Rightfully so. He never was a good source of information or anything really to start with. He's really just a hype machine that accepts money from projects to pump up the prices of their coins/tokens.

That has some truth even on my end. Before, I had high regards on him because of the McAfee Anti-Virus that he had built. But when it comes to crypto, his statements are becoming sloppy and it lessens his credibility in the IT industry. But maybe, he has nothing to do with his life anymore. So he doesn't care anymore what other people will think of him because he is past that stage of being careful.

To be honest, I have started to get bored with the news related to John McAfee, because whatever the actions taken there is no positive
effect for the advancement of the cryptocurrency world. Even though he said bitcoin is shitcoin, it did not make bitcoin a popularity fall

It's not doing him any good turning around against Bitcoin, I don't know his reason, this is a surprising move for the old guy a guy can only say that if he losses all his faith to Bitcoin, this is the wrong time to lose faith on Bitcoin, just as halving is fast approaching and Bitcoin price is improving, I wonder what will happen to the guy if Bitcoin continue to climb to $25000 this year.

Most of his followers are newbie who just want to hear a piece of quick information about a possible pump and dump coin. This is because of the major prediction he had made earlier that came to pass so some crypto traders take him as a major influencer. Back then, soo many ICO even use him as part of their strategy to sell token by telling investors that their project is back by John mcafee. So everything has passed now and the man to me is looking frustrated because he does not make money like ever before again. What's funny is that, for more than a year, I barely made a transaction that was actually slow and expensive; besides those transactions that I purposely increase the fees for the transaction to be confirmed ASAP. The "bitcoin is slow and expensive" argument is purely bullcrap and is mostly argued by people who really obviously don't really even use bitcoin. Basically what they knew about bitcoin was stuck in 2017. Because if they were actually using bitcoin, they would easily know that this isn't really the case today due to the increased(and still increasing) SegWit adoption; and soon, Lightning.
