It's quit funny that someone who is struggling to rank up is directing newbies on where to runk up Grin one this is certain,  if you don't make quality post, no matter how you apply you won't still get the Merit. Merit can come at any where you are making post, or even when you are in your local board. A Merit deserving post will receive merit.

One thing you should also bear in mind is that most people are not here for merit. Some came hear to scam people, some came to advertise their products while some came to learn about Bitcoin and they always put their very best interest in making sure they contribute meaningfully. Directing them there doesn't change any fact about them or who they are.

Yes, studying is what a beginner must do because by studying we will certainly gain a lot of insight and ultimately create quality discussions on this forum. Yes, reporting local posts that have not received benefits is indeed very useful and very helpful for forum members because sometimes there are always good posts that have not received rewards.

but the point is that if we have good posts, the reward will come by itself. and of course if we report our posts if they are not of good quality then we will not be given a reward because those who deserve a reward are people who have good posts.

It's true op, we shouldn't just rely on local reports, so we really have to learn a lot from the forum members here who are experienced. So by learning a lot from the experienced members of this forum, our insight will indeed increase and if our insight has increased, of course we will find it easy to get a reward.

Yes it is a very meritorious thread, including other threads that exist specifically in the local councils of each country. or you can see this https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/v2self-moderated-in-merits-count-down-to-your-next-rank-5445913 and this https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/merit-share-your-best-poststhreads-with-fillippone-to-be-merit-assessed-5412657 , In addition, it is also an important factor that newbies are advised to improve the format of writing with a cause and purpose because a constructive thread must be with clear conditions, there are some threads that confuse contributors including if the user who will help is not speaking English in his daily life. When the writing is correct about the content of the discussion can be a complete gathering of information, Op can moderate which should be made part of the thread. A lot of merit is also given to newbies even though it is too fast, but everyone deserves merit even from the latest topic. good luck.

Newbies who find theirselves eager to earn merits than to learn from the forum first and foremost are actually those who are here to satisfy their greed for profits. Because if you are a responsible forum member, you will never chase for merits immediately, but will do a lot of research and studies first so you will be familiar about bitcoin and its whole crypto space.

Op you are a member and you are telling your colleagues to rank tips while you still like this, or is it that you are practicing what you are telling them. Because even though your activities delay you by now and comparing the time of this thread December 15, 2023, 10:45:12 PM to this point, you supposed to have like 50+ merit and above. And find from your expression of the merit system.to rank up, you are not a new member here but an alt.

And others have said, they 2 things to do to rank up. Quality and constructive. And if you are not any of the above then you can't fetch any merit to rank up. Therefore be qualitative and constructive in your posting.

In my opinion, most important thing is to stay active, making posts, or help other user like answering questions in threads, that's enough. Because usually those who need merit those who want to increase their rank and have only one goal, to take part in campaigns such as bounties or services. Behind it all there is the time and dedication that we need to earn merit.

Being active and helpful to others is enough to get you good merit. Atimes merit even come to post that you don't even expect. So constructive post and reply with patience are all you need to go on this forum.

Learning is a very important thing to do especially being new to the forum, we've to dedicate or time to be consistent in our learning journey in order to perfectly understand the forum, bitcoin and be able to contribute meaningfully to the forum activities. I believe merit shouldn't be the bone of contention here, but meaningful contribution that will come after dedicating time to learning. I believe merit follows naturally as a dividend of meaningful and quality engagements.

The link above offers merit to only posts in local board from my discovery. Nice one though and thanks for sharing

There is one more thing I want to add on as there is a misconception that a post or thread or response has to be lengthier in order to get noticed or get merit but that's not the case as it's the context of the message and how helpful it is  and regardless if it's just 100 characters or 100 words doesn't make the difference as long as it's helpful to others.
I write very long responses.  It means a lot of Members will not read them.  But I do not write responses so every body can notice me.  I write only out of passion and because that is how I write.

It is different if you consider writing a Thread.  Particularly if they are informative.  You need to get the job done.  Inform the readers without boring them out and with no confusion.  But for normal Threads and replies, I think over doing it is not only unnecessary but also annoying and very noticeable.

In this perspective newbies must educate themselves. Faster a user can gain knowledge in the Bitcoin or cryptocurrency space, the faster he can help others. It is a knowledge sharing platform where one acquires and imparts knowledge from one another.

A newbie may not be aware of many things in the forum due to which he has to learn only at the initial stage. It is, however, difficult to achieve merit by him in the learned state. But when he has good ideas he can earn quick merit as well as get high rank through his quality full posts. As a newbie it is important not to run towards merit first but to gain knowledge.

As you mentioned if we started learning and share our knowledge then merits will chase us rather than we chasing merits.

Irrespective of all these guides, if your post is not a quality post, you will still not get the merits from hugeblack.
Merit is a reward to our quality contribution in the forum, it is not a must that you will get merits or rank up in this forum, you can only get merits if you h=give quality contributions to the forum through answering questions and sharing useful information and knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. You will see some users with a lot of activity, but lacks merits because they are not posting quality contents or they are not given any quality contributions to the forum.

People have different reasons for being here in the Bitcointalk forum, and that is why some new ranks members are after merits to rank up their accounts and get them fixed in signature campaigns, and really some members are here just to learn about Bitcoin and general cryptocurrency and how to provide proper security to their funds. If someone is a total newbie that doesn't have any knowledge about Bitcoin and it changes after merits at an early level, it may be a distraction for them to be learning properly because they never focus on things they are supposed to learn at the beginning of the cryptocurrency journey but only look for merits. But if newbies can give themselves a good time to learn first, they will find it easy to rank up because they will always be in good discussions in the forum, and they will not always be after creating threads that have been created before.

