It has become clearly evident that bitcoin will dominate the world as the global number 1 cryptocurrency, that's is OK with me.
BUT...
what I am finding really frustrating is all the retail, and institutional money that will only ever flow into bitcoin and will never, ever touch any altcoins.
Sure bitcoin is the master, the supreme, the original crypto, but for gods sake, its now the only cryptocurrency.
Surely out of the 2000+ altcoins, some of these will be almost as powerful as bitcoin.

The altcoins have been smashed of late, purely by the greed of bitcoin, sucking up the global fiat money.

Every altcoin has been sold off and money shoveled into bitcoin.  WHEN IS THE PAIN GOING TO STOP!

I have lost so much money on my altcoin HST decision token, purely based on the greed of bitcoin.

Please as an altcoin investor, please stop hurting us, this is so damn cruel.

That's why we must be careful of our investment in altcoins because not all altcoin are strong in the market and it gonna crash easily if investors will dump their alt and invest in bitcoin but if the alts are strong and have a little demand in the market , that's pretty sure of increasing its value .

What you have to do if you are holding your altcoin for so long and it still not making profit is to sell them off.  Unburden yourself. The only that matters as of now is BTC, you will find Altcoins to be good later when BTC touches up to $25k+. Join the fun because its where the fun is. I got frustrated as well, I'm a holder of altcoins for so long I even have the ones that moved it s token to another platform.

Bitcoin is the economic center of all crypto currency markets. Because the BTC trading partner at each exchange, then the influence of Bitcoin on Altcoins will always be there. Altcoins tend to be used to fund Bitcoin running, and Bitcoin tends to fund Altcoins operations. Given this relationship, the movement of the price of Bitcoin tends to have an effect on the price of Altcoins.

Actually, you have a loss of your money in altcoin, that's why you are really frustrated and blame on bitcoin. In this situation, if we convince you, so  may be you do disagree with us, because you have not bear your loss, that's why i only give you one suggestion, altcoin and bitcoin both are different on investment wise, in altcoin we have a lot of risk but in bitcoin we have little bit, and most of the chance you could earn profit from bitcoin.
So next time, invest your money only on Bitcoin.

This not a fact! Institutional Investors are more likely going to invest in a project that's in line with their products and services and will help grow their business and not based on a coins rank. These investors are not just experimenting but in this to make money!

They say "It's always darkest just before the break of dawn" I guess being an altcoin investor you have to hang in there and have plenty of heart and patience.

This is the reason why you should not put all your money in one basket. In such a volatile market such as crypto it is always intelligent to diversify.

Do not be fooled by too much with OP obsession with this completely worthless token, as I write before it was above $5 at the beginning of 2018, and since then is in a constant decline. The only connection with BTC is that most of people sold altcoins and invest in coins with purpose, not is some inessential coin placed in 700+ place on CMC.

What I see here is only shilling for that token, but who will invest in something like that at this time? OP wake up and returns to reality, you invest in wrong coin and this is the essence of the whole story.

You should know that alt coin is a very risky investment, and its only being used for speculation and trading, eventually the investors will dump alt coin and back to bitcoin, if you see the market is not too good for alt just cutloss, because once it goes down it will be hard to bouncrle back, and stop playing with alt if you dont have the basic knowledge about crypto
Stop playing when you are not fully equipped as this market is really risky for impatient traders, you'll lose your money if you don't mind looking for a good reason why you are here and continue your investment, you have to be specific when placing your money.

Bounce back will be there when  you are willing to wait for the market to bring you the rewards that you expect.

The game is *buy low, sell high.*  Not *buy low and pray* or *buy high and hope.*

 Cheesy

One would see this if he really think in a realistic way, buy low and sell high is just a simple principle in trading but not everyone can do it effectively.

First, Its important to understand how crypto works before investing your money in it to become aware of what to expect.

Bitcoin and altcoins are different and has their own uses, the price increase of bitcoin just shows how it dominate the crypto world but it doesnt mean alts have no chance to follow the path of btc. I have altcoins too in my crypto portfolio but I didnt lose hope, im just waiting for the right time to sell even it takes a long period.

Well, the wisest crypto investors always knew this about Bitcoin. Bitcoin is crypto, but crypto is not bitcoin,,, just remember that. Why would investors put serious money into altcoins when merchants countries and banks all see the threat in the shape of bitcoin? When you see exchanges and buy alts, what do you buy it with? Bitcoin of course. Accept crypto? Bitcoin first. You go and accept alt only and see what happens.Smiley
May i ask somthing.. you said that crypto  is not bitcoin  but bitcoin is crpyto.. so altcoin is also crypto? Is it so?

Well it totally depends  on your greed.. You have to keep patience.. and you have to keep your emotions in control.. if you can't  so just stop trading.. altcoins is not responsible of anything...

Dude, if you can't stop being too emotional then you should quit trading.

Yes, there is no room for negative emotions as it will just mess up things. You are not the only one who suffered losses and deficient funds. You have to know the fact that the moment you decided to enter trading, high risk is associated. Volatility is our enemy here. Hope you learned your weaknesses. Altcoin trading or even bitcoin trading is  profitable when you know the consequences and the right strategies to integrate.

I certainly was not greedy in my choice of altcoin, it got smashed as bitcoin rose, its just my bad luck.  The simple fact is that bitcoin needs the altcoin market as much as the altcoin market needs bitcoin.  Many people trade altcoins and make significant profits which they then buy more bitcoins and vice-versa.

So to state that over 2000+ coins are worthless when comparing to bitcoin is just outrageous.
If you don’t consider why people now are going straight to bitcoin and taking their investments in altcoin then you will never satisfied on your folio.
Better find this situation favorable to you by buying this cheaper value of each alts while bitcoin is continuing dominating the market, then in future you will be finding good profit

It is important to understand that with what mindset are you willing to invest. Building stamina for risk taking is basic essential in the investment world and owning your own decision is what helps you to analyse your decisions. Yesterday it was a bitcoin that was suffering and today some of the others are, this is the trend where one cannot predict completely what will happen next and this is what it makes the whole trading experience exciting.

My first question to you is, "Why do we need altcoins?"

Having 2 or 3 altcoins is ok, but certainly not in thousands! We don't need different different altcoins for each separate activities, which are actually making things more complex for us all! Having few altcoins like ETH, EOS or even Steller is ok, but why do we need separate coins for each activities? Majority of these altcoins are trying to solve problems that doesn't even exist and make no sense at all! Only the investments are getting divided!

Seriously, as an old crypto adopter, I seriously believe that we don't need altcoins, Bitcoin is the king and it will remain as the king!

I have always asked this to my friends who tout altcoins too.

Yes, I get it. For every good thing, no matter how good, there can always be an alternative, and in fact, alternatives spur competition, make things even better, so could even be necessary for bitcoin to have alternatives. But exactly, 2 or 3 alternatives for sure, each one developed for a specific use. Monero, Litecoin, even Ethereum (no matter I don't like it).

But to have 100 tokens that are CLAIMED to be for the same thing yet none of them are actually ever used for such? This is the disaster that brought crypto to its knees.
I agree. I would have done great if I had just stayed with Ethereum and Bitcoin. But then there is a kind of adventure  if you're investing in a new project and even more exciting if it's a project that will help people...and sometimes you do make some profit.
