I am a miner and Verge has low difficulty, which I like. However it’s price shows it has been stagnant for a long time, not considering the bump it got in Dec.

It claims to be a privacy coin and I haven’t found the news about it showing its IP address. I might continue to mine it until I find a better coin and do more research.

Spectrecoin. One of the best privacy coins and it's worth nothing right now.

I have been mining Verge for about a week. What does everyone think about this coin, does it still have room to grow or is it past it's prime already?
If we consider purely technical analysis, the prospects for growth are very weak. It takes time to set the average rate after such a strong rise and fall after that. I wouldn't be buying that coin right now, may be you could to look at it again after six months .

I looked at Verge too but was turned off when I realized I need a separate wallet. When it comes to privacy I stick with Monero for now, also seems to be more widely accepted. The best privacy is doing nothing if there are no vendors who accept the coin.

Verge(XVG) coin is a cryptocurrency for everyday use where it aims to fulfill its initial purpose of supplying individuals and businesses with fast, efficient and decentralized way of making direct transactions while maintaining personal privacy. It's current price value for now is $ 0.053175 USD and starting to recover based on the price chart. My personal view is that there is still a good potential for price growth in the coming months.

This is exactly the kind of "nothing" statement I'm talking about. Ignores all the arguments against it and comes out with some empty words about "good potential" without any evidence to back up the claim.

Where did you find the news about the dev team?

Here is Kieran Daniels,  the VP of marketing for Verge, talking about how the entire dev team quit and how Verge is a pump and dump scam:

I personally cannot recommend rebooted coin as investment
I prefer completely new coin, even if it's just a clone/fork
POW and no pre-mine is a must

Logically, when a coin fails in the past, someone will buy a huge portion of it, then hodl, then reboot
Then magically he/she will be the new emperor

Verge could have been a good coin. But I think the devs ruined it's future. U can buy it for some quick swings but I won't recommend it for long term.

I consider Verge a very promising coin. But it must be bought and kept for a long time. She perfected the original blockchain of bitcoin at the expense of anonymous networks. Such as Tor and i2p. It supports several mining algorithms. This coin has a very strong social support. If you keep it for a long time, then it will bring a good profit.

Every time when the bull market comes, there are some people like to speculation coins, such as this time, people put the verge price high.
But I do not like the coin, because obviously someone manipulated the price.
Rather than investing in such speculative coins, invest in other good coins, such as eth and noe.

Threads like this perfectly illustrate why you need to do your own research, and not just believe what you read written on this forum. I honestly cannot believe people are saying this is a long-term hold, a solid coin, or that they are only hearing good things about it.

Verge is supposedly a "privacy coin", but it openly displays its users' IP addresses. This is as about as anti-privacy as you can get. It utterly fails at what it is supposed to do. Couple that with the fact the entire dev team quit, it has missed the deadlines for Wraith Protocol over and over again, and it has been pumped and dumped in to oblivion, this coin is 100% trash.

But don't just believe me. Go do your own research and verify what I say is true.

Thanks for that info. Where do you research coins besides this site and Google?

Read the whitepaper and evaluate it. Read this forum, other forums, news sites, twitter, facebook, reddit, github. See what logical arguments are being made, not just people spouting empty statements like "long term hold", "great team", "great community" or "to the moon".

Verge is legit. Fast as fuck. Optional privacy with two levels of obfuscation. Great wallet. Ring signatures under development. RSK smart contracts under development. Can supposedly already atomic swap. Tokenpay incoming. Interview with Forbes coming up. Great, sort of nutso community in general. Buy / mine the hell out of this coin or you will regret it for the rest of your life.

I was a great investor of this currency, today not so much. Indenpendent of the destructive and constructive critics, of the neutral councils and great councils, Verge is a solid currency and has been gaining fame in the market for some time, with this we must do our own analysis, I do not particularly see it as a bomb and dump, I see it as an investment for the medium and long term.

verge is pumped so hard that it can not recover for a long time. Its price was so low but it got pumped because of some fomo. You can of course mine it but do not expect too much thing from that coin, just mine for fun
