bitcoin has become a currency all over the world without your realizing it, almost all countries have used bitcoin as an investment and now it has reached an interesting peak that bitcoin has set an example for adoption for cryptocurrencies, many countries have also made their coins stable I believe in the future there will be a currency that will be used around the world and it will be a stable coin which will definitely make transactions more secure because there is nothing to worry about when the price drops.
- Although quite a lot of people around the world apply the definition of currency to bitcoin but I want to ask what country in the world is agreeing on the rules and even on behalf of other countries to declare the possibility of bitcoin, maybe you will find it difficult to find the answer when the countries considered to be the strongest and their words are most effective, they still do not trust the concept of currency in bitcoin. The common and only consideration of these countries remains that bitcoin is the biggest fraud center on the planet, cannot be currency and cannot be legal

If there were to be one, then I can say with some confidence that it will be Bitcoin.

It is clear that blockchain is the way forward in terms of a unified global currency. CBDCs around the world will likely try to jostle for position as the world's reserve currency (especially the Chinese Yuan).

But at the end of the day, grassroots adoption is going to favour BTC and not any centrally backed token. People and institutions are waking up to the fact that fiat has no intrinsic value, and the blind faith in the fiat system is all that gives it value.

I also don't see any other currency to be a one world currency other than the bitcoin. Bitcoin is the only currency in the world which is trusted around the world and everyone is wiling to buy bitcoin. If all the governments and financial authorities can agree, we can have one world currency as bitcoin.

We still don't have one world currency because we still don't have a one-world government, every government for every country has a different look for the different currency, bitcoin as one world currency is possible but it would take so much time before it happens, a lot of things should be considered first before they consider it as a one-world currency, we should have stable internet first and a good knowledge before we have a bitcoin as a one-world currency.
I don't think that a one world government is going to work though, there will be people that will oppose its implementation because they know that when there is a centralized government, corruption and tyranny is going to set in. One world currency on the other hand can work, euro is a good example, it works in EU and there seems to be no problem, so in short it doesn't need to have a one government to have a one currency.

Bitcoin might not the one you are mentioning though adoptions for making it a good investment assets brings more investors to this market.

aside from Bitcoin, not sure if there's an alternative coin that will show up and be embrace by the whole community, where both people from crypto and financial market will co-exist using that said crypto currency.

Well said! every government have their own position about every matters, one government might far to happened. Bitcoin presence might an open door if most countries start to adopt this chain and embrace the entire ecosystem.

But as of now, USD is being used worldwide as reference currency to value anything at any part of the world which helps everyone to understand the worth of a product rather than interrupting values in local currency. In short, one world currency will be useful when you transact with foreigners. So, having worldwide one currency will help all of us time to time and here we are discussing bitcoin will replace USD on this regard.

Euro is one currency for all European counties. Probably bitcoin may get recognized as digital gold at first and then slowly may reach to the status of one world currency.

Precisely. The US Dollar is used by many countries worldwide because of its stability and reliability. On the other hand, the Euro is used by European countries for all debts public and private. If various countries adopt a single Fiat currency, I don't see why it isn't possible with Bitcoin. All it takes is for mainstream governments to trust Bitcoin as a legitimate medium of exchange. Then, we can talk about Bitcoin being the "One World Currency" for all.

Maybe volatility is the issue why this global adoption slowly happening in terms of merchants adoptions, but what good thing is there are few merchants already showing some good acceptance on major crypto's if many more will adopt it then provably we can see more transaction and increase of usage on bitcoins then maybe we can see bitcoin make it the same wit Euro and US dollar which gain a massive usage by people all around the globe.

Regardless of how popular Bitcoin becomes in the mainstream world, it's unlikely governments will cede their monetary power to a decentralized cryptocurrency like Bitcoin. A Fiat currency like the US Dollar, the Euro, or the Chinese Yuan have better chances of becoming the "One World Currency" than Bitcoin itself. For this to work though, all of the world's governments will have to unanimously agree to use one currency for all debts public and private. This will enable a "One World Government" where every person is a citizen regardless of his/her country of residence. While all of this may sound crazy, it could become a reality if there's a "global reset". One World Currency or not, Bitcoin will be here to stay thanks to its decentralized and censorship-resistant nature. Just my thoughts Grin

Firstly why people will adopt a single currency like usd, euro in all over the world?

Firstly why people will adopt a single currency like usd, euro in all over the world? There are a lot of fiat currency in different county and they won't adopt others currency easily. Bitcoin can be a great choice for adoption because it is decentralized, fast and reliable.

It is said that Bitcoin is the precursor of the "One World Currency" that will be used in a "One World Government". In the past, it has been predicted that a "One World Currency" would come into fruition as the current monetary system collapses in its entirety. It is today where we have Bitcoin, a Peer-to-Peer digital cash system that's decentralized, used globally by many people worldwide. Essentially, Bitcoin is a "One World Currency" although not backed by any government or trusted entity of any kind.

