It's not only on Bitcontalk, but there are also on Fiverr two years ago I used to see a lot of sellers of course not to mention on social media like Facebook groups that are related to Cryptocurrency and Bitcointalk, this should not be tolerated I have seen a lot of users here with very good posts but are not getting merits and poor posts with merits, scammers are the one using this method to stabilize their reputation.
I really dont understand why some members are buying merits. Obviously they will rank up when garnier a lot of merits but isnt it much convenient to post something useful and has some quality to get merit right?
They buy merits because they don't know how to speak English properly or knowledge-wise they don't have anything to add the forum, therefore it is almost impossible for them to rank up naturally. Ranking-up and posting good stuff may look easy to you but there are many people that don't even understand what bitcoin is and still want to post here because of the sig camps.

Probably he got a lot of hig rank members who still have plenty of airdrop merits and these are the accounts he ia using for trading merits.

It's very hard to rank up for people who didn't have much creativity on constructing a merit deserving post. The main target here are those newbie and other low rank user who's struggling on getting merit.
Only few low rank member are successfully ranking in synchronised to there activity growth since most of the merit from merit source are being distribute to all high rank member that creating constructive post. A normal crypto people here that just regularly replying on a general discussion thread will not gonna rank up.

There's a big player in this scheme because the accused is a newbie that doesn't have any merits for themselves meaning that the person that is trying to sell merits is probably someone that is confident that he/she won't get caught from it because either the person behind is a quality poster or too reputable to be questioned with how they are sending their merits.
Quite curious to why have you come up with this. You mean like a syndicate? I believe he just probably bought some account with merits and trying to sell it back.

2. Using account which already tagged, which means more tag won't affect the seller.

Never mind this reply. I do not think creating a thread for a newbie account is necessary. I saw the account has been tagged before, you and I too tagged the account because merit selling should be forbidden. You can also report the thread for deletion while also making comment in case, on the thread. I think that is perfectly enough in this case.
This thread is also important for newbie. They tend to use different shortcuts to get merit and even become interested in buying because of their limited knowledge about merit. There is also a need to create such threads like mine to not only delete such merit selling threads by reporting but also to warn newbies.
I think newbies need to be more careful to be more interested in using their talents without being attracted to any forbidden things.
However, to sell merit, it must come from somewhere. Right? It means that the one who sells has an account from which he can send these merits. We don't know who it is.

This user is trying to sell Merit, which of course violates the rules of Bitcointalk. Newbie members of Bitcointalk need to understand that merit is not a thing to buy and sell. Those who do such activities are scammers and their main purpose is to scam people by showing greed. There are many on Bitcoin who do not get merit because their post is not eligible for merit, as a result of which they may fall victim to such scams for some merit.
