If I look at the goal that was created for Spain in the 88th minute, at least it proves that Portugal is only targeting a draw. But unfortunately, their plan failed because Morata managed to score at least towards the end of the match, with this goal it would be difficult for Portugal to score in a match with only a few minutes remaining. If Portugal manage to score early then it will be a definite result for Portugal to qualify, I bet for Portugal to win and also both teams to score and it is a mistake that keeps repeating. Cool

While Messi dropped in performance the previous year when he moved to PSG, CR7 remained fine then dropped badly this season although staying with the same team..
I don't expect much from him and from Portugal in Qatar. I mean they can pass groups stage since their opponents aren't top but they will not continue further.

I am not much bothered about their current form with the clubs. Both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are among the top-3 players in global football at this moment (other being Neymar) and this is going to be their last world cup. And for both the players, they are yet to lift the trophy in their career and therefore Qatar 2022 is going to be very important for them. They will try their best to win the world cup this time. Club football is something entirely different and we should not focus too much in to the recent performances of these players with Paris Saint-Germain   or Manchester United.

That is exactly what happened, Portugal came with draw mindset, they knew that draw will qualify them for the next round and they were clued to the worse case scenario draw mentality. Portugal actually played better than Spain and had alot of good chances. Ronaldo's sharpness has reduced, no one can cheat nature. I don't know if Portugal will sti rely on him for this world Cup outing.

The actual truth is that no one stays in form when they're not playing very often, even as Messi and Ronaldo have been phenomenal over the past decade, they're also bound to lose consistency with time and age catching up on them, especially when they not playing always, Ronaldo seemed to going to through what Messi similarly encountered last season after a new move and being injury plagued for a while, which is lost of confidence, Ronaldo clearly seemed to have lost a bit of his magical touch and confidence, I think the best way to get better now is not to be solely focused on goals he just should try well enough to impact the game in other aspects, like contributing to goals and general game plays while he goes through the phase, I'm pretty sure he'll get past this too.

Portugal defeats was their fault instead of coming out and playing a balance game rather they stock in their box and kept on defending. Spain kept the pressure on and they break the deadlock in the 88th minutes which william gave a flying header to Alvaro Morata, he finishes with a stunning kick. Portugal was currently down at the moment and they couldn't do anything rather they pressure in the extra time to levelled the game but Spain univaded defense were able to tied them down. Talking about Cristiano Ronaldo, he's not longer that strong as before, the CR7 I know wouldn't pass the ball or relent on the pitch when given a big scoring opportunity, he needs to rests because all I see is weakbones.

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.
Big congratulations to Spain. While I was waiting for the draw, Morata scored the goal that put Spain ahead and they eliminated Portugal in the last minute. I was very happy for them. Even though Spain seems a little lower in terms of squad quality, I think beating Portugal away is enough to show that they are a team. They became a cohesive team.

Portugal's problem was that, to start thinking about the draw.
Around 60 minutes into the game, Portugal simply started to retreat on the field and play a counterattack game. While Spain refreshed the midfield and attack, with substitutions. Portugal simply did not change the team, and was waiting for the last 5 minutes to make relevant substitutions. By then, it was late, as he was already losing the game and would hardly be able to score.

I didn't see Spain playing an extraordinary game, nor do I think they proved to be a team capable of selling the World Cup. Portugal, on the other hand, if it continues to play games in the style with a lot of thought in the draw, it shouldn't go very far in the World Cup either.

Leo is resting.
The match is almost over and the situation still continues with a 0-0 draw. Although both Spain and Portugal had their own strong squads, they could not score. This match looks like it will end in a draw. I think both teams could have won, but a draw was the most likely possibility. It's like it's going to end.
Spain changed the game with a single goal scored by Morata, moving the country from third to first place in Group B. Congratulations to those young talented players for their teamwork.
Today's performance for Spain boosted the Spinerds' confidence ahead of the World Cup in Qatar in November 2022. It has clearly demonstrated that Spain is well prepared and will give their all in the World Cup.

The game was a very interesting one despite the two teams not scoring goals but we witnessed a game that left everyone surprised because at the first half Portugal was shooting from all angels and they dominated in the game living Spain with no option but to calm the pressure down, the Spaniards came into the game in the second half with their beautiful teamwork touches and they took over the game and they pressured the Portuguese side until they got the winning goal in the 88th minute by Alvaro Morata. Good game to them and they are now the group leaders.

Although both teams have excellent players and attack, very little happens in the match between Portugal and Spain, 73 minutes played and still 0-0. There is a good chance that no goal will be scored at all. Too bad, we also saw this match at the 2018 World Cup and then there were no fewer than 6 goals and the final score also became 3-3. That won't happen anymore. It doesn't matter who goes to the final 4, both countries have their sights on the World Cup. They see it as a good practice match.

