You are better off not doing that. It is impossible to predict when you should take profit and if a dip is coming.

If you are holding it long term, just buy it and hold. Slowly accumulate a bit more every time there is a dip.

Exactly, I'm hoping for the correction to get little more, I got in at 2700 and Again at 3000 and it keeps rising.
One thing I don't really know is if I want to take profit and wait for a dip, what currency do I go to. Sites like bittrex don't sell into dollar. Going to other crypto has its risk as well.
I'm actually a holder but with BTC, Ethereum, ltc all rising so much there has to be a correction even if it's a small one.
Any tips on that?
I will keep 1btc offline always Smiley

Danny: if your bet is with 5-10 years it's s a valid one otherwise we might note be even alive  Smiley

I watched a video where this guy talked about the price going to 1milj and what would be required. Basically we need to go from billion to trillions market cap to see a rise like that. Its not impossible but maybe unlikely in our lifetime. I do hope though Smiley

Hi guys,
I been sort of a enthusiast and involved in crypto since 2013 I think. I haven't been that active until last month when I really put tons of hours reading and catching up.
I have talked so much about crypto with family members that they ask me to save some funds for them in crypto and I believe BTC is the safest bet. I got some at 2700 but the price is going up like crazy, usually there is a correction but it seems BTC has a rocket in its behind Smiley
My question is for long term is it better to wait or is the price going to keep rising. Maybe we have a new bottom?
I know it's speculation but curious what people are thinking.

Other than that I'm glad to be a part of this great technology and promoting it.

As Bitcoin rally up this week straight there will be a big chance of correction but it wont be as deep as past bottom. It have a good chance to rally up greater than its all time high again. But nobody knows when will it have the correction.

Yes it is actually a miracle that bitcoin is growing so fast. Bitcoin boost all about the hard fork that corrected it recently and increased its efficiency along with the blockchain technology. Now for those people who don't really wanna go too technical it is like upgrading a Software by correcting its bugs. That's why it is more efficient now and pushing itself toward high values in the market. It wouldn't be long that bitcoin will catch a price of minimum 10K USD either this year or for sure next year. No matter how many people sell the bitcoin due to it's increased price, it will always go up as the big investors are far genuine about their investment and they will keep making it healthy forever. Bitcoin is rocking.

Yes. Bitcoin like having a rocket in the back push it up. And I believe that in the next few years, it will be worth more than anyone expected. Take advantage of the opportunity to get rich!

Exactly. That'a why Im holding my coins tight now for all we know bitcoin will rocket high sooner.
Just getting small amount when I needed badly some fiat then thats it. Like if its not necessary I wont touch my coins.
Holding for long term is they key for us to get rich in the future. As we all don't know when bitcoin will last.

first, BTC is not a bet, and there's no safe bet. If you do long term investmen, of course the btc is a better and a greater choice. The mount is limited, and the users keep growing. So more and more people are using it, more and more the price will climb high. Is not impossible the price will reach $1.000.000/btc, because if most of people are deciding to keep their money in btc than keep in the bank, you'll see the future currency that we're talking right now come true.

It is a good idea to save some of your investment in crypto currencies, for more secure long term investment Bitcoin is safer, but for short term you can hold alt coin nem, xem, eth if you know how to trade then you will see alt coin can gives more profit because the volatility is very high, crypto currencies is a very good investment for the future

Thanks for all the comments and great info.
To be honest i'm not even considering the one million dollar goal. Even at 10k is a huge gain.
I'm aware of the 21milj cap and the fact that so many people don't even know about BTC. So the market can and will grow for sure steadily. I have made many mistakes at the beginning where I was impulsive but I know better now that no matter what you don't sell when the market crashes!
About the whales, sure there are many but at the same time it the demand is there it will be picked up by people. I mean if I see a drop to 1800 I will but not sell. In that regard whales will just lose as I see it. It really feels like BTC is gold 2.0 of our era.
I also hold a little ETH, XEM, NEO, LTC and few others to spread the risk but still i believe BTC is king 😃
Maybe I'm too optimistic?
for altcoin ETH XEM NEO LTC I would advise for short term investment or trading though to spread the risk. it would be better to sell it if has got profit and buy again when the price is cheap because fluctuations in altcoin faster aim to maximize profits.

