Maybe OP needs to put one more column with "Last Active:"
Most of the top haven't been online for quite some time and probably will not come back, like Satoshi and Hal.

Anyone know why TERA2 was banned? I found him irritating but certainly not offensive or nefarious.

Seems not banned but locked, he is probably not good to keep his stuff on a safe place. Already got 2 stolen accounts.

My account TERA2 was stolen (again). Luckily this time I was able to lock it in time after getting the email message to lock the account within 14 days. However, I do not see where this leads to actually recovering my account back to the old email address. How do I do this? I dont believe I used any BTC/PGP addresses but I just want it reset back to the old email it was at a few days ago. Thanks.

The sMerit calculation is off. I have well over 200.
The airdropped sMerit amount isn't published, so it's excluded here.
Yet when spending airdropped sMerit, it is being deducted here.

I know you handle your smerit to strictly. I am also agree with it for higher rank people's. But I would like to request you to be little soft about newbie. Especially demoted newbie. At least choose good post instead of find best or high quality post.

I believe that merit should be awarded for meritable posts, and that is the driving factor. Rank, religion, ethnicity, inside leg measurement, hair colour, sexual preferences and such factors should not be a consideration. I've awarded merits for fist time posts, and I even gave a couple to Theymos. There is usually a reason for a demoted newbie to be without merits, and sometimes it is because he is frequenting the wrong boards. Sometimes I do go on a promotion to find "0" merit members to reward, and then I look at post history. If I think they are contributing a number of posts that are beneficial to the forum, then I'll reward a couple of them. This is more of an indication of thanks for the members support of the forum, than a reward for those individual posts.

Now you hard done by non-English speakers who complain about the lack of merits, get your mouse and keyboard over to Fit to Talk and collect some of those project merits for Bitcoin Talk.

If we only had so many Bitcoin statistics posts...
We've got hundreds of this in the bitcoin discussion section, but sadly most of'em are really poor quality I must say

I can also confirm the sMerit left over to spend is off. I have 38 sMerit available to spend but you have a max of 34. Unless this was done more than a few days ago then it might of not been off.

Try running it again and seeing if you come up with 38 for me instead of 34.

You have 176 sendable merit (sMerit) which you can send to other people.
This is my personal bag
That would put you at #5 in OP's list.
I have 314 left, that number is very slowly going down. But I do keep my source merit on 0 now most of the time, so that's something.
Having 314 sMerit would put me at #3, and I think this shows how incomplete this list is. By excluding the effect of Merit sources and airdropped sMerit, OP is excluding amounts that may be much larger than the amounts being shown.

The sMerit calculation is off. I have well over 200.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. MTwain
How is the "max" calculated?

It’s a rather "unfair" list in my opinion in relation to the objective ("list of members who have but do not give merits to others"), penalizing the greatest Receivers who may in turn be some of the greatest Senders. The list also shows people with barely available 20-30 sMerits, which is not that much really.

Personally, I’d consider those forum members above a certain threshold of generated sMerits, with largest percentage of Available sMerits over Generated sMerits. Those cases with 0 sent merits would all be at the top of my list.

Ideally of course, the list would in any case include in the calculation all airdropped sMerits for all forum members, which is not available as we know.

Good post. Seems lots of reputed member's not spending enough smerits. I am not sure they have not found good post or what. However I would like to request who have earned good merit or who are merit source, please try to spend your smerit to encourage people make good post. Once you haven't found quality or best post then choose the good post for send smerit. So that merit system will never dry. Merit system is working fine to prevent spam. So let's keep it fresh and don't let it dry. We don't have any benefits if we hold our smerits.

I'd love to reduce the number, but I have loads of problems finding good posts.

a list of members who have but do not give merits to others.

I think you maybe need to rephrase this. There are people on that list like hilariousetc and DdmrDdmr who have given away hundreds of merits, but because they have earned so many they still have lots available to give. You can't really say that people who are on the list of most generous merit givers of all time are also on the list of people who do not give merit.

In addition, merit sources will deplete their source sMerit before their personal sMerit, and so could appear on this list despite giving hundreds of source sMerit.

This is my personal bag, and I often dip into this when I run out of source merits. I'd love to reduce the number, but I have loads of problems finding good posts. All of these sMerits are there to be awarded through the Fit to Talk projects, but nobody seems to want them. Smiley