Spain later won the match surprisingly with a goal from Morata at the 88th munites, even with top players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Cancelo and Dias etc on the pitch. On paper, Spain have a weaker team but when you have a good coach like that of Luis Enrique, any surprise can be expected. Spain had more targets and ball possession than Portugal.

So you was wrong  Grin Another shameful result from France and only thanks to Croatia they kept their place in League A. I don't even know how to comment on this - maybe France is really that bad and will fail in the World Cup? I'm not sure of anything anymore.
And I'm more and more thinking that FIFA and UEFA have produced a monstrous inflation in football - too many games, too many tournaments. A significant part of them can be removed and no one will grieve.

I still think that France played a serious match against Denmark, the best they could at the moment, but it was obviously not enough to win.
It's obvious that France has problems in its game and is not playing at the highest level.
Is the reason for this the problems in the relations between the players in the team, about which there are rumors, as well as the problems in the relations between the players and the coach?
We don't know the answer, but I wouldn't write France off too soon. It is a very good team with a lot of quality players, and there is still enough time until the world championship for the team to prepare well and raise the level of play.

I didn't see the whole game but I saw cuts of moments and I noticed that for example Mbappe looked terrible - for me it's a mystery because he plays well in PSG (or is the Ligue 1 level so bad that we don't notice the gaps?). I don't know what's going on in the French national team, but now I doubt that I will bet on them even in the group stage.

Today I was surprised by the victory of Serbia, Haaland could not score a goal.

once again the results were a disaster for me, it's been very difficult to predict the results of these games, but anyway as a bettor for me this is a challenge and as I take it as fun I confess that I laughed a little with this defeat of portugal. luckily this weekend we are back with serious games from the local leagues, these games of the nations league are very difficult games to predict because they don't play seriously and even when they put the best players the feeling I have is that they are not playing seriously , but at least in yesterday's and today's games it seemed to me that the teams took the games seriously

I just didn't think my choices were always the opposite, when I chose the team that won on paper or at least chose the majority but the result was that the unseeded team won. This happened for Italy, from the statistics that happened in this tournament so far at least Hungary was able to score a goal even though I chose Hungary but I expected both teams to score. But what happened was precisely the victory on paper and Hungary, which are basically mediocre teams in this match, all happened, so the minority lost but unfortunately this happened when I chose it. Angry
That's not just you, if anyone wagered on the favorites to win during this tournament, that means they probably lost because in this tournament teams usually do not send their players, and even the ones that do not want them to hurt themselves before the world cup and that is why they would do whatever they can do make sure they are doing the bare minimum to stay safe.

That is why we see lower level teams trying to fight harder, either because they do not have to worry about world cup, or at least they are trying to show themselves to European football clubs to get more attention, that seems like the best reason for them to play this hard.

The match so far is a tough game for the both teams and non of the two teams wants to loose the game, they're both playing tactical football, a bit pressure from Spanish side trying to dominate the midfield as usual. If both teams continue playing in this way, the match will end draw.
It was a bored first half and I would love to see goals start coming in the second half of the game because it will make the match become more interesting. However, I'm just neutral in this game tonight because both teams are my favorite football teams.

0-0 between Spain and Portugal in the 1st half.
Not so many chances for scoring a goal.

The game however looks fun, anyone can win at this point.
In terms of ball possession and pass Spain takes the lead with whereas Portugal have made two shots on the target and Spain haven't made any shots on the target. This is one among the much expected match and I believe there is more chances for Spain to win the match.

Portugal vs Spain will determine who will be the winner in Group B. Portugal only needs a draw in this match, while Spain needs an absolute victory.
In the first meeting they were only able to draw 1-1. In that match Spain did dominate the game, but they struggled to penetrate Portugal's defense and their attacks were not very effective.
Maybe in this match Spain will be able to dominate the game again, but for sure Portugal can read the game that is usually played by Spain.
I predict Portugal will come out victorious in this match by a narrow score.
Spain make a lot of changes to their starting line-up: 7 new after the 2-1 defeat to Switzerland. That means Gaya, Koke, Carlos Soler, Carvajal, Morata, Hugo Guillamon and Rodrigo are the 7 in and they start from the beginning. I think Spain will risk more because a draw is not enough for first place and the semi-finals.
So far a very dominant game has been shown by the Spanish players. But they were far from effective despite dominating the game. In the first half they had 72% possession, but they were unable to register any potential goal chances, even aiming their shots on target was very difficult.
On the other hand, Portugal, although just waiting, was able to make it difficult for Spain when they launched an attack. Let's see in the second half whether Spain can be more effective or not. Because dominating alone won't let them win.