IT is just a joke... no one would honor such a bet which will only happen in 80-100 years. Grin
While the price may hit $1,000,000 people forget it maybe will go higher too...
But I think we should focus first on $10,000 and worry about 1 million after. Smiley

It's not about honoring the damn bet.
It's a bet he can't lose.

1) Bitcoin hits 1 million in our lifetime , he wins
2) Bitcoin does not reach 1 million in 2000 years , he still hasn't lost as 2000 years does not mean NEVER. Maybe in 3000 will

Dollar average is the best way to invest. Don't try to day trade.

To each his own. I would frame it this way: Most traders will fail. On average, it's probably smarter to invest for the long term, realizing gains over the course of years rather than worrying about short term peaks and troughs (and potentially losing coins while doing so). However, some people do very well at trading. I've known crypto traders who have definitely made millions of dollars by now trading BTCUSD and altcoins. It all depends on your trading abilities, willingness to learn and risk management.

I think bitcoin is the choice for investment, it can be for long and medium term, my family and I also save bitcoin and I do not sell it, I only sell Bitcoin when the price is good and can give profit.

I know it's speculation but curious what people are thinking.

I am 100% certain that it is going to go to $1,000,000 per 1 BTC in the future.

I am so certain about this, that I am willing to commit to pay you 10 BTC if it never reaches an exchange rate of $1,000,000 per 1 BTC.
This is a bet? Are you sure that bitcoin will increase to that level? I do not have faith in it. Can you give more convincing evidence, such as how long bitcoin will reach such a level. I need a specific time to place my trust in it. Thank you.

It's very possible. The question is.. When? It might be 80-100 years from now. Whereas you, DannyHamilton, the people that's joined in on the bet, and I would be probably dead already.  Cheesy

Anyway, back on topic. I too, got in bitcoin, or cryptocurrency in general, a year or so ago. I still have huge hopes on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies but take note that bitcoin also has a chance of failing. Yes. Not spreading FUD here, just being very realistic. In the future out of nowhere an altcoin could just beat bitcoin in every other category and steal the number 1 spot from bitcoin. That's the main reason I always suggest diversifying investments to people, and not only invest in bitcoin alone.

Well, many have posted the same and been in doubt at first. I dont know if they bought a coin ever since they posted that. But if they did and listened to some of the users here that are encouraging them to buy then they may have profited by now.
That is all I can say. Don't wait up too much or you might regret it.

Never is the key word here. I think he is not getting it, Danny.

 Wink

The thing is OP, nobody really knows where Bitcoin is going to go and even if Danny is making this bet, you can be sure that

10 BTC will never be transferred to you. Danny will honour the bet,

I will absolutely honor the commitment.  If Bitcoin never reaches $1,000,000, then I will send the 10 BTC.

but how much will $1 000 000 be worth in 30 years from now?

30 years?  I don't know.  Probably more than $0.001/BTC.  Almost certainly less than $1,000,000,000,000,000/ BTC.

Is that Zim Dollars... ?

Nah. U.S. dollars.

This will continue on and on until it reaches a 5-figure price. But of course, we should be expecting some ups and downs along the way. That is very normal.

I would not want to be so categorical. One million US dollars for one bitcoin? That's cool. In my opinion, I have not yet seen such forecasts. There were ten thousand, one hundred thousand, three hundred thousand, but there was not a million. I do not even know if he will be able to reach such heights. However, it is no coincidence that the bitcoin's variable coin, satoshi, is one hundred millionth of bitcoin. Apparently, bitcoin is programmed for a very high rate. I would like to believe.
