^  Michael Johnson was actually a highly touted prospect back in the day even though his record wasn't that good.  He fought the top guys and had wins over a young Tony Ferguson, Dustin Poirier and Edson Barboza.

Anyway, yeah the next event is not really that good but it's better than the worst events this year imho.  Looking forward in watching Durden vs Johnson, I wanna see Quinlan in there, Borralho vs Oleksiejczuk and the main event.  Curious how Song Yadong fares vs Simon's wrestling.

Ricky is relentless in the wrestling, so if Yadong can't keep it on the feet, he's in for a very long night. Ricky, on the other hand has questions to be asked on the feet. I think it's one of those classic match ups; wrestler vs striker, and it's ultimately going to decide who wins. However, I've learned my lesson far too many times, never doubt a dedicated wrestler to get things done in these tricky matchups.

Even though Yadong trains with Urijah Faber and the guys at Team Alpha Male, I think Ricky Simon will def have success in taking him down.  Simon took Jack Shore down a bit easily and Shore isn't just a half assed wrestler.  The guy is pretty good.

But the thing with Simon is he could be chinny and Yadong has powerrr.  And another thing, who was the last guy to KO Simon?  Yep, it's Faber, Yadong's head coach.  Cheesy

I have seen the video he surely choking that bystander who has thought was Logan Paul, but before that Nate Diaz was really pissed off at Chase DeMoor back in the Misfits event, throwing a bottle of Water in his face it was really a heated argument and I really don't know what triggered Nate Diaz to do that because Chase DeMoor is shouting something, and we all know Nate Diaz if he is angry he will result to physical violence,

What I dont like about Nate behaviour, is not that he has used his professional skills against a regular guy (it does not look like he trains something), but the fact that after the guy was out, he releases him and unconscious body felts back. The guy fells back on back of his head on a concrete. If there were a border, the could have died from that hit. Also, if a guy is unconscious and on back, he could swallow his tongue and choke. That is why he should be left on a side. That is one of things I was taught in gym. If the guy is KOed, rotate him on side and never leave on back.
I only saw the video where Nate Diaz chokes that person and I don't understand, that person wasn't resisting, wasn't pushing him and why did Nate Diaz try to choke him?
By the way, does anyone know when will Nate Diaz get released? A little bit strange and curious thing happens around Jake Paul, at first he had to fight to Andrew Tate and then soon Andrew got arrested, now he has to fight to Nate Diaz and Diaz gets arrested. Everything goes so well for Jake in terms of marketing and final results, words aren't enough to explain, he is doing so well!

Thanks for the info about these two fighters I surely don't know their style but I really have a slight familiarity with Song Yadong with Ricky Simon, I was totally blank and will watch some previous fights to get more familiar but I think like you have said this will be a classic fight and fighters now tend to learn more things than just go with a one-sided wrestling or one-sided striking only so we will never know what may happen here, that is why I am very interested with the MMA,
I believe all good fighters have learn both of wrestling and striking because you can easily lose with either one technique you're not mastered. If a fighter only learn wrestling striking, he will not able to defend himself when his opponent taking him down. If a fighter only learn about wrestling, you can got KO'ed when you're too close or don't have a sense to predict his next move.

Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya are the example they have learn wrestling in order to defend and escape from ground fight and they still comfortable to rely on their striking technique.

UFC Fight Night: Song vs. Simón

Date: April 29, 2023
Main Card: SUN, APR 30 / 2:00 AM GMT+3
Prelims: SAT, APR 29 / 11:00 PM GMT+3

Venue: UFC Apex

Main card (ESPN+)
Bantamweight: Song Yadong vs. Ricky Simón

Not going to lie I don't really have any idea about most fighters in this event but will look for the main event's previous fights, and then go with it, I think I will just pick the interesting ones and tackle it for a bit before heading up with my prediction,

It was a total Look Alike of Logan Paul a striking image of him, probably can become a double of Logan Paul when Paul would star in movies when Logan Paul is about to get Whacked by someone, then the stuntman double would change him, this is him, surely even though he is the original Logan Paul he shouldn't have done such thing and this incident has occurs minutes after he throws a water bottle on Netflix star Chase DeMoor, at the Misfits boxing events,

So I think Nate Diaz will need to get arrested after these two incidents, which he surely deserves, Nate Diaz is surely getting out of hand whenever he is drunk or getting mad at nothing,

Due to we having rather not interesting event this week, I was surfing the internet for stuff. Found an interesting fighter - Michael Johnson. A lightweight. Ever heard of him? Probably yes. He can be considered as best among worse, or worse among best Cheesy The guy has 21-18 record. I would have passed him by, but I accidentally took a look on his record.

