Not sure if this ICO is legit or not.  However, while this may not be significant, I find it odd that the CEO is a beauty care specialist prior to Tokia.  Not the typical CEO of a technology company.   I was considering investing but there is too many red flags at this point so I will pass.  If it is in fact legit, I wish them the best of luck and success!

I have decided not to invest. Something just seems off with this ICO. Good luck to those that invest. I hope I am wrong and everything is OK.

Yeah after reading the back and forth I'm still weirder out by this ICOs behavior. Even if I discount the comments of newbs and read the ICO's response I am still going to wait this one out.

You're right to do your research and ask questions. Trust your gut. If it seems like a scam, good chance it is. Don't risk your hard earned money on shady ICOs. Too many great projects out there. If you're itching to put your money to work, you're better off putting it into post-ICO project with a proven track record like ETH, NEO, ADA, etc. Remember: bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered. Don't be greedy!

All all,

I was going to invest in the ICO but after doing some research I found some very dodgy looking stuff.

Here is their website: https://www.tokia.io/

They say they are a UK company and have a UK office at 6 Thornes Office Park, but this is just a mailing address https://www.mailboxuk.com/.

The website states Nathan Tafer is the founding partner but he is not even a director or shareholder on Companies House and the company was just setup 2-3 weeks ago; please see here https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/11093662

The director or any of the team are not even based in the UK so why set a company here? The director is Anna Lunhu who seems to have no experience in this field and is registered in a apartment in Monaco.

This all points towards a scam and when asking these questions on their telegram I got banned.

So make your own mind up but this looks a scam to me.

Thank you for this topic.
For me the first stop factor was a team. After some more research this project looks like scam unfortunately (because I really like the idea).

THis is all Extremely Dodgy.

No evidence whatsoever of CEO and Co FOunder Nathan. Where is an interview with them. Anything live.

They only things there are is couple Lithuanian Guys,
Mazvydas, Marius and Karolis on the chat of telegram, as Customer support.

Roadmap mentions "opening development offices", but there are no developers. There is no CTO. which is great, as you are going to build tech.
They just raised the price 19th from 1$ per token to 0,0014 ETH. around 1,50

Also, if you scroll up to the post of "anna" the CEO, and check that users previous posts here. It doesnt make sense. Probably bought ID.

My first clue that an ICO is a scam is when I find dead links on their "official" website.... Just sayin.... That's usually my "first" clue.

Hello everyone,

first of all, thank you for your interest in Tokia. It is unfortunate for you and us, that our communication has slipped a bit and therefore I would like to fix it.

To start with - the address:

We have registered the company all of us being abroad as we work this way for a long time. Most of our projects were based on having individual roles and goals to accomplish. Our team is formed from really well locally known professionals with exactly the same principle in mind - everyone of them have their objectives in this project that will be necessary to achieve. Since we are all professionals, it is "just another" project for us, more innovative, more trending and we're happy to participate in it.

Since none of the CEOs of any bigger corporation reside at the same address where they are usually registered, it would be great if you understand that very well. We have registered our company in the UK because it is the most convenient location for many reasons starting from business operations, banking, tax, legal and etc. Yes, of course we could have registered the company in offshore locations like Gibraltar, Malta, Cyprus and etc., but we've chosen to stay among the companies who are not afraid to show all processes and finance in the most transparent way. Offshore locations would "most likely" have given some "other options" for crypto based business. That is not what we're after. We want transparency.

All the rest of the topic regarding the company being registered 3 weeks ago or so - well, it is how it is. You are not looking at these facts from the right perspective since the company is registered and no fraud or scam could be desired under such legal status.

Here is the issue, if you have nothing to hide then you don't hide so we still have to ask the question why was somebody in your "team" trying to hide and not simply being transparent. The fact that you are answering here only means you are trying to save face.

As a investor and marketer I am really not interested in a team that starts a ICO with in YOUR WORDS is '"just another" project"' - whether it is truly a scam or not I know not, but it appears to be a half-hearted attempt and what has been exposed shows a lack of belief on your end in a long-term existence which leads those looking on to have even less faith in you.

Registering a mailbox address costs between $5-25 so that doesn't show or prove transparency at all.

This post is a few weeks old, but Facebook was showing me Tokia ads and landed here....

This is supposed to be an official communication from, and approved by, this company?  Is this a joke?

