Leaving all "I am Elon Musk I am distributing money to everyone!" obvious scams (at which point they made half a million dollars before people got wise), I could easily say that it is not going to stop because they are getting better and better at hiding it.
You know which scams are the worst? The ones that are like a company, you may not fall for a person trying to trick you, but if they build a company with great SEO and amazing marketing and even tv ads etc etc, if you start seeing them everywhere, you will think that it is just another project, and maybe you won't invest into another new project that's normal, but there will be a lot of people who fall for it, whereas they will be just another scam, they call it "rugpull" instead.

Twitter, telegram and discord now become the source of scamming people. Many newbies are scammed in this way. we should always double check any link before connecting our wallet as hackers use phising website to empty your wallet. Only verifing the official account is not enough because some time hacket got access to official account and sent fake site to collect airdrop. This is easy task for hackers. Instead of Blockchain contract they are now have an eye on these official discord servers and twitter accounts which is easier to hack.

Now many accounts on twitter with blue ticks offer promising projects that is a trap because we don't always trust blue tick accounts basically they always cheat by providing links that lead to phishing sites, so it's no wonder there are many ways for them to cheat many people in other ways, including DMs from Twitter and also messages from Gmail, so many people came offering prizes or winning prizes, which obviously we have to be able to verify properly.

Whom who have some sense, will never join airdrop imo. As airdrops are not trusted to me anymore. Now everywhere are scammers. Waiting for innocent people With their trap. They are new comers who mostly joining airdrop to earn money from crypto industry but become victim of malware attack and lost thier capital rather then income. They should know that, nothing is free in this world right now.
Nothing wrong with airdrop as long as you can keep yourself in the safe zone by trynig to avoid any suspicious link. You can only participate in the airdrop that being created by legit company. that will give you guarantee if you will not be scammed. A company with very good reputation will not try to destroy their reputation. This will become the basic thing before try to participate in the airdrop. That have been many trusted companies regularly making airdrop.

There is no doubt that these platforms are places for most scammers and hackers and you'll be hacked if you download an app that contains a malware. So, if you're one of those people that are into airdrops, make sure that you're careful to avoid them.so many scammers have been using their badge just to lure people into thinking they are legitimate, while it's clear that they are not, in which definitely gonna be problem.
i think everyone should instead find information from other sources like from discord and see if the project is legitimate and even the devs are legit, that way it will minimize the chance of getting drained.
moreover, the fact there are so many scams dapps nowadays, that the risk outweigh the chance of getting profit from following airdrop just didn't make it worth it to be honest.

Twitter and telegram is the hotspot platforms of scammers. Just avoid clicking link or interacting on this casino especially if you are a newbie or don't really have idea what you are doing. These scammers are doing anything to scam people like joining the current trend, impersonate influencers and even make smart contracts just to scam people. I believe that even crypto veterans can possibly be victimized by this scammers because some of them are really good to it. Just avoid using twitter if you find it as a threat or just don't click links that you think is harmful.
You forgot to mention Facebook. It is the leading platform and it is more user-friendly than the two so expect that scammers will lurk here the most. If the link just randomly pop up from a random person, chances are that it was a scam so we must avoid. Even if you know it already, don't ever mess around with it because it can still potentially harm you. Joining the trend is one of the easy ways for a scammer to scam people because who doesn't like the trend?But, it can be easy to spot a fake influencer because usually legit ones have a verified tag or a little check sign beside their names. No need to avoid Twitter or other social media sites completely as they are useful to us. We only need to follow the safety protocols.