We have there - a victory over top Tony Fergusson, that was on a series of 8 wins. He has knocked out Dustin Poirier. Win over Gleison Tibao (against him Khabib has a very complicated and close fight). He has found a key against Edson Barboza striking. And Johnson has lost to a guys whos best achievements were a fight against him or participation in early-early-early prelims.

What is the purpose of that post? Dont judge book by cover. He is an example how average fighter or underdog can beat top fighters of division.

I was one fight off from a few k. A Bellator fight let me down, though. Surprisingly had a good week in the UFC. The one week I add a Bellator fight on to my card, it ends up ruining a win. Anyway, next UFC event looks fairly spicy. I'm liking Simon in this headliner though, don't know about you.

It was a bad week for many I got the Main Event and got tons of profit with Pavlovich but the Co-Main Event and the Bobby Green one was not so good, especially the No Contest it was an upset of a fight because of an intentional headbutt, for the next event I was really looking forward for the
Arman Tsarukyan VS Renato Moicano was canceled due to Moicano's unknown injury for this fight, Ricky Simon looks tough but will be checking most of his fights a quick backtrack before taking my chances, and the fighting kitty Hailey Cowan was the 1 fight for me that will spice things up,

No one is interested to fight Ngannou. I think Dana really stretch his arms to affect Francis's career to end. He hadn't done it  to Demetrious Johnson's career though.

Ciryl Gane was the 1 fighter that was interested in fighting him but surely it was a deadlock for Francis Ngannou now that his career is over, he can still do something if he can get a fighting company that will accept him but if he demands something big because he surely wants more I think other MMA Company would not like that Demetrious Johnson in the other hand was erased by the UFC and just like that he was never heard at all, but ONE FC had provided him, with a fruitful career and he is more thankful for it, but not Ngannou Francis Ngannou wants a lot of things huge things you can not imagine,

I expect Jones to face old Miocic and then finish career with a victory. I think I saw somewhere, that Jones said he has only 1 fight left. So beating Miocic would be an easy fight and a nice moment to put a dot in his career. Imho it does not look that he is very motivated to fight again and again.
Yeah, that's the hint of his recent tweet.

How cool would it be to spend my retirement fight dominating the greatest heavyweight of all time, in my home state at Madison Square Garden?
I don't know, Jones likes to stir things up and this could also be a marketing strategy. There's no detail about why and I doubt it is about his age. He is just 35 years old and there are fighters who still do it at almost 40 or more.
It may be the best way to hang the gloves, from a win and his hometown but I do believe fighting young and hungry players would cement the GOAT title that had been doubted by many UFC fans.
Just going thru the replies in that tweet, I still find many people who disagree about it.

One fight that you may just be interested in is Demetrious Johnson vs Adriano Moraes 3 in One Fight Night on May 5. This is going to be an action-packed fight. The 1 1st and 2nd fight was also cruel, if this is just in UFC, it will be highly promoted.

Do you know the resent story, when Nate Diaz choked some guy in New Orleans (probably due to drunk conflict and he has confused that guy with Logan Paul, older brother of Jake Paul, with who Nate is having a boxing fight in August)? Well Louisiana State police dept. gave an order to arrest Nate for committing battery of a second degree. Short info - in Louisiana such deed is counted as criminal offence and could be punished with 8 year sentence.

UFC president Dana White has already told multilple times that it is over with Ngannou. He will never be in UFC anymore. After he left, they had negotiations and made him new offers. He refused all of them. I see that Ngannou has only one point, one position - he wants to do a boxing match and earn millions. Not just few, but probably ten is minimum.

I expect Jones to face old Miocic and then finish career with a victory. I think I saw somewhere, that Jones said he has only 1 fight left. As to Pavlovich. He is top2 heavyweight now. Only Gane is above him. That fight is going to be a real challenge for Pavlovich. Reason is simple - Gane has gone through all the strikers, all that heavy hitter. All those beasts that have number of KOes equal number of victories. Lewis, Rozenstruik, Tuivasa. He has fought and beaten all Pavlovich alike opponents. While level of Pavlovich opponents were a bit lower.

Sad to say Francis Ngannou has already destroyed his career after leaving the UFC, his worth is dropping significantly fast that nothing can surely stop it anymore, even boxers don't want to fight him because he doesn't worth a thing now,

While Jon Jones could simply get back to retire, I really don't know if he is going to decide on his own or if there is a written contract with the UFC that he needs to accept but I really don't know how many fights he can take on the contract, but if he wants out he can surely get it,

For me, Sergei Pavlovich is a very different animal when it comes to Lewis, Rozenstruik, Tuivasa, and the many Heavyweights that Ciryl Gane fought Pavlovich is surely a striker, but that strikes have that accuracy and technicality for a striker, and I think with the Curtis Blaydes fight I really think he hasn't shown his full potential yet, because it mostly end up in a TKO in round 1,

I thought Curtis Blaydes could defend Sergei Pavlovich's hits and pull him into deep water, but I was completely wrong. As soon as the match started, I immediately realized how wrong I had been. Sergey Pavlovich swings such punches that they're all so strong and fast for heavyweight opponents that it's hard to see those fast punches. What will happen now? Does he need to play one more match before the belt match? Heavyweight complicated up Ngannou, Jones now Sergei is a total devil triangle.

