I feel bad too, but the thing is in that year bitcoin is very cheap, we cannot say that what will be the possible future for bitcoin in that year, so it is not anybodies fault. I feel bad that this year that kibd of bitcoin is worth very expensive and it can make you rich but I think there is something good for you, just wait.

Thats crazy man, that poor guy lol, his family could have been living extremely comfortably right now but unfortunately **** happens. Hope someone manages to get them anyway, I'd hate to see them wasted

surely many people who have experienced such an event, and of course we really do not want it to happen to us but want how else
such events come to anyone and without any notice of course so with the incident we are required to be more vigilant and careful in doing something

Losing all that money will be depressing. And if that happens to me, I will not know what will I do. All we can do now is not to be careless. We need to be serious on this job and make this career as a passion. I hope that the guy is okay now. It will be nearly to impossible to forget the past but bitcoin is still waiting for you now to change your future. Every day, we have a chance to do it so grab the opportunity and invest.

loosing bitcoin is actually normal and it also happend to me . I think almost all of us who uses bitcoin do also experienced it because we are only humans and we arent perfect , we sometimes do mistake especially when we are still a newbie or beginner in the crypto scene but of course loosing does always happen not only in crypto but also in real life events. we may loose money , loose in a game , loose in a lovelife , loose a life , etc. But overall , it is all part of the game and this issue isnt something to be worried about at all.

The best thing we can do is to learn from our mistakes and start improving it.

This just goes to show how HODLing too long can cause complacency. You have to remain active in that which you believe in and even take the necessary precautions to ensure you don't lose what could amount to millions.

It is not about complacency, these things was a common factor in the beginning where people loosing their coins because people were not taking it seriously and usually they forget the private keys or the wallet itself because the system broke down and so on, i know a lot of people that lost their coins and i lost some coins and i do not even know my wallet address as i could not recover anything till now because my laptop HDD crashed and could not recover most of the files.

This is very unfortunate and I don't know how much the guy felt when this happened. I hope the guy will be alright and I want him not to be discourage about bitcoin. I also hope that he will be back in this industry with us. Lastly, I hope that this story will tell everyone to be more careful and have more focus on this job. Bitcoin will help us but we also need help ourselves.

Sad news for everyone and probably the worst nightmare anyone can have. Except this one is real and it is a total loss. I hope everyone reconsiders their bitcoins and alt coin security. Hacks have been rampant nowadays and I'm not taking any chances of getting hacked as well.

hacking today is more profitable than ever, while in the past it was done to spy on a girls computer, today you can steal money with it without beeing noticed, just from a computer

He's not the only one. So many people have lost their btc back in the day when it was worth a few bucks. If they knew it was going to be worth tens of thousands I am sure they would have been more careful. I mined btc with my desktop machine when it first came out...had dozens of them, but completely forgot about it and trashed the HDD. Luckily, I started investing in it again a few years later.

it is very unfortunately indeed. but i think these cases are necessary for bitcoin to rising more value.
we as a holders has learn about it and must protect our wallet carefully so the balance not locked on the wallet.

Its so sad and my sympathy for him. We should take a lesson from him that we should need save our back up file in several place and not make only one back up. Its very valuable right now

That amount of bitcoin is very big and for sure he are now crying because they lose a lot of money. They not interested to bitcoin in the year of 2011 it's because the price is very low and now they see the price is very big so that's why they want to open his account but he cannot open it if the file lose or gone. Some people also lose a lot of money because they lose their wallet and those wallet for sure offline wallet.

Sad sad day for major bitcoin investors. That's a lot of coins to begin with and with today's pricing, you've probably already owned an apartment and even a car for yourself. I'm deeply sorry for the loss but the burden is all on you. You've been careless with the files.

I have heard dozens of such stories and in some cases, the amount of lost coins numbered in tens of thousands (worth hundreds of millions of USD). You can't really blame them. Back in 2011, no one predicted that BTC will be having an exchange rate of $9,000 per coin after seven years.

I think if PC / computer used is still same, I think there is still a possibility of return, see from the last transaction that is in 2012 has been very long, but he several times have sent bitcoin either to backup address him or his friend. if I have personally identifiable information I may be able to help
