its funny how people assume that football is won by how big a team his or how popular a county his. No Country came to the afcon for the purpose of catching cruise or to allow their opponent win them just like that. The same way Ghanaians want to qualify for the next round of the tournament is the same way their opponent want it also it's just whichever team that put in the needed work that end up winning the match at the end of the day.

Talking about the reactions of the Ghanian fans towards their team, it's normal for them to react badly because some of them paid huge some of money just to witness the game only to see that  they could not win a single game till they were sent out of the tournament. It's enough reading to be angry but for a journalist to publicly rain insult on the national team coach is uncalled for and very unprofessional of him.

Football gains meaning if there is love, peace and brotherhood. Football ceases to be football if there is intolerance, conflict and hatred. We must be free from all forms of fanaticism and hooliganism. Fanaticism and hooliganism are part of collectivist movements that dull the human mind. From time to time I feel similar situations in the tribune, so I decide to watch the matches at home even though I have a season ticket. I have never harmed anyone in my life because of football. I love football, but for me football is a subset of some value patterns that are more valuable than football.

There are two things here. First, if the people were angry with the bad performance of their team, this aggression may not be because all of them were betting on the game and lost the bet but it could be that they want their national team to win and  due to a draw they were not able to qualify. Winning and losing is a part of the game, and there is no need to be angry or show such emotions on a teams loss.

Even if most of those people were gambling, and they were sure that they would have won this match, still nothing is certain is any sports and gamblers should manage their risks accordingly.  Even when you are sure the one team is weak this does not mean that they will lose. On a bad day for a good team, the upsets do happen and in that case, most of the betters will lose their bets.

They might have placed some bets on Ghana and got furious by the fact the underdog team managed to draw against the favorite. Maybe they even thought results could have been fixed, what potentially justifies so much dissatisfaction and rage from the crowd. If they love their country so much it's not through soccer they should show it, especially when creating troubles and quarrels with the members involved on the soccer industry of the country. Love for the country is shown in the daily life, when focused in improving life quality of the population, seeking to see the country developing itself in education, health, infrastructure and technology sectors. Sports should remain in second plan, at least in countries which aim to develop themselves as strong, independent and influent nations.

There are so many important and meaningful things to be angry about, that to put all their energies into a lost soccer match seems a big waste. What difference would it make for real if the national team would have won? Would it bring more food into the table next day? Unless there was money wagered, the answer is no, so it really makes no sense to fight for something so insignificant like that, also because they may be risking their lives by doing so...

I also watched a short video clip were some fans vented anger on their national team, I think such kind of embracing behavior might discourage some of the Europe based players to stop coming to represent the country in their subsequent international matches, though Mozambique might be weaker compared to the star-studded Black Star of Ghana, their should be aware that a lot of lowly rated national team had up their game thus creating upsets especially in the ongoing AFCON for instance Ivory coast is the verge of being eliminated after losing 0-4 to an underdog Equitorian Guinea, Cape Verde is another tournament underdog who topped their table in a group which consist of Ghana and Egypt

it is very unfortunate that the fans were unable to control their emotions which led to this unpleasant incident. even though it's quite annoying when your favorite team can't beat a trivial team, that's not an excuse to justify this dishonorable action, especially as ghana is one of africa's best national teams. this dishonorable attitude from its fans cannot be justified because it will affect image of the team.

fans should act normally and not overdo it when their favorite team loses because no matter what, all good or bad actions from fans will be related to the image of the team and that is why it is very important to be able to control your emotions as a fan.

Some people are die-hard football fans, and being ardent supporters of a team, they are emotional in what happens on and off the pitch. But a wise person will moderate things instead, no matter how you believe you are a lover of football and the side you support, there should be some level of respect for others and the belief that nothing is perfect in it. Fate also plays its role here, and no matter how believing and strong a team is, if they would lose at the hands of a very lesser team, they will, so we should moderate things. Frankly, if I was to bet on that match, I would have given my bet to Ghana, I thought the Ghanaian team would do better than what they played. Nevertheless, this is football, and we should be ready for what we never planned for as well.

