It obvious that higher trading volum = more liquidity. liquidity refers to the ability of a coin to be converted into cash or other coins easily. Liquidity is important for any tradeable assets including cryptocurrencies.
Unfortunately, I have obversed that most coins listed this days on certain exchanges are without volume, that is, illiquid.
It is very clear that this situation was not common found before 2019.
What could be the reasons for this abnormalities. Your thoughts.

When you plant a crop on the rock what happens? Such crop will never grow. Same thing happens to when a coin is listed on a crab exchange without a single volume. Another reason is wash trades. A coins with fake volumes or wash trades end up without single volumes.

to be honest I am no stranger to such projects, I mean the project coins are listed on the Exchange but have no trading volume. if you are still curious then you can try looking at the coingecko site, on that site it is easy to find or detect every coin that has no trading volume and has been abandoned by the developer.

The lack of investor interest can be the main trigger if the coins that have been listed do not have a high trading volume on the existing exchanges, even poor promotional programs or team performance that are not optimal on related projects can also be one of the causes so that they cannot attract the attention of many people to be able to invest in it

A dead coin or soon to be dead usually have very low or even none exist trading volume. This is a common thing you would found before 2019 since there were a hard crash in 2018 and many crypto projects become dead after the hype is over. Today, I think it up to exchange to asset the liquidity of a crypto coin since as you know, fake trading volume is also a thing. High liquidity doesn't mean it have a real volume.

Market is over saturated with useless coins without any real usage that will arouse interest of investors, dev team are just pumping in new coins every time but even the already existing ones don't have demand hence there won't be any volume, many don't have nothing to offer and it seems traders don't find interest in trading them, reason why some exchange are wash trading.

many coins listed without any trading volume, it means that the coin is going to be a dead coin, a shitcoin. Well, many factors about this from the developer teams that do not pay attention more to their project, and also the low of the investor's interest to the coins. SO in this case, they have no volume.
in 2018 - 2019, I saw a lot of coins that had no trading volume for two years, but in 2020 they began to rise again. If they don't have trading volumes this does not mean that the coin is dead
For sure, if they didn't have a volume, their project would have died because there weren't any investors interested in that project. I also invested in many projects in 2018 but in 2019 those projects suddenly dropped in volume and the price dropped many times, now all of them are dead.
Almost 70% of the altcoins have died over time since 2017, the last price boom was caused by HYPE which slowly disappeared. Many investors have the interest to be in a similar time period in upcoming years but it wouldn't be easy to live in those gold years. HYPE is the driver but the passengers have no concentration to hold the shitcoins for years. Experience is essential at this point for holding hardly dropped altcoins.

The reason is only one, people are not interested in that coins and nobody wants them! There are sell orders, but nobody is
buying, when that happens to some coin you can expect to be delisted after some time. It's what would good exchange do.
When I am investing in low cap coins I always check their daily volume! I like to see where are they traded, volumes on different
exchanges, it's one of the factors that helps me to decide is there a potential for this coin to grow in the future, or not!

I guess one of the reasons are people are trying to sell value less coins in a desperate attempt to cash on them. Ive read on a thread before that some people are trying to sell coins from dead projects.
Do you mean a low volume coins due to mass sales ..?
Investors and traders can do nothing but sell their assets cheaply, after seeing the condition of the coins they were holding got worse, they immediately went into mass sales before the coins they held became junk in their wallets. Sales made by investors and traders have nothing to do with a decrease in the volume of coins in the market, because they always follow the flow of coin movements every day.

It shows us that less interest from investors to buy those coins. I think we don't need to be surprised because it was already happening for years. Many coins listed on exchanges are getting worse because they have less interest from investors to buy. They must have something to trigger investors to buy.
It needs marketing strategy to make their project popular. Too many coins listed in the exchange and only those legit and with development continues to survive in the market. These happen all the time many project pop up in this industry some are really worth investing and some just scam no value.

No volume means no way to liquidate so these coins are dead and will soon be out and forget we have already thousands of coins here in the announcement thread and look where are they now they are out of the market, forgotten and never to come back anymore, they are just a sore to the eyes of their holders in their wallet.
sell as soon as possible if we see our assets have no trading volume in market or we could not sell again if exchanges delist this coin. many exchanges now actively delist project that have low trading volume and also poor or developtment or inactive again. if we have assets like this we must sell and quit immediately.
To be honest, I saw a few coins gone through hard phase of the very low trading volume for many reasons. It really needs a serious time to think about selling your bag when it has a low trading volume. Since the price won't be good and most likely, you're selling at a loss. Sometimes, reasons can be very simple and understandable like it needs to go thru a process of swapping so people rather withdraw coin from the exchange back to their wallet. No coin at the exchange = low volume.

I don't think an alive project would just go zero volume for years and rejuvenate. Even a low profile community coin that's active would have a small volume. For a mineable coin, no transactions means the blockchain just stops and miner would not keep running their device for nothing. And even for a token, that's creepy. If a coin jumps after being dead for years than it's a fake pump.

If the coin has no volume then you should not buy it because it will become shitcoin and coins like that are usually listed on small markets or in exchanges that have fake volume

I believe that if there is no liquidity, then there is no demand for the asset. At this time, it has a large number of crypto assets that no one needs. At the same time, project administrators who released such are active in every possible way trying to make money on their cryptocurrencies by selling them at any price. This is also influenced by the oversaturation of crypto assets in the market. In other words, until the crypto market dumps unnecessary assets, we will observe this picture. However, there is one more point. Now investments are made only in top altcoins and new promising tokens, all the other ones are active and do not arouse interest. The situation in the world also affects this situation. Some investors do not invest at all as they are simply afraid to do so.

I think the main reason for that situation are the inactivity and inadequate steps taken by the team of that project. Another reason is no one is interested on that coin or token. That type of coins and tokens are very risky. I have lost about 200$ on investing ENTS token which is listed on Mercatox exchange. ENTS has no liquidity at all.

I don't blame the team anymore, they did the right thing to list the coin in small exchanges but the bear market has caused such difficulties. It is not easy to sign a contract with influencers and pay for the advertisement. Only in this case, the projects become popular along with increasing trading volume. Now it is the turn of DEFI projects, it will be interesting to watch blood bath after slowly dying hype.

I don't think so whatever happens to a coin it's the developers that should take the blame they make things happen they are responsible on the future of the project if they listed in a small exchange then they should not stop marketing completing the roadmap and listing it in big exchanges, bear market or bull market they need to keep the development moving.

I believe that it was because of the inactivity of the project. Most of the hunters sell their tokens as they receive it from the project. This will give a little activity in their token temporarily, however, after most of the hunters sell it the next problem will be the buyers or simply the investors. I've only known a few coins able to do that to maintain the liquidity on their coin, it is easy to sell a coin but it is hard to attract investors. That's what I believe. Apparently it easy to be listed on an exchange but the problem is your coin can able to maintain?
