The Australian IT executive rumoured to be the inventor of Bitcoin has revealed himself as the creator.
Craig Steven Wright, who suddenly came to prominence as a possible Bitcoin founder in December, has published a blog post offering proof of his work.
Here’s how he proved his identity to journalists at the BBC:
At the meeting with the BBC, Mr Wright digitally signed messages using cryptographic keys created during the early days of Bitcoin’s development. The keys are inextricably linked to blocks of bitcoins known to have been created or “mined” by Satoshi Nakamoto.
“These are the blocks used to send 10 bitcoins to Hal Finney in January [2009] as the first bitcoin transaction,” said Mr Wright during his demonstration.
Wright said he planned to release information that would allow others to cryptographically verify that he is Satoshi Nakamoto.

Gavin Andresen also said he verified that Dr. Wright is Satoshi. And of course "Satoshi" just drew first blood on Blockstream by dismissing Adam Back's work which preceded Satoshi's.
This is not a coincidence, today is the first day of consensus 2016: The bankers just locked and loaded and took the first shot against Blockstream and the Chinese.
If this doesn't bring about an agreement then we'll have an all-out war in the next 72 hours. My guess is war is coming. Retaliation will be swift, decisive and brutal!!!!
