it doesnt matter ? of course it does matter because if there were too many exchanges we can also expect that most of these are only scam or have a bad service , so instead of wasting our time trying those , why cant we just have a few exchanges that is legit and already trusted . in that way veteran and newbie traders are safe everytime they trade thier coins .

some coins especially those coins that you can only get on an airdrops and on a bounties are usually listed on the unrated exchange or on the exchange that are not on the top list .

A very good suggestion and I am also working in the same way. Almost all exchanges are working super excellent because they are in competition and want to increase market cap. But we have to choose the most relevant that depends on you from where you are. Exchanges also offer multiple language facility and that is also a feature which may attract you to start trading on the same exchange.

Certain exchanges are available only for some countries, and the rates there are very good. Therefore, I see here only pluses - the more exchanges we have, the more options we get. We do have a choice.

This proliferation of exchanges is getting crazier. Seen some new ones and wonder how they plan to sustain not to talk of grow the exchange. This is where regulations is needed. Some are Dex and others are CEX yet some have little or no volume. For this kind of exchange, security's a big issue as hackers know that they came colour vulnerability to hack as much as they can. It becomes worse if you leave funds on this new exchanges.

I always keep aware with it. Because if we look carefully, some exchanger have big volume because of bot. Maybe need more attention from other traders so that people not easily fill exchanger with bots.

They aren't building their relationship between exchange sites. Who in the world want to share their money with their competitor? The fact is they want to kill other exchanges/competitor, so they will earn more money while people keep using their site.
When you are choosing a site, you will keep using that site and abandon other site, aren't you?

First we have to remember that we have centralized and decentralized exchanges, with centralized exchanges being fewer and run and guided by some regulator to prevent money laundering and other financial crimes. But do we need more, yes.....crypto is not yet fully adopted or at its optimum and if exchanges are to be limited now then they won't accommodate new ideas of a good exchange as competition will be limited.
I believe we need more for better services and new ideas to emerge, the only downside is some exchanges have kind of monopolized this business which can easily force things on us such as KYC.