The truth is most of the newbies joining this forum recently are not typical newbies but a bunch of already ranked up members disguising as newbies in order to rank up and enroll in signature campaigns as many as possible while, the typical newbies are not after the knowledge they're supposed to acquire in this forum. This is very obvious when you see new accounts or member ranks are so focused on merits other than making meaningful and helpful contributions in the forum.

Most of us join the forum without even knowing anything about the merit but that is not longer the story of the day. It's not a bad idea to know about the forum or merits system as a newbie but it's also important to be aware of how you are to acquire those merits the same way you know it exists. Sharing your post to be merited is not entirely bad but as a newbie but that should not be their priority because it'll be a distraction.

This link below are for those newbie that is finding hard to rank up and you know you have some post that deserves merit. Just click the link below read the rules and apply. I just recently come across it.

The forum has a lot of merit sources that are helping members  to ranking up their accounts. However, these  merit sources don't just merit posts; they also always merit good posts that are worth meriting. For this reason, even if newbies submit a post that they think is worthy of being merited, it won't be merited.

However, to be honest, the fact that  hugeblack thread patterning deals with local boards some of which, in my opinion, have excellent posts might make it more attractive to the thread than other thread patterns of merit sources. It will be an excellent chance for newcomers who perform well on their local board.

I think newbies like me shouldn't think too much about merit, just think of it as a gift from forum members because there is value in the post. at least that's what I've learned from several months of being on this forum. If you have interesting posts, constructive comments, take part in keeping forums alive, both local and main forums, I think people will be happy to give their merits. Maybe I'm wrong, but for newbies like me and others, don't focus on merit, but make posts and comments with high "value".

People have different reasons for being here in the Bitcointalk forum, and that is why some new ranks members are after merits to rank up their accounts and get them fixed in signature campaigns, and really some members are here just to learn about Bitcoin and general cryptocurrency and how to provide proper security to their funds. I will definitely say you are just directly leading other newbies down the wrong path, which is very wrong. This link you shared is purposely meant to help many members that are complaining due to the shortage of merit sources in their local board, which hugeblack suggested to help. But for your information, this is not a quick rank-up scheme, but something that is being created in order to sustain and encourage those that are giving adequate and quality contributions and opinions on their local board. You can’t even submit any links. There are rules that need to be followed, and if you seize to follow those rules, you will end up getting neutral trust. If I am not mistaken, in his rules, he states that “You can only participate a single time per month; if you repeat the participation more than once per month, the link you added will be deleted, and you may get natural trust.” So I see no reason you will be directing newbies there to rank up their accounts.

Of course learning is the most important thing to focus on as a newbie, whereby the quality of your post will surely determine on how you will earn merit, the prominent members do check and view posts and if you are lucky enough they found something new and clear that is an achievement to the platform you will earn merit from them so let just keep the good work ongoing.
Ranking up is quite good which merit is one of the criteria but learning and acquiring knowledge would have been much better for a newbie because the more you read threads and learn how to make a quality and reasonable contributions merits will surely come .

I know that every newbies wants to earn merits , yes it’s quite understandable that most individual wants to grow at all Cost not minding the genuine processes that might take time but will yield effective profits .
Hence, I will advice newbies to focus more on the learning aspects than the merits aspects because when you are knowledgeable enough to make a quality post merits will surely come thanks .

Ranking up in the forum pretty fast as you put it depends on how much work you have put into making quality, constructive posts and the rank you are aiming it.

Using you as an illustration. You registered for a BTT account in December 2022, and up until now, you have been a member. Given how pretty fast someone can rank up you in the forum, is having a member rank is it what you strive for? Since ranking up in the forum is pretty fast.

For your notice, a newbie can't just rank up when contributing less to posts made, or trying not to navigate through the whole forum to make a constructive post, or submit some of their posts on a meriting thread like the one you shared but the thread is meant for local board quality post that lacks merits.

I know many people will be jumping on the link right now to get easy and quicker means of ranking up  Grin, No quality post, no merit. If you want to rank up, you still have to work for it, that is your reward for being hardworking. Nothing good comes easy, even in this forum. There is no short cut anywhere,  you still need to make a quality and well constructed post to earn the merits. Anyone who is serious about ranking up should prove it by dedicating his/her time to learning and everything you need to learn is in this forum, no special tutorials needed.

I encourage every newbie here to try their best. Many people who have once been on this forum left out of frustration of not getting the merits they need inorder to rank up. But nothing works well without much effort. Keep trying and merits will come to you.

That's not entirely correct either as even if you don't have local board you can still apply. If you check hugeblack merit history you will see that he merited posts made in Pakistan and Bangladesh threads, which are not local boards as of yet.
But of course, technically those ones can safely be regarded as LBs too as they're in the "Other Languages/Locations" section of the forum. As long as their citizens do meet and post in their chosen language and reflex on things happening locally in their countries, I take them as LB.

Applying on the thread that you posted the link above is not a guarantee that you will get merit, if it is a low quality post.

What matters is, creating a quality post that will be educative to forum members. You should also not think about ranking up since you don't have the knowledge, but get the knowledge by dedicating yourself to be reading more and DYOR, this is because you cannot give out what you don't have. By the time that you have acquired some knowledge, you will see that you will start contributing quality post that will be helpful, and begore you know it, the merits will be coming.
