It is ''practically'' impossible for someone to bruteforce their way into getting your private key. There are way too many combinations for such a specific attack or even for one searching for a random wallet with coins in it. So yeah, your coins are safe unless someone gets direct access to that information through your pc.

Private keys exist as a series of alpha-numeric characters, and guess what? You could brute force your way in to someone's wallet, directory.io or not.

No, you cannot.

That I can't post it, doesn't mean it is not there.  It is there despite the fact that I am not sure which page it is on.  Everyone can see your private key, and mine, and all the others.  The system is not secure.

you really do not understand how bitcoin works do you?
I'm fairly confident he understands how Bitcoin works, but I've seen him before on this forum and he has made topics like this in the past. But the entire concept of the "directory" is literally starting from the first possible private key, and then working your way up from there. There are so many, and the chances of finding a key with Bitcoin actually in it is so low that is basically doesn't matter. Anyone could use the same method, but it would just be time consuming and have no (or a very minimal) reward.

I thought that website already gone long time ago.
Maybe someone will make an application which can import all private key and send the bitcoin to his address Tongue

Hey, RawDog is the Master Troll and Bitcoin hater around here... He will do anything for a bit of attention. Just ignore the statement that everyone's private key is on that site, because it's impossible.

Just watch this little video and see for yourself ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZloHVKk7DHk ... RawDog likes to confuse the newbies in the hope that they too would turn against Bitcoin for

some stupid reason.  Grin Grin Grin Grin
It is not impossible you fucking jackass.  It is totally possible.  Just because that guy limited his algorithm to a few prefixes from which an address can start, there is nothing at all to prevent someone from making an identical site which lists ALL bitcoin keys.  'impossbile' is a very big word dumbass.  Maybe you should stick to words with just two syllables so you'll be sure to understand the meaning of those.

Yea, and even if it was possible, you would have to take the rest of your sorry life to work through 1% of that to get a valid private key with some coins in it. Then you do not factor in the pass phrase

you have to solve on top of that. You are a damn fool, who has to resort to swearing and name calling to make your point. I have a good mind to add you to my ignore list, if it was not for the foolish

entertainment value of your posts. Sometimes I need to laugh at idiotic behaviour like yours, or I would end up like you.  Wink

You are the fool my friend.  You don't need anything.  No passphrase.  Once you've got the private key - that is all you need.  I am surprised a guy with a big swinging dick that goes around explaining things to people would make such a mistake.

How does it feel to be the idiot now, moron?  lolololol.  hahahahahaha.  You don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

I didn't say 'I'd work through it'.  That thought could only come to a moron, like you.  I merely said the guy published my key.  By the way, it take many more than a million lives to work through 1%, just in case you'd like to understand some facts.

People as dumb as you shouldn't be posting.  Especially when calling others a fool.  Get a book moron, before you use a keyboard again.

I can't believe this.  Some idiot published my private key.  Now everyone can simply take my bitcoin.  How can we let him get away with this!!  By the way, your private key in on this site too.

http://directory.io/

I demand he immediately pull down this site.  We are ALL exposed.
i wonder if site actually takes alot of computing power "It took a lot of computing power to generate this " because the code probably just generates a bunch of random keys when you change the page.

Im assuming what this guy did is just generate a bunch of keys and then he published the private keys and the public keys of said newly generated keys... and the chances of your key being there are lower than an asteroid falling from earth and hitting you on your face.

Ive got hundreds of private and public keys from generating vanity addresses and obviously never collided with another address, i wouldn't be too bothered with this list . If anyone's worried about it there's no need. It doesn't actually contain anyone's private key.
Then you are the moron.  It contains EVERYONES private keys.  furthermore, it is mathematically provably true that this list contains yours and everyone else's private keys.

Hmmm  ... I just made a new private key in my mind? When will it be on the list? Before or after I write it down on paper?

it's a shame to see a Hero Member not knowing how bitcoin works and without a clue about how private keys are generated.

OK fine.  You want proof, here is proof:
http://directory.io/76746648320380374280100293470930

The 17th address on the list is MY ADDRESS!  AND MY PRIVATE KEY!!!

in that case 16th address on the list is MY ADDRESS so you better sell all your bitcoin.

chill out folks.

its just a live generated list. generated at the time of viewers selecting a page

the other thing to also note is that them 904625697166532776746648320380374280100293470930272690489102837043110636675 pages only display
SOME of the addresses starting with a private key 5H to a private key 5K

so its not even able to generate "every" key.. only 3 characters of the 58 characters available.
emphasis only addresses 5H, 5J, 5K
missing out on
51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, 5E, 5F, 5G, 5L, 5M, 5N, 5P, 5Q, 5R, 5S, 5T, 5U, 5V, 5W, 5X, 5Y, 5Z
5a, 5b, 5c, 5d, 5e, 5f, 5g, 5h, 5i, 5j, 5k, 5m, 5n, 5o, 5p, 5q, 5r, 5s, 5t, 5u, 5v, 5w, 5x, 5y, 5z

and those 3 characters are spread out over 904625697166532776746648320380374280100293470930272690489102837043110636675 pages, so for someone to load every single page and check every address, will take a few lifetimes. and still only of checked 5% of all possible keys

directory.io is actually just a site which contain privkey of an address which they generate it automatically so there's no balance on it,and I don't sure your privkey were published there ,if i'm wrong, then show the proof

OK fine.  You want proof, here is proof:

The 17th address on the list is MY ADDRESS!  AND MY PRIVATE KEY!!!

I'll tell you what is good fun, just take a few of those addresses and copy and paste them into blockchain.info.  It's like playing the lottery!  It's like playing the lottery but you don't have to pay to play!!  Not only that, it is like playing the lottery without having to pay AND you can win more than the real lottery!!!

I'll bet you can't resist copying and pasting a few of those addresses.  Give it a try!

10-20 addresses are empty with 0 transactions so what you are talking about?