In honesty, those Black Stars guys did well but were met with some stiff resistance by the opponent they least expected, and you can imagine what happened to Morrocco in their second game of AFCON where the opponent held them against what they ever believed, this is football, anything can happen. As for those talking bitterly, they are not just wise, some people's psychology and reaction to things are wrong, some are even mad mentally but are still living and talking like normal human beings, so you shouldn't be surprised by their ugly behaviour in most cases. Why the coach issue? These guys scored twice but were only held, the coach did well in my opinion, they were not just lucky enough to qualify for the next round.

Lol, there was so much emotion and frustration on this match, I can't help but think that maybe the fans placed some bets on their country? Or maybe they just can't help it because they have so much love for their country?

There is no way you won't feel sad if your country lose a match, I could remember when I was young, the only football match I watch is the world cup, and I was always very excited about whats going to happen, it's just what it is, but some people do take this emotion thing too far at times.

Damaging of properties and getting angry unnecessary is not worth it, I mean it's not as if someone died or you lost a limb, I have a brother that I don't like watching a match with, because the moment his favourite loses the game he always get so angry that it affects people around him, I am not sure he is even aware of this.

Both people who bet on sports and people who just like sports need to be emotionally smart. In games and play, you can't be sure what will happen, and losing is normal. Getting angry and swearing are both bad manners. It's important for players to understand that not all bets will come true. This information makes you care about the game more, which makes it more fun. When you play games or watch sports, it's fun when things go wrong.

I've seen what football fans do on television. Football fans often do excessive things to express their feelings. They often damage public facilities when their top team loses, which is very unfortunate.

Well, a moment's emotion can destroy everything around us. It was support from the fans for their team but it wasn't necessary. Fans should be able to accept the results of the match sportingly, regardless of whether their team wins or loses.

The fans may not know how to compete on the field, trying hard to win but not being able to win. It was indeed very painful to see his team lose. But it's not over yet. There are still many games they can win. Fans should be able to think about that and not take excessive actions.

It is normal when we watch football and then see our country's national team fail to win the match and see many people who are angry and disappointed because of the national team's performance. But that does not mean that this disappointment or anger causes chaos or causes trouble so that it makes other visitors feel uncomfortable and we must be able to respond to it wisely, not get too carried away by having to accept whatever results our favorite club obtains because our job is only as supporters to encourage our national team to perform.

And when we are gambling and our bet loses, we also have to be able to accept it because in matches, sometimes there are always surprises, even clubs that we initially thought were weak can sometimes appear impressive against strong clubs. Betting in sports is not entirely correct and we have to be able to control ourselves. so that you don't get emotional easily if you lose, to avoid this it's best not to use large amounts of money so that it doesn't cause emotional turmoil when you lose.

Football fans are one of the craziest set of people whom can do anything that will annoy you without considering the role it plays in your life. Whenever you go to a place where a die had fans of a particular club is? You must need to accept anything he says in other to get rid of some unnecessary arguments if not they will continue to drag with you till thy kingdom come. So pretending as if you understand will be better.

Football sure is a fast paced and entertaining game. As every games there are win and loss, there's no reason for the fans to fight for the result of the game.
I know it would be emotional and probably financial reasons for them to get angry but destroying public property and attacking other people and the police is not justified.
As we look closer, fan violence is common worldwide, even in Europe where high level football is being played every day. Such violence has killed and injured multiple of people every year. The escalation has lead to large disasters. It's a bad thing to consider fan violence as football culture, football advocates of fraternity not violence.

as a bettor and football fan I never do this because I really understand how football actually always has unexpected surprises and as a bettor you will definitely understand this better so you won't feel excessive emotions when you lose because this is very common happens in football matches because big teams don't always win because sometimes there is something we don't know behind the scenes.
and I agree with some people who say that it is actually possible that Ghana fans may have bet on their favorite team so that they feel really disappointed by the defeat and are uncontrollably emotional and engage in out-of-bounds behavior.

this is a bad example for a fan as well as a bettor because this kind of behavior will only lead him astray when he has to deal with the law if he is found to have spoken harshly to a coach.
we as gamblers must be aware that football always leaves a few surprises that we cannot predict.

