"Have fun" doing what you love.
"Be Happy" in what by condition of life you should do as compensation to pay the bills.

There is a bad habit to blame the "areas" in which we decided to participate, whether as I said for fun or in which we perform for formal work, informal jobs, skills, etc.

In reality, the environments are not the culprits, it is the individuals, who do not behave correctly, but fortunately there are more who know how to behave and regardless of whether they are in the emotional zone of fun or sadness.

I like your number #2 as most of the gamblers are really frustrated to recover their lost money in gambling, this also happened to me
and I see that most of the time I keep on losing only so it will be good if we will not be too anxious in recovering our lost money or capital.

Discipline is the most difficult part also while we are already gambling, I always keep it in mind that I need to discipline myself while gambling
but what happened is the opposite especially if I keep on losing. But for those who can do it, I am pretty sure that they will likely to lost a small
amount of money only while winning a huge one.

The second point which talks about the anxiousness of bettors to recover lost funds is the key as to why many bettors keep loosing bets. Especially in the virtual bet category. It is also the very point that induces addiction.
In trying to recover lost funds, most bettors tend to increase stakes and odds to make the maximum but in turn, the reverse always seem to be the case as the risk was carelessly calculated only base on what is hoped to gain not examining the possibility of lose.
It makes most bettors forget the fact that, tomorrow is another day and with it comes also opportunity of winning as much as losing as well. Never be too hasty to recover and lose. Take it bit by bit.

Most of the things listed by OP is not entirely a secret. It's a basic understanding of what you should do "in ideal situations," and most of the time, people are not doing that. I think discipline should be the first one to master.

This is not just applicable to the betting world. It could also be in trading. Imagine using it as a trading principle in your daily trading life
  • Portfolio is your Business - Better see green all the time and taking care of your capital
  • Getting rekt is not the end of the world, do better in your trading strategy
  • Be disciplined with your trades - even better with a Trading Bot
  • Have knowledge on trading and stick to it

All I see here is a motivational speech! You can change the "betting/gambling" word with word "trading, investing, working...or with any of your activities". In the end you can't be a successful cook if you don't:
1. Take your job seriously and have professional approach.
2. Anxiousness is never good!
3. You need to be disciplined in everything.
4. You need to have your own style, something unique if possible that will make you special in everything you do if you wish to leave a mark and become recognized.
5. Don't do anything without researching it first, learning about what is waiting for you, the more you know it will be easier for you to find your own way and style!
And in the end we have "it's not for everyone" part of course. All that can lead you to success, but not necessary, in any way give me more money and I will give you more "secrets" that can help you/or not help you in achieving your goals.

There's no secret that some people have to work hard to achieve something! Some people will have to give an extra mile to get to the same point where some people start! If you wish to be successful in anything, literally anything you need to be dedicated, you need focus, a lot of work on your skills, your mind skills, your everything! And like in every beginning it will be hard, in some points it will seem like a waste of time and energy. You will think about quitting when pressure become unbearable. Every road to top have good and bad days, surviving them all means you know how to deal with both. It's hard to believe and endure when it's hard, but believe it's hard to stay cool and focused when you are on top!

And now about betting on sports, you can be successful if you like to watch the games you bet on and if you have bankroll management skills. First means you have some knowledge about the teams/players, second means you know how to deal with money and that you will place bets according to your bankroll, you can't bet all in every time and believe that you will be positive every time, you need to count on losses and how to
recover them. Good luck people!

A motivational speech, indeed. Sometimes we have to learn the way in order to see things more clearly. As for OP, 15 years was enough to realize the insights gained from these life experiences. I agree that there is no secret, shortcuts or specific strategy to be successful in gambling and in life in general. As we have different paths, and different destinations.

I strongly believe gambling should be perceived as an entertainment. Sure, you can win serious amounts now and again, but every casino has a House Edge advantage.

The house always wins, even when it loses.

I don't find anything something extraordinary in your tips despite you being working in this field from 15 years.
15 Years and you still don't know you can't prove anything without Win/Loss ratio, ROI and profit you made.
Also, please format the post as no one likes to read a bunch of lines.

It is ideal to have the profit/loss spreadsheet because every month I need to know how money I have lost or say made profit so that I know my expenses is not going overboard. This helps at times when you are running shortfall for money and want to keep the balances so managing finances is very important and thus gambling for fun is fine till the time you know money spent on it. Also, long years spent means chances are that if some has become professional then would ideally have made money rather than losing it.

Thank you OP for your take on gambling tactics. There are some very important points you mention.

