UFC 240
July 28, 2019
Rogers Place Edmonton Canada

Main Card

Max Holloway (20-4-0) Vs Frankie Edgar (23-6-1)

Max Halloway is the bigger guy here I definitely think that he's gonna come up victorious in this fight because I guess he can pull out a maneuver of footwork and punches that Max gonna give to Frankie can be very devastating in my opinion, I definitely think that Frankie Edgar will not stand a chance against Max Holloway.

Cris Cyborg (20-2-0, 1NC) Vs Felicia Spencer (7-0-0)

Well speaking of this fight I guess that Cris Cyborg has the upper hand here and Felicia Spencer will have a hard time dealing with her, I guess the experience that Cyborg has will definitely come in handy in this fight.

Max Holloway (20-4-0) Vs Frankie Edgar (23-6-1)
I can still remember how Edgar's soul left his body with Ortega's uppercut.
Holloway completely dominated Ortega and it's not going to be different this time.
Max with long reach, striking skills and decent ground game will finish Edgar.

With the big PACMAN and 1 TIME match happening this weekend I don't feel this UFC event is getting enough attention.
Rafael dos Anjos (+116) vs Leon Edwards (-130) = who cares?
The following weekend for UFC 240 MAX will dominate on EDGAR  Lips sealed

@nydiacaskey01. He is right partly right, however. Amanda Nunes is clearly the male in his relationship with fellow MMA fighter Nina Ansaroff hehehe.

^ ^  The line on Pennington at +131 (2.31) looks good.  She had two straight losses, but to Nunes and De Randamie before the coming match.  Nothing to think small about.  Aldana could be an easy W for her.
I can never doubt the results of Amanda Núñez, because he is really a professional fighter who has already received 18 victories in his career, but you should always pay attention to the fact that this fighter has experience of different styles and different types of martial arts, including Brazilian jiu-jitsu  , Boxing, Judo, Karate

 .
It should be HER.
Regardless of what type of martial arts they use, its still how they apply it when they fight and how the other fighter will react. There are a lot of street brawlers out there who made it in UFC who only knows how to punch and doesnt like to engage on a fight laying down. But with no knowledge about other martial arts have low chance of winning in the octagon.

Here's a vid of RDA.  Enjoy.

UFC San Antonio Free Fight:  RDA vs Cerrone
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOF-haO06-U
This was a long time ago, back when RDA was the champ. If I remember correctly, Cerrone has suspected RDA of using some peds prior to their fight. I've said in my previous reply that I think he's gotten slow since losing the belt.
It could be PEDS, but after the UFC has made a radical changes specially when they opted for USADA a lot of high level athletes seems to lost their prime including RDA. So maybe there is some truth about the PED abuse but until he is caught (he hasn't failed a drug test), we can only assume that his is clean but suspected of using it prior to USADA.

Rafael Dos Anjos was a risk-taker and taking this fight would consider that his opponent this time is far below him, But even though Leon Edwards doesn't have enough experience because of the number of his fight I think this is not the case because Edward is rank top 10 and one of the most skilled welterweights out there so maybe that is the case why RDA is considered as a slight underdog than Edwards, But for me I'll go with Rafael Dos Anjos winning against Kevin Lee prove that he still got what it takes to fight opponent such as Edwards but this is a risk and he sure ready for taking that risk involved in this fight.

I would be nervous to bet on the 40 year old man from Belarus- who is 2-9 in his last 11 fights with many coming from being stopped

AA has a funny nickname - "Chrystal chin" in Russian community and is quite rages about it. Goes to sleep even from a mosquito punch.
Anyway, hope he will win this time and retire, but somehow I have a funny feeling that Ben wont allow him to win this time Smiley

RDA vs Edwards this weekend guys...  I have no idea why RDA is the slight underdog but I took it at 2.11ish at FJ.  Smiley  I don't think Edwards is ready for anybody vs the top 5 WW, judging from his last bout.
Edwards is a technical fighter. He definitely has the striking skills to go toe-to-toe with RDA.
I think RDA has not been that impressive as of late and that probably made him the underdog in this fight.

Mmm...  Dunno, maybe.  Edwards didn't show much at his last match vs Gunnar Nelson tho, who's not really as good as RDA.  But we'll see.  I like RDA as the slight underdog.

Here's a vid of RDA.  Enjoy.

This contest wasnt even in the ufc so it might have been a smaller promotion that did not take care of its fighters back then like UFC does today

It was a big event back then where Fedor Emelianenko was headlining the card and if you check the fight list there were many prominent fighters on that card and it was a huge event and Donald Trump was a major share holder in that company as well as partnered with Golden Boy Promotions.
The reason for the event to be so big was that fighters from Pride were facing fighters from UFC and fans were dying to see those fights during that time.

Leon Edwards is basically a good striker and if you look at the career of Rafaeldos Anjos he usually fights well against strikers and he will be good at ground game against strikers, Rafaeldos Anjos usually struggles against good wrestlers and most of his defeats are against well versed wrestlers who could control him on the ground, i am betting for Rafaeldos Anjos to win the fight against Edwards.
I don't know about RDA winning this one. He's gotten slower in my eyes ever since he lost the belt. I agree though that he is usually dominated and controlled by well-rounded wrestlers/grapplers like the current champ Usman.

«Heavyweight:  Andrei Arlovski vs Ben Rothwell»
If Im not mistaken, they have already meet before and Andrei (when he was in his best shape)  was a victorious via KO.
This gonna be a good fight and for Ben an opportunity to win this rematch.
Andrei Arlovski should retire from the sport and he won that fight ten years back during his prime days and now Ben Rothwell will be a tall order and i expect Ben to win this win.

Yes you are true that AA defeated BEN with a round 3 knock out but this was more then 11 years ago!
