Ico token price drops after ICO mostly due to private sales. Private sales participants get their token at a ridiculously los price do much bonus of which they can decide to sell at below the ico price and stil be in huge profit
Investors was holing a very important role in this case. When we are seeing the legit project and most of them are getting a lot of bonus that they will dump it instantly. there are some other reason for that too just like a partnership or advertising like bounty, etc.
- Well, investors are really responsible for this issue when they are holding a lot of tokens, and if the price of the token drops, the biggest reason is still only them, except for them, maybe the developers of the project are the next characters that we should think of when they are the ones who directly create these tokens, they also hold a large number. Bounty hunters really is not too much involved in this story because the reward is always distributed very late and the quantity is very small, it is not enough to reverse the trend of a token

I think token dump after listing is cause of some factors like when investors are given outrageous bonuses. Some projects gives bonuses like 90% and even 100%, which is virtually giving out the token freely. Secondly, if the project doesn't have a working product and convincing roadmap their is a great chance of dump. Then the quantity of token they give out freely in bounties or airdrop might contribute but this doesn't happen often.

bonuses is normal when you want to boost your pre sale, the most common factor is that, imagine the participants of a certain bounty program will sell all their coin simultaneously the result will really affect the price of a coin specially if the team behind it has no concrete plan to make further step for the success of the coin.

In my opinion, the price of the token drops because the market does not respond to new coins because of the price of the whole coin that falls, or at the same time many new coins are traded on the crypto market so the choice for new coins is very small.
It is possible to enter the crypto market at the wrong time, which is caused by a lot of negative reporting about crypto money so investors are reluctant to invest while waiting for the right time, because crypto trading is strongly influenced by momentum.

the market has not been perfectly formed, most of the ICO projects did not pay attention to that. most ICO token holders definitely want to sell and wait for buyers on the market. if the buyer does not exist and only buys at a lower price because the market is indeed still weak, then those who want to sell are forced to sell at a low price. therefore causing prices to decline.

This is the reason why the price of a coin / token always drops after entering an exchange
  • Give too many bonuses to investors
  • hold a bounty with a large allocation
  • entering the wrong exchange can also make prices go down because of the lack of demand for these coins / tokens, but many people want to sell

Token price is dropping because they need to implement the development what they mentioned on the roadmap. Once after listing the price of a coin will increase in the market and drops due to the people who bought the coins at less price will start dumping for a good profit after listing the coin. There are multiple reasons for decreasing its value.

Bounty hunters are also dumping the price and private sales have less effect on dumping after getting listed on the exchanges in my humble opinion. Huge profit days are gone and no need to repeat the market cycle for me here.

There is a number of reasons for this.

1- The private group that is actually getting the tokens with sometimes 80% bonus.
2- The early phases bonuses that are offered by the project for the public they usually call it the pre-sale bonus then round 1 then round 2 and every stage or phase of them have different bonuses.
3- Bounty hunters selling their tokens to liquidate their rewards.

All this case the instant drop in price in most ICOs while you think -50% from original price is considered to be loos it most certainly is not loos for the for anyone who bought at 51%+ bonus so imagine 80%+ bonuses.

Nice great analysis an visualization but in own opinion the reason is after the rewards token sending by into individual and the price is in the high value they sell the rewa d quick that why their of icos project token are getting low value.

I think that it is the fault of the project team, which cant provide the promised price after the ICO. I believe that it is necessary to foresee and take measures to ensure that the price remains worthy.
This is what I think they can’t true to their promise about their project. Mosty after token sales the price went down, other’s selling early to earn at least. Their is really necessary steps to do before investing in an Ico never buy when you are not sure about the project since most Ico these days are scam.
It totally be dead if that certain project is full of scam and we can't expect that we will be earning profits from them.
In mostly cases that token prices may went down after listing because mostly all bounty hunters will sell their rewards in order to make money. It is not bad and it is their rights but selling it in low price below ICO will dragging it into dump and investors will suffer losses.

In general, the reputation of the ICO project has been deemed defective by most cryptocurrency users especially by its investors, why's that because previously there have been several frauds in its implementation. So it's perfectly natural if in the end this thing leads to a decrease in the value of tokens because most of its users many of whom switch and leave the project. I think the ICO project or the like that will come later will not seem to get a single response anymore. All will return and hold on to the cryptocurrency that has real value.

More than 90% of ICO projects are scams, and the scam doesn't end when the ICO ends, the teams keep dumping coins also when the exchange listing starts. Also, remember that a lot of ICO have pre-sale in privates rounds, those sales are done at a much lower price than you can buy tokens for in ICO.

In fact, the very principle by which the ICO market is ruled is nothing more than speculation, and it was to be expected that sooner or later a scenario such as the current one would occur, since there was no way to give long-term sustainability to so many projects that, in most cases, are no more than ethereal proposals without solid theoretical support, and without a market large enough to cover the capital needs that are usually very large in the type of technological proposals proposed by the majority of the ICOs.

Therefore, enough of absurd explanations and justifications. The ICOs should never have had the success that they had at the time, because the business model was never sustainable, and the big drops that usually suffer within a few days of being listed is a sign of that.

Most of the ICO's are really taking time to finish. Of course, some of the investors are lack of patience that's why when the project or coin listed on the market they sell them. Including some bounty hunters who make the project successful. The value will just recover if it is listed on the popular trading market.

Currently no ico creates a nice project. They just do ico to collect money from people. That's why people don't want to make a deposit. Most projects now end before the start. The price of icos on the market must fall. But if there was a solid project, certainly the price would not fall.

That the main purposes of the ICO now is for their own sake or to earn money from us. They don't have any plan so the token or the project down fastly and also the price of the token become cheap. Cause also the bounty hunters and also the other investors and most of that is because of the team.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
I have taken part of some ICOs and everytime their token price goes down after the ICO.. why is that so?

EDIT:
oh, nice.. that was helpful and pretty much what I was looking for.. thanks for sharing

Hey

That might be helpful for you to understand the reason behind it - http://cryptoandblockchaintalk.com/why-do-prices-drop-when-an-ico-ends-27

Take care!
You are lucky because you have been part of dumping project and not totally scam because more than 90% of those ICO are scammers and many of us here know about this system

If you been part of ICO you then better hold the coins/tokens if you think the project has a future but if there's none then sell them all before its too late

I have holding some coins in which beinh trapped in damping and now waiting if there will be a chance to profit in future
