  I do read the news published by the 2 sites you mentioned.  I also read Reddit, but do not read much about BTC there.

If you presented news, markets, different sectors, opinions, etc..........I'd be interested in reading a different view of the news pertaining to BTC.

Be prepared to invest time and money. Get great writers, who actually have passion for writing about BTC, not just a mill shop. Report REAL news not sponsored  Undecided  Also, don't start a site with all spammy advertisements. I hate those, they tend to be less credible than those who do not (yahoo/aol news are both sites I haven't visited in years).

For the comments about like reddit, etc.  You could have a forum to discuss the topics posted/comment on news reports.  Just have a thick skin and open mind as there are various opinions.  Also keep in mind, some people just want to read and don't want/care to participate.

Good luck I hope this will come to fruition.

Good sites take time to develop.

You are not getting his proposal, he wants to concentrate on Republication & Aggregation of content already created. He wants to engineer a bot to distribute the best content on popular platforms to increase their exposure. We are doing this manually now, by browsing the web and then posting the latest news in the press section of this forum.

He wants to collect that information and then distribute that to multiple platforms by automating the process. ^smile^

Sounds like very complex project that requires lot of people involved, lot of resources and it definetley will notw be cheap. But good representation in media and making a global positive picture of Bitcoin by promoting it in any available sense is key for its further development and acceptance. So, good luck with that.

So, in essence you want to re-publish content that can already be found elsewhere (on reddit; in this forum)?

You talk about research and editing by "experts". At the same time you criticize advertising used to finance the existing news sites. How are you going to pay your "experts" that are implementing your "paradigm shift" in journalism?

Personally, I don't share your view on the Bitcoin news scene. There are a lot of different news sources and a lot of content is already be evaluated by the reddit users (which you propose as something new). There are many dumb articles, but there are many good articles as well. As a reader, I'm free to decide and judge which articles I want to read and which contain useful information and which not. I don't need someone else deciding that for me. And I also don't care so much about the reputation of a writer, because even journalists that enjoy a good reputation by the majority can write articles that I consider dumb.

You talk about centralization in the free Bitcoin news scene, where I can see none. What I can see however is that your proposal could lead to more centralization, because you (or your "experts") will be acting as gatekeepers in regards to news releases to the mainstream media.

ya.ya.yo!

I think you misunderstood.
My intention is not republication alone. It is aggregation of good work that is done within the ecosystem.
Republication = ripping off.
Aggregation = Sharing the links to posts with due credits helping content discovery and exposure.
This aggregation does not necessarily need to happen by the singular entity but by a number of people of varied ideologies.

I do concur with your concerns regarding centralization and do not wish to be "gatekeepers" to mainstream media.
I do not think there is a centralized body that can state "hey, these guys are a good source of information for bitcoin related news"
What can happen, in a free market economy, is for like minded individuals to publish good literature, backed with facts repeatedly to create a reputation strong enough for international media houses to pay heed to. In that event, anyone else is free to compete against the entity for attention, like multiple entities fight against each other for resources and market share within the economy.

Im thinking that too. But it needed a lot of money to do that. Bitcoin is need to introduce to all the people around the world. If this happens, i think many people will use it. Its our role to introduce bitcoin to them to see the benefits of it.
I agree you.It is need to introduce bitcoins to every citizen who need extra money for his betterment .We focus on to attract them in the form of forum, affiliate marketing ,news, channel, that help to more demand of bitcoins in market. Ultimate bitcoins flourished.