What do you think? Is Bitcoin the "One World Currency"? Or will another currency take its place in the future? If that happens, which currency do you think will become the "One World Currency"? Will it be the US Dollar, the Euro, or the Chinese Yuan? Do you think governments will unanimously agree to use a single currency for everything? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Smiley

Biblically speaking one world currency will be happen for real in the future. We just don't know if this is the time, but of course no one knows this thing to be happen when? Although, some of the individuals had their point on this, just all I know Bitcoin at the moment was really being accepted in the majority of the country in the entire world now.

I agree with your opinion, governments do not have a very friendly position on Bitcoin, because they cannot control it, but they are generating many strategies taking advantage of Blockchain technology, in fact China is a pioneer in it, since its stablecoin has been quite a feat, for Russia also has plans to launch it in at least 2 or 3 years, they think that the digital age should be in their economy, the US for its part has not yet established a cryptocurrency or stablecoin plan, the FED is very aware of the steps that may happen with respect to debt and gold, they have considered Bitcoin to be a substitute for gold but not adapt it for not having a backing.

In some third world countries they tried to do it, but without success, Europe for its part does not have plans yet to launch a Digital Euro or Cryptocurrency, but in the near future I think it will be a priority to do so.

Governments can't control Bitcoin, but they can certainly embrace it. Imagine if governments and central banks surrender their financial sovereignty. Only then, it'll be the demise of Fiat currencies as we know them. Despite Bitcoin being a decentralized cryptocurrency, there's nothing stopping governments from using it for their own benefit. If Fiat goes all the way down the drain, all of the world's governments would simply adopt Bitcoin as the new standard of money. This means that Bitcoin will be used for all debts public and private.

Nonetheless, I believe that the "One World Currency" would go hand-in-hand with a "One World Government". This is far from happening soon because the world is not ready yet for a truly-digital and cashless society. Countries cannot reach a common agreement over certain issues, so the odds of a "One World Currency" becoming a reality are very slim. If it does happen, I think Fiat will be more suited for a "One World Government" than Bitcoin itself. Whenever it'll be the US Dollar, the Euro, or the Chinese Yuan is yet to be determined. At least we have financial freedom with Bitcoin. Just my opinion Smiley

Of course bitcoin can become the one world currency, as long as the people use it for their daily needs. Right now, more merchants and companies need to integrate the bitcoin payment method to their system in order to wide spread the idea. Look at Elon Musk and the way he accepts bitcoin in Tesla. It has triggered a big boom for the whole cryptocurrency economy

Well when it comes to one world currency then I don't think it would be bitcoin cos everything we're seeing now is still going to come to fade away before the mark of the beast 666 which is going to bring about it new currency not really bitcoin or what we are seeing now.
Bitcoin will be more famous in the future and when that time comes, lot of people are expect to use it as a currency unlike today that people see it more as a store of value. But honestly, i don't think there will be one world currency because every country has its own currency. If you visit another country, you will use their currency and not yours. So one world currency is still too far to being implemented.

There is a possibility to it to happen considering that virtual money is more accessible today and they safe specially now that we experiencing worldwide pandemic due to covid19 and instead of bringing a lot of money or what, they would rather prefer to use it...just as they were planning to have a one world currency there is also a one world government which would take place in the future.
along with the times, the intensity of human activities is getting denser, as if there is no time to do various activities. therefore with bitcoin, I think it can streamline one's time in terms of transactions

Cryptocurrency is an Universal currency/world currency for its possibility to get exchanged to any country's fiat. Bitcoin will not get acceptance as one currency for the world. It takes years, because the acceptance level as currency is very low compared to its usage as investment and transaction platform.
Or hasn't it? The power of society can form a new definition for what is called one world currency. The decentralization will soon become as strong as the government and Defi will rise and overtake the current economy. When the time comes, even the strongest government cant stop the crowd. They have to admit that bitcoin (or maybe any other cryptocurrency) to become the next era of the monetary system. Moreover, we are promptly heading to a new age of technology where IoT, AI, and data will dominate the world. Bitcoin will definitely have its spot to shine

Bitcoin needs a lot of improvement and recognition before it is fully adopted not just for investment but also for daily transactions. It is obvious that right now bitcoin is only considered as a term of investment where people can earn huge profit by storing bitcoin.

Gold actually used to be the World Currency.

Bitcoin won't be , at least not for the regular people, price and transaction fees drive it out of the masses ability to purchase.

Now Banks , the rich, & corporations will all use bitcoin , but the rest of us will be using offchain systems or altcoins that are affordable.