It was probably just a rush of emotions. While I do think it's not proper since according to the tweet, they were journalists so some amount of professionalism was expected, but considering the fact that a LOT of people expected them to win and they themselves are probably avid fans, they just really wanted answers as to why the teams performance was rather subpar. This isn't about sportsmanship I think anymore rather it's about erm nationality stuff? Since the team that represented them and they supported was rather disappointing.

We've seen far worse than this, throwing fires, people bashing the heads of the opposing fans, and more.
Keep it cool, keep it sport. That's the essence of being a sportsman and it's not just for players but also for the fans. If we see the team we are supporting being cool whenever they lose then we must follow that good feat. They can swallow their pride which means they are good sport and would sleep it through.
We can't be dragged by the emotions that are being given by the game. I know how frustrating it is especially when you have money on the line but that doesn't mean we will take out all our anger on the players we support or their opponents. If that's the case for us then we are better off watching on our televisions so that we will not hurt anybody. Or, we are better off not gambling anymore so that we won't be overwhelmed by emotions and do something not cool in the process.

I think men are sometimes too childish about what they seek in life. I understand being passionate about a football team - you may love them, you may be culturally tied to that team (like national team), you may prefer to bet win of your favorite team to share that emotion and such. But football is very lovely game as OP says, strong teams may not get good results sometimes. That's how we enjoy it. Surprises make betting more profitable and game more enjoyable to watch.

When I see people overreacting towards the performance of a team, I usually ask myself, "If they were those players, would they be able to even play like them? . " No matter if a team's performance is poor, they should still be appreciated because it's not easy to keep running, dribbling, attacking, defending, and also keeping the ball to prevent the opposite team from scoring a goal.

I can feel bad if my team performed poorly and caused my bet to burst, but you will not see me raining abusive words on those players because I know they also tried their best. If they did not try, then the opposite team would continue to score throughout the match, but they also tried their best to prevent further goals while also trying to score.

@OP, Everybody is not actually the same, and you cannot change it. Some people will overreact while others will not. That's just how it is, and it should be accepted that way because you cannot change every body's mindset.

We will never know what the final result will be. because everything is still a possibility and the potential to win. and as a bettor and football fan, it is quite important to be able to control your emotions well. and indeed this is a skill that is quite difficult for us to have, but if we consistently continue to do it, then it is not impossible that in the future we will be able to control our emotions well.

By staying calm and trying to avoid overreacting to the outcome of a match, this can help us make more rational betting decisions. And don't forget, before we decide to place a bet, we should first determine betting limits, because by doing this we can prevent emotions from influencing financial decisions. And henceforth, avoid it by continuing to avoid impulsive behavior by not making bets based on emotion or excitement, because at least to be able to make objective decisions, consider the facts and statistics. And finally, which is no less important than the previous points, don't forget to enjoy the entertainment and remember that football and betting should be entertainment, so consider always limiting the betting or gambling that we do.

You wouldn't understand the frustration of this AFCON until your country is a victim of the drop off group stage. Look at Nigeria for example, when we played against Ghana in the World club Qualifiers Africa is 202 in Abuja, a draw from that match can send us to the group stage but Ghana beat Nigeria and lose. That night, some Nigerians were angry and broke almost everything in the stadium, some players were injured and also many international fans and FIFA has to stepped in and that stadium has remain banned till today. So I understand the frustrations Ghanaians.

Mozambique clearly don't need that match because even when they lose, they will still disqualify and Ghana was leading them with 2 goals and all of a sudden, they lost to Mozambique in the extra minutes. That's a shame and a slap to Ghana because they shouldn't have let that happen, not only does good strikers win you game, you also need good defenders but Ghana had weak defenders yesterday.
