It will really be a problem. Many users would want every transactions to be fast to avoid thinking bad to where their funds got into or will it still come.
Even those who are sending small amount of bitcoin would want their transaction safer and would want it to comes as fast as it can.
Still I think bitcoin is on the number 1 spot because of this alts are using bitcoin as basis for their prices.

1.The excellent secured block chain technology on which it functions.
2.P2P transaction system in which no banks or middle man is needed.
3.Limited supply of only 21 million coins available.
4.Gaining trust almost all over the world.
These are some of the important reasons for which bitcoin would remain #1.

I agree, bitcoin being #1 dosn't have to do with its name. Yes it sounds cool but one day it can be changed into something cooler or something that would fit for it, but people wont bebhappy if they changed its name. It is true that bitcoin is number 1 because it is the first one, and most people use this crypto. It is also the most trusted and I think with the highest( or one of the highest) in value.

No. The reason bitcoin was number 1 is wasn't for the name because there are a whole a lot bunch of cryptocurrency which had sexiest than bitcoin.