I really have the feeling that Pavlovich was understated and will impose his skills in order to land his power shots on Blaydes. But knowing Blades and his experiences against top UFC fighters, I was still confident that he's got enough and will come out stronger against Pavlovich. Pavlovich is just so heavy-handed that his jabs are enough to hurt Blaydes which affected its focus and set up for more damaging blows to land.

I doubt Ngannou going back to the UFC anytime soon. It's Jones and old Miocic for the heavyweight title next. 1 or 2 more fights for Pavlovich and he gets a title shot. I still want to see more of Jones at heavyweight. I felt like Gane was just rattled facing the GOAT that leads to his defeat.

I couldn't watch the whole fight, because I had to watch a lot of soccer games, it was a week with a lot of interesting games, but I saw a lot of videos of this fight and the previous fights that Sergei Pavlovich, Sergei Pavlovich's right hand punches are very strong, you can see that when he starts throwing punches in sequence and fast with his right hand he manages to make his opponents dizzy and Curtis was always open in his defense, he was hit in the face with a punch and you could see that his hands his were still immobile, that is, Curtis' reaction time to defend himself from Pavlovich's punches was a very slow reaction time in my opinion, I saw comments from many people asking Pavlovich to fight Jon Jones before Jon Jones left introduce

it would be a good fight between jon jones and pavlovich if one day it happens, but i see jon jones winning if this fight happens and the reason is very simple: jon jones has great resistance, he takes a lot of punches and hopes that the opponent gets tired and when he puts the opponent on the ground, the opponent is hardly able to let go, all the effort that the opponent makes to let go causes him to spend a lot of energy and even when he lets go jon jones still has more strength and easily wins the opponent, Pavlovich has a way of fighting a bit similar to Cryil Gane and it would be close for Pavlovich to fight jon jones one day

The thing is there are really great matches on soccer games right now and I prefer Premier League and Bundesliga, but in Bundesliga, it is very unpredictable right now and it is nearing the last matchday, while Dortmund is near becoming champion,

Anyway back in the UFC, Ciryl Gane and Sergei Pavlovich don't have the same style of fighting, yes they are both strikers but in boxing with two boxers both boxers have the same style, the answer is no they are both boxers but they surely have a different style in fighting, and in the case of Ciryl Gane and Sergei Pavlovich both are strikers but you can tell the difference Ciryl Gane is more of a technical striker, were he would surely look and adjust to his opponents striking, while Sergei Pavlovich is a brawler type of striker, that would rely on the durability of his chin, to counter his opponent with a devastating punch, for me Sergei Pavlovich is not ready to face Jon Jones yet, Jones have many tools in his sleeves getting into him without proper experience with the gatekeeper would be suicide,

I think those looked like they were half hearted TD's.  Lol.  I forgot Blaydes kinda has low fight IQ.  He just reminded me.  Cheesy  I really thought he'd do Palv like he did Overeem back in the day and to think Palv's only loss was due to ground and pound.

Blaydes lost his shot for a title shot.  But I guess Palv is a more exciting match for Jones.

Anyway, lost my lottery ticket again.  I gotta stop doing these.  Next event I just bet on the guys that I think are gonna win with good value.  Sad

Curtis Blaydes is shooting takedowns out of desperation, that is why Sergei Pavlovich caught it with a punch, Curtis Blaydes won against Tom Aspinall with an injury to Aspinal kicking Blaydes shin for me Blaydes doesn't gain experience with this kind of win so going into a Pavlovich fight he was half-hearted in taking on Pavlovich, and now that he is out of the picture I think that Sergei Pavlovich deserves something and that is the title shot, but he is not ready yet, for me a fight against Ciryl Gane if he can withstand Gane's barrage of punches,

An easy win by Pavlovich, it's so quick than what I was expected. The wrestling and ground skills by Blaydes is still not enough if he want to reach higher position, I think Jon Jones might easily win via submission against Blaydes lol.

To bad we did not have an opportunity to see a how Pavlovich performs in later rounds. It makes harder to make predictions. Once again we saw punches and first round finish. This really makes Sergey a once side fighter. Who knows what would be an outcome if his opponent got lucky to born with stone chin? How cool is Pavlovich besides punching? I think I am gonna avoid placing a bet on his next fight until I see him from different angle. Even though bookies next time would see him as a favourite (if only he did not fight JJ next), but it might turn that IRL it will be a 50/50 situation, if he is for example really bad against submissions. Like early Lesnar, who was defenceless against Mir and kneebar in their first fight.
