I think its time to wait if altcoins you are holding has good project background. Currently most of the crypto hunters are behind BTC and they should be as this is the most dominating cryptocurrency but stagnancy is always there, one day investment in BTC will become stagnant, people will start pulling money from BTC and will start investing into altcoins.I believe growth in altcoins will be much much more as compared to BTC. So I suggest you to keep holding your altcoins and wait for the right time.
I think that upset anybody. Because the cryptocurrency market has always been and will be changeable. And this should not get hung up. It is always necessary to adapt to the market and never will be vice versa.
Market will always favor Bitcoin whatever it my cost because more than half of he community i#investing in this rank number 1 coin and only few amount allotted in altcoins so if Op is hurting because of Bitcoin bullrun this is he’s choice since he can just have diversified his folio and put some amount to bitcoin so if alt paused from pumping still bitcoin will do. 
Please as an altcoin investor, please stop hurting us, this is so damn cruel.
You hurt yourself when you believe you can make quick money from altcoins/icos, most altcoin investors lack the patience and knowledge required to invest in the bitcoin, thus they look for escape routes in the altcoins, but you're quick to forget that clearly almost of them lack value,stability,usecase etc, the bitcoin would always remain miles ahead of any other cryptocurrency.Rather than whine and whine, I'll advice you sell your altcoins and use them to purchase bitcoins, sounds better to me.

I know this happened to a lot of investors and traders but the best thing now is to wait, to be patient, to stay calm since you might make a not so good decision that will affect you in the future and also your future in investing and trading. You should be used by it since that will not be the first time you will be experiencing that, keep on holding.

I still love bitcoin ever have and love too altcoin so much, i will focusing that both, bitcoin and altcoin. so, this fact i bought Bitcoin on 6 month ago, still hold right now. then 5 month ago i bought some altcoin, step by step still buying right now.Your strategy is okay . i dont find anything wrong in alts as long as you are buying potential alts and not just those hype alts that we are seeing today . bitcoin on the otherhand is also a good addition or better if you can prioritize it and make it as your main investment . frustration is there due to the market changes and other factors but we shouldnt be affected with it because this will only kill our goals

I still don't understand why people invested so much on the alts. In the world of crypto-currency, there is no room for 100,000 different coins. At the most, 100 or 200 may survive for the long term. The problem when we have so many different altcoins is that even if a project is good, it gets drowned out among thousands of other crap projects. And what surprises me the most is the resilience from the investors, who continue to pour down their hard earned money in to these shitcoins again and again, despite incurring crippling losses everytime they do so.
In the end, people would always ignore the copycats unless the latter could prove that they are substantially better than the original product. In case of altcoins, this hasn't happened. They are not superior to the original product (Bitcoin) and most of them were created just to fatten the pockets of the promoters.
It was a lesson learned from nown on, OP. Altcoins doesn't have a problem if well managed and well traded. But greed will always messed up trades and we should know that for sire now that you lost a lot of money. Especially when you chose new released coin and not potential coin.
Many altcoins holders now are really frustrated and i really feel there loss, but i think bitcoin will continue to be stronger and many altcoins will crashed, that's why many investor are choosing to put there money on bitcoin over altcoins now.
Bitcoin will always run a monopoly against other all other altcoins because it has no regulation and there is no central figure to call shots except the bitcoin community as a whole, that has brought trust and adoption to bitcoin compared to other alts.

You can either convert your coins to BTC, or sell them for fiat. It is up to you to make the decision.

You can still make profit out of btc, just stop crying for alts.. Now a days it touching 12k-13k then coming down to around 10k. Just look around buy at dip. There is a saying in trading market 'Buy the Rumor, Sell the News'. But very volatile market.

Gone are the days when useless projects could garner a market capitalization of $100 million, or even $1 billion. The users are more matured and experienced now. Promising projects such as Ethereum and Cardano may attract investments, but worthless ones such as DOGE and Tron are going to die. If you don't want to lose your money, then convert whatever alts you have to either BTC or fiat.

I am furious at bitcoin today, just furious to high hell, look at what its done to my $50,000 investment in HST decision token
Opportunity missed is missed forever with altcoins, bitcoin and the top listed altcoins were not the same. You've got an opportunity to profit big that what bitcoin provides as the price of HST decision token has reached $2.5+ value. This is not with you alone more people around has experienced the same impact of being greed investing on altcoins.The altcoins were truly potential, but the greed of bigger and bigger profit kept me look for a better opportunity leaving the opportunity that we got. Hope some day you and everyone who missed their profit will get back.

So damn frustrated with bitcoin as it keeps on crushing altcoins like HST decision token
it's an Ethereum token, its dev could force/request exchanges to offer only ETH/HST and FIAT/HST trade pairs without any BTC trade pair, your token would somewhat be freed of BTC dependency
but then you would start complaining that ETH is crushing on your HST token
You will only get frustrate when all of your coins has no price in the market. Yes, bitcoin is one of the most valuable coin that you should buy or invest all you have to do is always be patience all the time and wait for the right time to sell or to trade when it comes to your coins.

You will only have yourself to be blame for your own investment decision. Maybe your thoughts was that one day the altcoins in which you invested will move higher in value the way bitcoin has move to the moon and it happen that the movement went against your expectation and that is why you are crying like a baby.
i think my answer need to relax* because it explained why price fall because from selling rate of crypto to convert it to cash but its going to change and hell fast....because when the rate selling will going close to zero and people dont need to conevrt it to money the prices will surge without even demand grow and market cap some how fucked up here...hhhhh
they will buy with this crypto directly which different from selling
