Poirier tweeted about Conor not paying the $500k he promised to his foundation. I can't see any reason Poirier would lie about such a sensitive topic, even if Dana asked him to promote the fight. I know Conor said no more Mr Nice Guy after his loss to Poirier, but I thought he might have kept his word this time around.

I'll be honest I liked that Conor seemed to start maturing, but it did seem to take the edge off of him. So, although I probably do want Conor to bring his trash talk back, and regain his form just because it makes an already stacked division more exciting, but I wish he didn't pull this move.

can't get over that i once again bet for Kevin  Grin

It appears that the MMA news media has begun to create the rivalry between Rose Namajunas and Weili Zhang to be a political battle hehe. Similar to Hollywood and China’s manipulation to spread their agenda, this might be another opportunity for the Chinese communist party to create a similar storyline.

As she prepares to battle Zhang for the 115-pound title at UFC 261 on April 24, Namajunas recently talked about her Lithuanian heritage and the country’s fight for freedom from the communist Soviet Union, which ended in 1990. Namajunas then related that to Zhang’s own home country of China, where the communist party remains in power today.

According to Namajunas, whose family hails from Lithuania, she’s found a new drive to beat Zhang after educating her teammates on Lithuania’s own history to rid the country of communism after living under Soviet rule following World War II.

she keeps saying there nothing personal against her but she's bringing it somewhere like it's good vs bad. but then anyway, if it keeps her motivated then go on. i don't think she will win against weili. i can tell already this is even a no-match fight. i hope the media won't make it controversial enough to show how brutal the Chinese are when this is just an MMA sports.

Rose Namajunas will be saying her prayers during face off and Weil Zhang will be playing some meme character and it would be fun rather than a political battle  Cheesy. US always want an anti hero and for the most part it was Russia and now they have China  Cheesy. It is going to be a great fight and i expect it to be another high pace battle just like the Joanna Jędrzejczyk fight.

No doubt that both of those girls are good fighters and seeing them step in the ring to fight will be a huge crowd gathering to watch their fight. This only means war because both big-time countries have their own representative's fighters who will fight for them. I think the best fight to happen in the women's division will be this one and it's only a few weeks from now.

^  And Jack Shore won.  Does Wales have a good program for wrestling as a competitive sport at University or even highschool?  His wrestling skills are at par or could even be better than some of guys from the US who fight in the UFC.

Not really, we have wrestling clubs at universities, but if were to compare it to the scene in America at colleges, and high school I'd say its no where near the standard or funding. I'm glad Jack Shore won, I've been following him for a while, and fully expected him to make some noise on his debut.

He's probably an anomaly, there's not many Welsh mma fighters in the UFC only a couple, and one of them got cut recently. His name is escaping me at the moment.

Honestly, it was a real tough opponent for him to come up against, but he handled it well, and I know some people might argue that it was close on some of the rounds, and there was definitely some dubious scoring that night, but I think Jack did enough to take the win.

^  Ansaroff had a long lay off, almost two years and just had a baby.  Dern has improved a lot.  I don’t get how the books don’t factor stuff like that in.  Kinda like the Barriualt vs Azaitar bout a couple of weeks ago.
Nina Ansaroff surprised me in a fight when she fought Cláudia Gadelha and hence i never bet against her because she has improved a lot training with Amanda Nunes and since she was coming off a defeat in her last bout i thought she will fair better in this fight and even though she had a baby and was returning after a long lay off i expected her to fight better.

And yeah, Holland had some moments on the feet but he needs a lot of work to do in the wrestling department.  His TDD sucks.
His coaching team has to advice him to take it slow and work on his take down defense if he wants to be the top fighter, last year was a great year for Holland winning 5 fights and now he has 2 losses this year.

So, obviously I stated that I was rooting for Vettori in this fight, but I'm at least glad that it seemed Holland actually came to fight this time around. So, I'm not all that critical of him, except that he really needs to work on his takedown defense now that its been exposed. As, if he wants to progress up the rankings, that will be the go to strategy against him.

I thought Alves was doing alright until he wasn't. He had some pop in his punches, and wasn't too far away from landing some of the big shots he was throwing. I do feel like he loads up way too much on his shots though.

UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Holland

Nina Ansaroff VS Mackenzie Dern

A fast finish for Mackenzie Dern she really is aiming for that tap and looking in ways to get to Nina Ansaroff, and I think that this is one awesome fight for their division and just like I have said Dern has a huge advantage in this fight while Nina Ansaroff is just aiming for the strikes, Mackenzie Dern is devising a great submission takedown.

Marvin Vettori VS Kevin Holland

I can see that Kevin Holland has a quick speed in punching and giving strike points to Vettori was quite fast and accurate but Vettori really is a smart and formidable fighter for Holland he just destroying Hollands momentum on the ring by getting to takedowns and his grappling positions just didn't let Holland score much and even getting him a cut to the eye, Well that performance from Vettori was Awesome controlling his opponent from start to finish.

My pick is on Marvin Vettori, especially if Holland starts like last time and acting crazy but odds are low so maybe I will try win by submission this time.
Everything is going as per i thought, the fight is taking place on the ground and Marvin Vettori is dragging Kevin Holland to the ground and dominating the fight till now and i am not expecting the fight to resume like this and by this defeat Kevin Holland will understand that he needs to improve on his ground skills rather than fighting all the time.

Ignacio Bahamondes had a disappointing performance and once he failed to make a take down he had no other game plans but the rest of my other picks were spot on and the eyes of Holland were shut closed and i am not expecting an upset now.

UFC started early today so I missed all prelims but I jumped into watching Mike Perry vs Daniel Rodriguez and I am only interested for main event.
My pick is on Marvin Vettori, especially if Holland starts like last time and acting crazy but odds are low so maybe I will try win by submission this time.

Another fight card and i am not keen on the entire card but i am wagging some bet on some of the fights.

My picks are Jack Shore, Luis Saldana, Ignacio Bahamondes, Joe Solecki and Marvin Vettori

And my fight of the night, Khizriev vs Daukas has been cancelled due to covid protocols.  Sucks.  Anyway...  The dogs are barking in this card.
It is not that great to see fights being cancelled and who knows when this bloody shit will end and they are training for a fight and why cant they be careful about getting infected as they are not getting paid if they cannot fight.

I was also fancying Sam Alves this week, but I'm not so sure looking at his previous fights. He tends to get knocked out against some of the bigger fighters. The man definitely has a lot of heart though, and his opponent definitely hasn't covered himself with glory recently.

I'm also fancying Jack Shore, and Arnold Allen this week. I'll look at the rest of the fights in more detail in the next few days.

My lean on Alvey is more of a fade on Marquez than anything.  Alvey has better cardio and has more pop behind his punches.  But might stay away..  Alvey moved down to 185 from 205.  That’s 20 lbs.

And of course you’re fancying Jack Shore.  Wink

Honestly, for the way Holland acted in his last fight I'm really hoping that his hype train is truly derailed in a dominant fashion. I understand that's part of his fight plan, and he doesn't take it seriously, but that's frustrating for any fans of MMA. He made a mockery of it the other night, he had no idea how to counter his opponent, and the way he walked away in the last 10 seconds instead of going for the knockout, which he was very capable of doing against Brunson as he had him rocked a few times in the fight. I also saw in a clinch situation he was just chilling, arms down wasn't even resisting. I just can't support or route for a guy who takes it to that extreme. He might not take it seriously, and that's his decision, but the fans take it seriously, and the UFC should be taking it seriously. I don't care how much money he brings in because he runs his mouth, if he isn't actually going to try when hes being beat, then that's just going to annoy a lot of fans.

According to UFC middleweight ranking, fighting against Holland is a step back. I think that Vettori should have faced Jared Cannonier instead. He is a top3 right now and last time he fought months ago. If Vettori wins, he will be closer to have one more fight against Israel Adesanya.
In my opinion, Vettori was the closest one to win Adesanya.

UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Holland

Nina Ansaroff VS Mackenzie Dern

Newly mothered Nina Ansaroff taking on fellow Mother Mackenzie Dern this could pull off with Dern taking the submission or if Ansaroff taking a more safe way of fighting it with distance and making kicks Ansaroff may win this and can pull through in making Dern back off, but Dern has the bigger advantage here.

Marvin Vettori VS Kevin Holland

Marvin Vettori got a build like Yoel Romero very strong with his takedowns, and Kevin Holland two weeks ago has been defeated by Derek Brunson and right now he is facing a younger version of Brunson "note" just two weeks and he is fighting again, I really think that Vettori had a pretty big percentage in winning these.