And totally agree about the 'just another project'  ....that is a cacophony of alarm bells.   Just another project.... yeah...that sure makes potential investors want to drop money into 'just another project'  ....

I wont even begin to pick apart the rest of the statement.

I don't agree that this a scam.

Setting up in London as a scam. London? The financial capital of the world? Lets choose that as our scam location? The UK has more extradition arrangements that another nation.

The lack of a dev being called out was inevitable. Where else is the dev team listed in the real world?
Apple, Amazon, MS, Intel, Google ect... Do they launch a product and say "Don't worry, Joe Bloggs developed this so you can trust our update" Granted they do have a track record. That said new players to the tech world rarely release their developers names. He/She is just their to code, much like a frontline manager is just their to manage.

Crypto is inevitably going to go mainstream. As it does, these quirks of having technically minded individuals deciding the fate of a company will go by the wayside. That's not to say that someone can't be business and Tech.

I have read a lot of white papers, ANNs ect... It's like panning for gold, you can find one good one or never find any at all.
I wont be investing in Tokia as they are late to market. But the scam call out seemed a little unfair. I see they are also advertising on large forums and webspaces.

That guy getting kicked from the discord was a bad moved, I agree with that. Perhaps Anna Lunhu's people skills are only as deep as a calculator. Perhaps she is oblivious to what the online world is like.

Will Tokia release their DEV team names, do the DEV team want to be known?. Will that reduce the FUD?
If I was Tokia I'd release the DEV team members names.

Additionally... if you look at their team, other than listing a bunch of marketing background people, and a few finance background guys, there are no devs at all...

Big links thrown around, Societe Generale etc... (well, I know a guy who still works there - as a guard, not really a vig reference. But ok, Anna the CEO was a private banking assistant there - veeeeeery relevant for blockchain)

hmm... I guess the software will just develop on its own...  or wait.. no... I guess they'll outsource it to an IT expert company or whatever....

Come on...

Another thing - the founders of Tokia.
We have our internal agreements about the division of Tokia shares. It have many things to do with the performance of each and every founder, since the project itself is not necessarily financially backed by all of them equally. That is important to understand as for any starting business some stakeholders might be fueling it with money while others - with their experience and hard work. Therefore, after a while when the actual result shows, the stake gets to be distributed more equally, or simply in accordance to individual performance levels of the founders.

It might seem a bit puzzling, but it is not an easy task to start such company and none of our team expect to just get over the ICO and then do nothing. In contrast, all the internal agreements between our founders are made to make sure everyone will do what they are supposed to.

Also, among our advisers we have highly experienced and respected banking and finance professionals:

Steven Vermeire
Investor, fintech advisor and CIO

Steven is a Managing partner at VCTS, Founding partner at YOUNNIC Capital Partners. He focuses on coaching & supporting technology start-ups/scale-ups, works extensively with fintechs and brings in considearble ITsec experience from one of the largest Belgian companies.

Talal Tabbaa
Co-Founder of Jibrel Network

A block-chain evangelist, Talal is the co-founder of Jibrel Network, a blockchain platform for traditional financial assets. He also serves as a member of the Advisory Board at the British Blockchain association and is a member of the CryptoValley Association in Zug, Switzerland.

Kevin Allen
Entrepreneur, Crowdfunding expert

Kevin is a founder of QDDTI, was Chief of Staff at Wealth Migrate, a global real estate investment management marketplace, and is the founding Chairman at the African Crowdfunding Association, where he is focusing on bringing together crowdfunding platforms across Africa. He believes we live in an abundant world and is excited about how Blockchain technology will bring this to life.

There will be more top-level professionals advising Tokia. We will make announcements to inform our community about the new advisers.

All this is important to show YOU - all our supporters, that we are not bunch of 19 year olds with no plan or strategy, but the opposite. We hope to achieve our goals and deliver the benefits of Tokia as soon as we can. Not only for our satisfaction of getting things done, but most importantly for YOUR satisfaction.

I hope this post will clear the fog a bit. I had a couple of words with our admins of Telegram, there clearly was a misunderstanding between some members of our channel for which I apologize. If you have any questions regarding our business, ICO, team members or etc., please contact me. Tokia is going to be a fine business, just as any other could. The market needs our products and we are working hard to get them delivered to you ASAP.

I will leave you my email address so that you can drop me a line if you need clarification on any of the aspects of Tokia ICO. Here it is: [email protected]

Thank you for your time and support.

Sincerely,
Anna Lunhu
