-always offer escrow and dont be offended if someone asks to use escrow, it what makes our little playground work so well.  Dont always need to use it but it should be openly accepted.

That's a much better way to phrase the escrow. I updated the OP

When posting in offering threads you should:
Avoid to troll and sig-spam like user killyou72 by posting garbage and repeatedly harassing the thread opener by making offers when the thread opener does not want to deal with you, because he does not deem you trustworthy.

You could have just said; "Don't act like I have for years" and saved a bunch of Internet.

You could have said nothing at all if you had nothing nice to say.

There are new people here everyday who do not know the Dos and Do not s

Although I did somewhat in jest post the "it's rude to outbid someone in a different auction who is bidding on one of your auctions" it does ring somewhat true.
I know I have tagged out to 2 or 3 people in PMs (possibly more) asking for a nod of OK before bidding / outbidding them if I felt a conflict could ever be seen.

Also:
Location of item(s) should be mentioned.
Are you auctioning this for you or for someone else.

-Dave

I had no idea of that one, and I have been here for a little bit so I felt the need to post this thread. I'll update it, those are good ones

buying items/listing auctions/ bidding on auctions/ hosting raffles etc.

I realized we do not have one of these threads, and there a million unwritten rules when it comes to being here so here are some tips if you are new. Any thoughts/opinions on what I should add or edit

These are not all of them, and by no means is this a complete list. But I would like to think its close

When posting an item you should
Mention the location of shipping
If you are posting this on behalf of someone, or a collaboration
Post photos of the items with your username and the current time/date written on a piece of paper
"always offer escrow and dont be offended if someone asks to use escrow, it what makes our little playground work so well.  Dont always need to use it but it should be openly accepted" Wheelz
Remember:
Collectibles (child board of Goods) - Trades of physical collectible items ("Including physical Bitcoin coins" as the board's subtext states). If you are selling these collectibles on another site (e.g. have an online store), it doesn't belong here.

Also, if you know it's going to be more then a day or 2 you should mention how log between someone wins & pays and you are going to ship.
Just had a issue where they only ship on Monday and I won something on Tuesday and it was a week before they dropped it in the mail.

When hosting an auction you should:
Not change your auction terms after it has started.
Not edit your initial opening post until someone quotes it.
Add a clause that allows you to require a deposit from newbi bidders.
~This can help prevent shill bidding, and from random newbis ruining your auction with bids they do not intend to honor
Not have any crazy clauses that would discourage people from bidding.
~I.E. "I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime and not sell this"
There's no point in having a secret reserve, if you have a reserve just make that your starting bid
Have clear terms
Usually Altcoin related sales should be done in the Altcoin section's (like Marketplace). Regular sections are meant for just Bitcoin. However, this rule was never really strictly enforced from what I remember. I've removed people accepting only USD in Digital Goods, since well, this is Bitcointalk, not USDTalk. With collectible Altcoin items I feel like it's even more iffy, since you wouldn't want to break up the (already small) collectible section.

I always assumed that accepting an Altcoin is fine, as long as you are open for payment in Bitcoin as well.

I'm happy to accept BTC also. Just figured it was easier to price in LTC and accept LTC. If there is such a rule about only accept BTC, that's fine. Just let me know.

Please edit your OP to include this piece of information. BTC must be one of the accepted methods of payment, otherwise the topic belongs in the relevant altcoin board.

To others: feel free to report topics in this section if OP doesn't accept BTC.

When bidding on an auction you should:
Post your bid in the format as described by the auctioneer
Pay when you win
Note that "it's rude to outbid someone in a different auction who is bidding on one of your auctions" told my DaveF, noted here
Private message the auctioneer IF you are a brand new account/little to no trading history to make sure you are able to bid. The auctioneer than can post how your bids are valid and you are not shilling

When buying an item via PM you should:
Not ask a million stupid questions
Don't be penny pinching when it comes to shipping/escrow cost.
Don't beg

When hosting a raffle you should:
Have an escrow if its a high valued item.
If it doesn't fill up in a week, you can adjust the ticket price, add items to the raffle, cancel it and give out refunds.
If it doesn't look like the raffle will fill up, than do not accept payment till the spots are filled, or mostly filled.
