Here's 5 recent additions to start with:

I'm sure there's several more worth adding, have at it.

I want to get this out in the open because it is the kind of thing that will generate conspiracy theories:  I'm going to give a presentation about Bitcoin at CIA headquarters in June at an emerging technologies conference for the US intelligence community.

If what I read is true, Amir also met with them at roughly the same time.

This was pretty much at the time when everything went downhill. Coincidence ? I think not.

The revolution will be monetized!
As a newbie to the scene I mustsay this is all very encouraging.... Undecided

The problem is greed. Once people discovered that bitcoin really is money it attracted the usual suspects. Tech savvy thieves and con men love BTC because it is convenient and without penalty. The police are years behind the technology and without a solution to the trans-national nature of most criminals who denominate in bitcoin. These bad people exist wherever there is wealth to be stolen. Nobody likes this.

The speculators love it because they can play games that have long ago been banned in most markets. Bitcoin users rarely favor regulation, but not everybody understands the repercussions of that. You must do your own homework with bitcoin and completely understand the economic activity you are engaged in. Speculating in a wild market is very risky. People often try, fail, then complain about bitcoin because it didn't meet their expectations of being something more than money.

I find that using it as an online payment method is where you find it's utility and strengths. It's fast and final, I do not risk my identity or provide access to my money, and it costs me only pennies to send money anywhere on the planet. If your interest in bitcoin is to get rich then you should know that it is unlikely unless you have some great business idea and the resources to get it funded. If you just want a secure, fast and inexpensive way to send money then you will love bitcoin.

Think of it this way, you weren't here early enough to get screwed over. You came in to the game just in time to watch btc skyrocket and actually profit. All of us bitching about these assholes are only doing it because we're bitter and lost coin to them.

[Bitcoin Foundation pic]
Whilst I think this is hilarious, kudos, we need The Bitcoin Foundation to be a thing and leave its sketchy past behind.  A bona fide non-profit representing Bitcoin in a professional manner.  Take a look at what they're doing re the NYDFS "Bit License" proposal, for example.  Or the initiative for standardisation and a Bitcoin symbol.  This is important stuff and let's face it, we (for the most part) forum dwellers aren't going to achieve nearly as much.

Digital Entertainment Network (DEN)

In 1999, Pierce was listed as an executive vice-president of the Digital Entertainment Network, a company that created four- to six-minute streaming-video series, having raised $88m dollars from blue chip investors. As an 18 year old, Pierce was making $250,000 a year and held 1% of the company's shares, a board member describing him as "the guy who could tell us what Gen Yers were likely to think". Pierce resigned from DEN in October 1999, along with the site's founders, after a scandal in which those associated with the company were accused of sex trafficking.