My own opinion? If the fun stops, you should stop gambling. Never chase losses, instead try to gamble with less money and have fun doing it. Why else should we gamble? To create money?  Roll Eyes

As you write "don't gamble what you can't afford to loose", its the number 1 thing everyone is saying to you when they are talking about gambling rules and it is a very important one.
If you deposit any money, you should know that this ammount will probably be gone from the very beggining.

15 years is actually very long. guess he had lost a lot of money from all those years. and if he is successful, i don't think he will be in this forum. just guessing here... because if he is a successful gambler, he wont have time to be here. busy attending important things.
those points that he wrote has ben told many times already in this board. so nothing extra-ordinary with those 5 secrets.
You are right sir, but I don't know who you see as a successful person, if he is a person that has his own apartment and send his kids to good school, then I think I am successful.

Gambling requires experience and courage to keep going. 15yrs is long and no joke at all like what OP everyone will experience losing and winning is not guaranteed. It is too risky to continue gambling especially betting without any studying the games and players. Only those who are able to analyze the game, consistent in learning and planning and have a team to support can last that long.
OP advise is in General and can be helpful but we should not let ourselves be drown in lose or get too much addicted that we forgot that there are also other way to make a living since once experience may not be what others can experiend, OP is lucky or persistent enough to win back it's loses and I'm glad that it did turns good for him.

It's not personal, but how can someone who writes something like this post a topic with the 5 secrets if you haven't been successful yourself? It should then be more of a warning not to use it. Gambling addiction can be very annoying. You are not the first and last person to develop suicidal tendencies and / or depression because of this addiction. Fortunately, there is something to be done about every addiction.
What is the purpose of this post? Warn others or find a strategy?

Next month would make it my 15 solid years in betting world. I have experienced a lot of bitterness to the extent of committing suicide due to huge amount I have lost to it.

Next month would make it my 15 solid years in betting world. I have experienced a lot of bitterness to the extent of committing suicide due to huge amount I have lost to it.
But thank God today, I can say I have realised X30 of what I have lost at my initial stage of betting and that is why I have come to share my TOP FIVE SECRETS OF BETTING.
#1. Perceive Betting to be a business and not a freestyling arena: It is funny to me when I see someone accumulating more than 10 games and staking #100 to earn big, I see this person to be freestyling. For a business minded person, you consider your capital first before the profit, what this means is that your capital is the most important, is better not to make profit than to lose your capital.
Heavy stakers like me need to apply this business principle when it comes to betting as a slogan of a popular betting company in Nigeria says ' Put Your Money Where Your Mouth is'.
#2. Avoid Anxiousness in recovering your lost fund: This is where most gamblers get it wrongly, never be too anxious to recover your lost fund, in betting world, Anxiousness doesn't always bring good result but rather brings more loss. For example, someone that just lost about 50k on a bet, ordinarily such person will be too anxious to recover his money back and if care is not taken, such person will record more loss, (GR)gradual recovering of lost fund is applied instead of (IR)immediate recovering, considering the example above, such person is advised to recover his lost 50k gradually. There was a time it took me a month to recover my lost 100k
#3. Gambling requires discipline: Yes, gambling requires discipline . As a gambler, you don't need to stake every hour or every day. You could set a weekly profit target for yourself and once you hit the target, you wait for the coming week, you don't need to be greedy because gambling doesn't favour the greedy ones and you also need to do your proper findings before going to market, your findings could take you days, so as to reduce the risk
#4. Design your betting style and stick to it: To Excel in any field, style and skills are required, likewise in betting world.
Putting my own betting style into consideration, I only stake on over 1.5 and I don't accumulate more than two games, the total odds could 1.6 or better still 1.75 and I stake heavily starting from 20k, I have stuck to this style and is paying. Anyway, I am not a fan of 1X2 betting and huge accumulation but if that is what you do and is yielding, you can stick to it.
#5. Only stake on sport you have adequate knowledge of and never add emotions to it: This is very important, I have a friend, from his inception in the betting world, he has always staked on Cricket because that is where his strength lies. Select a sport you have adequate knowledge about, it could be football, handball, tennis, basketball, etc.
Note: Gambling is never for emotional weak people and never bet any amount u can't let go. Bet responsibly.

I read you are experienced in gambling and been there for 15 years (nearly). Can you also tell us your statistics like your netto overall profit/loss? (an estimation then of course).
Sad to hear about the suicide situation. There are more things in life than to think about money. Life and health are more important.
