Things does look different this time around, last time when Ethereum was at 1400$ every single altcoins I know of are already bringing 200% to 2000% profits to all investors, this time around only very few altcoins have grown big after Ethereum reached 1300$, yes things are different this time around
To all those saying altcoin season won't likely happen, in January 2018 altcoin season was able to triggered because bitcoin was done for at 19k to 20k at the time, this time bitcoin isn't done yet, you can see that dominance is increasing too, it might take longer than expect, stop expecting history to repeat itself in same ways like 2017
History always finds a way of repeating itself, whether we admit it or not. I think it will this time around again. Bitcoin is still having a good run and doesn't look like it wants to slow down a bit. Corrections are quickly eaten up by the buy orders like sell orders don't matter. Alts season will only commence when Bitcoin is done and this will be evident in BTC dominance. The flicks of price increase we see in alts now should not deceive anyone that alts rally have begun. These are just regular traders buying. The real whales are yet to start making purchases. Once that begins to happen, we shall experience what happened in 2018.BTW, alts rally was in 2018.

2017 is a nightmare in altcoins but based on the circulation of the coins right now I can say that things will be different this time. We just need to have some patience and continue reading. 
That is one of the problems for most people nowadays, especially in the crypto world. They are only focusing on the whales coin like eth, btc etc. and they forgot the altcoins. I've talked to a lot of people that they are willing to exchange their altcoins for other coins that have a huge value. They did not see the potentials of their altcoins and that is something they need to understand.
We can not blame them because maybe they have their information about what they believe. We hope that we can profit from each coin that we have, no matter if we have different altcoins, so we can use the time to make a profit from the altcoin. But focusing on the big coins such as ethereum and bitcoin could be profitable for them, as if they still search for the altcoin, they will have a hard time to find the right one.Agree. At the end of the day our goal is to have profit regardless on what kind of coin do we have. I'm just hoping the day will come that most of us already mastered by art of trading in crypto world so that we will maximize the true potentials of altcoins.

So you need to wait for that, while you can enjoy this moment by buying and selling bitcoin so you will have the opportunity to make a profit. The altcoin season will come, but we should wait and prepare. Right now will be the year for bitcoin because bitcoin can hit the new ATH for now, but that new ATH will be broken by the other ATH this year. But the situation will not be the same as the previous years.

2017 keeps fond memories of the cryptocurrency world, price dominance continues to increases and bitcoin can break the record high prices at that time. 2021 has just begun, we have been surprised by the tremendous increase in the price of Bitcoin. In my view, 2017 to be more precise was a wonderful year for ICO, while 2021 will be the year of altcoins.
Altcoins should be pumping big right now, Ethereum is already at 1200$ and bitcoin is already at 40k, I'm just wondering why whales aren't taking the advantage of altcoins yet, maybe they bitcoin sti have a long way to go? It seems majority of altcoins will be left behind this time for real

You are right, the more people keep expecting altcoin season to start the more Bitcoin keeps growing and of course the dominance as well, and with the dominance being that high, altcoins will find it extremely difficult to have a good bull run, but it is also seen that some altcoins like Ethereum are still increasing in value but not the sort of value that would have been witnessed if there is altcoin season. Also, I agree with you in the aspect of 2017 not repeating itself, this is because price increase of Bitcoin can be seen to come from fresh Institutional investors who have understood the potentials, benefits and gains associated with Bitcoin in the future, hence the reason it keeps jumping back after dumping thus setting new ATH beyond the expectations of everyone. In addition, since no one can predict the crypto space, I wouldn't say there will be no altcoin season, but it might happen the way we didn't expect.
now it's bitcoin season, the dominance and price increases are steadily increasing, don't expect an altseason to happen in a short time if bitcoin still dominates the market. the state of the market cannot be judged from history, there must be at least the old altcoins that are within 10 CMC experiencing a significant increase for other altcoins to follow.
This is not the bitcoin season but this is the crypto season. People have started to realize how potential the cryptocurrency is. There are so many companies rushing for bitcoin while the small traders are FOMOing altcoins. Altcoin season already happened and didn't you seen that the majority of altcoins were getting more than 150% increase in a short time?

Just wait for the time that altcoin season will happen. It is slowly happening as of now, just look at the price of every altcoin as of now, growing as bitcoin also doing its good movement. I am good at investing in altcoin right now because the price of bitcoin right now is too high for me, I am not good at trading especially short term trading, if I am able to trade like that may be I am good with bitcoin but as of now since altcoin is also rising, I'm good with it.

but there are thousands of altcoins. I don't think all of them will be good. lots of them dying everyday. but yeah. this time things will be different for altcoins too just like bitcoins. I have watchlisted some altcoins in my private investment box and I am going to full my bags with them because I am very hopeful that they might be the best altcoins. and can get huge gains just like bitcoins.the XRP is playing underdog. you cane expect anything from it.
This time's ATH is quite different from the last 2017's bull run but it doesn't mean that altcoin season wouldn't happen. There will surely be a time for correction and if that happens, altcoin season would still come and potential coins would still shine. There are different speculations but one thing is for sure, this year wouldn't end without the pump of good coins.
in fact, currently the altcoin price is going up as bitcoin price has hit a price of $ 41k. In terms of bitcoin, currently there are no altcoins that really pump. I don't see any huge different, the only thing I notice is bitcoin growing higher than ever which will prolong altcoin season I believe, it's going to take some time before altcoins really start their bullish trends, dominance is high, bitcoin surge over 41k, all this is new and Ethereum will grow over 1500$ too, patience is needy here
The bullrun I think is only for BTC and ETH, there is nothing much for the other altcoins so if it's something that worries you, it's best that you just have to sell what you have for ETH. Many of us have been hoping to see our tokens to spike up but now that BTC reaches $40k, our tokens instead just go under. Tokens that aren't listed yet to any exchanges are the most frustrating to have.

No one has seen the future right?
So anything and everything can happen. People predicted that BTC will go till 30k, but it’s crossing 40k+.
So many unexpected things happening right now, and altcoins aren’t segregated from it.
ETH has already shown it’s capability.
Other coins will surely do the same.
We just need to wait and watch.
