Can you explain more clearly please? Are you saying this hard fork AKA bitcoin unlimited will defeat bitcoin in hashing power and kill it off this way so people who hold BTC will have their value depleted this way and lose in the end?
I think exchanges will allocate 1:1 to BTC holders if the BU is listed as part of conditions for listing so this will not happen.
Are you recommending people diversify into other coins?Why?.. because if BU gets listed then they will surely lose out on 1:1 swap because they would not be holding BTC at this time of listing of BU.
Can you elaborate on exactly what is going to happen as this riddle could have many variables and in turn many answers to suit the actual result something like having many preconceived answers to suit all possible outcomes.
Actually it would be namecoin in my humble opinion that is the twin.
Namecoin is a different codebase than Bitcoin. Not a twin.
It depends on your risk tolerance and how btc you have.
You can hold your btc and you will get an equal amount on the BU chain. I think most will do that.
There is a risk with this. This hardfork isn't that well planned and numerous bugs have been found in the BU code already. Plus there will probably be an attack on Bitcoin (core) by BU miners which could stall that chain and force another split to a new PoW algo.
If you add these two possibilities then there is a good probability of a massive panic and price crash. It will be difficult for most to think clearly in such a scenario and if panic selling ensues it could get really ugly really fast.
So again, it depends on your situation and how much risk can you stomach.
If I had say 1,000 btc I'd probably cash out 200 now to have a lot of cash to buy with. And then wait on the 800 btc and double it to 1600 post split and hope there's no crash and it's easy to pic a winner.
If I had only a few btc I'd probably just wait and see cause my wife [hopefully] wouldn't leave me over such a small loss, in the event I were to make the wrong call after the split.
Personally, I think the worst case scenario is gonna happen, there are going to be bugs, Bitcoin (core version) will get attacked and they'll be forced to fork again to a new PoW algo thus splicing Bitcoin 3 times. This would create mass confusion and the price would probably plummet at which point it would be hard to figure out what's what.
I think all hell is about to break loose. I expected it to happen last summer which was why I kept saying: it's gonna be a HOT summer.
Good luck!
