Very beautiful article and although explanation is not 100% accurate it gives indication why gambling can make you addicted to it.
Thanks for this article, it's really interesting. Reassuring to see not we humans are the only gamblers. However personally I've never heard about pigeons gathering huge gambling debts. Perhaps they would if they could tho'

You are right. People should understand that they cannot win every bet they make. Gambling addiction is perfectly explained here, new gamblers would find it quite easy to leave addiction if they read such things. But gamblers like me who have been too old now in this addiction are hard to be told such things.

Very correct, anyone who has recently started to gamble should check it for sure. I think people should understand that gambling sites are designed in such a way that they wont loose, basically because they have bigger bankroll then yours. 
I call this addiction 'the dangling carrot on a stick' type because getting the incentive in front of you ( the jackpot) makes you spend more and more money. Actually a lot of companies specializing in free to play games with microtransactions employ psychologists who help create the addicting schemes in the gameplay which are focused on you spending more cash for obtaining that in-game goal. 'Nickle and dime you to death' is just preying on peoples' addiction too.

Yes there is a very fine line between going mad and being sensible too. Gamblers often get mad while playing and they loose all money, while if they can remain in their senses in bad situations they would profit much more.

Yeah it's safe to say that a regular gambler is an addicted gambler. Since there is consistency. It's wrong I know, but inevitable if there is a pattern in your gambling.

what ever study or books , no one can change the mentality of the gamblers , everyone knows that on long term will be in loss then also on a small hope they just do gambling, telling advice is very good but following it is hard.
I used to gamble a lot in the past, even tho I have always been a casual, for fun gambler, but the study nonetheless explains how it works, I know that a true addict is very hard to recover, but not impossible tho, with professional treatment it can be done.

This study explains nothing but is quite basic which anyone can explain actually. I think gambling is not a disease which cant be treated, if you cure gambling addiction with proper treatment, it would work and you will leave it quite easily.
