Care to elaborate where those figures were drilled-up from ?
Unless the source for information is public or of general knowledge, it should reference the origin so people can assess their values and context. Otherwise, it’s just a bunch of random numbers, which is what it looks like.

I think we can't see total active users as is hard to implement such thing and will maybe make website offline for 24 hours if change that.

Derived from the information that @malevolent pointed to earlier on, @Coin-1 keeps a nice thread where the numbers are charted in an easier to read manner: [Chart] Bitcointalk statistics on impression counts for ads.

The data was updated at the end of December 2019, and there are two interesting charts to view:

- "Unique IPs from logged-out visitors for one round (10 days)", where the most recent reading is on 94.086 IPs in that timeframe.

- "Unique logged-in users for one round (10 days)", where the most recent reading is on 13.714 users in that timeframe.

This second reading is likely the most accurate one for a short timeframe window on 10 days. There are obviously non-logged in readers that do not show on the second toll count, but are included in the first of the above provided.
Note that the timeframe here is 10 days, whilst before we were talking about larger timeframes on other readings (3 months on BPIP).

<...> @DdmrDdmr, maybe you have stats how many users had made at least 1 post in 3 months? It would more accurate number of active users.
That would probably be a better reading. I could do that in relation to merited profiles, but not the rest, since I do not keep data on unmerited profiles. I did do something of the sort though a year ago (see Analysis – net posts created/destroyed in a month per rank). I thought it was pretty interesting, and from the data there (end of 2018 though) I derived that 53.858 accounts has posted in a timeframe of 1 month.

So here on this thread there are multiple possible readings, and two things come to mind:
- "Active users" will vary depending on the definition we give it (logged-in, posted at least once, etc.).
- The results will also vary depending on the timeframe (10 days, 30 days, 3 months, etc.).

It is a similar thread on meta, and it has been already discussed there.
With the help of forum stat, you will know who are those currently online.
At this moment this is what I got, but you can't identify who are those members are most active in the forum.

Aside from this, I also have been stated on the thread in meta.
Aside from forum stats, you can also use this to know who's online, how many users online and those users online but hidden profile's online status. https://bitcointalk.org/SSI.php?ssi_function=whosOnline

How many regular active users do we have on Bitcointalk.org?

According to the information available on both :
[1] https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats     &
[2] https://bpip.org

There are currently  > 100,000 "active" bitcointalk users and on average, About 160 of these users login daily. These stats gives a  notation that it is around the quoted figure. It doesn't represent to correct number of users at any time. Only gives a clear idea about it. Also, I'm not sure about the criteria that was used to classify people into active and inactive.

That would be hard to know on how it is to classify users. It may be base on being logging on the forum only or it may be base on users who log in and posted but my opinion on how it is clasdified is by logging in to the forum. The major problem is no one would know the exact number of people who log in on the forum because of alts.

This page should give you a rough idea how many people come here:

https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adstats

Look at: "Unique IPs from logged-out users" and "Unique logged-in users". It's a lot less once those who don't post at all along with who those don't post outside the Bounties child-board are excluded.

Depends on what your definition of active is. Some will be logging in but have never posted, or haven't for months or years.
This is real problem actually. Some set bar very high, like logged in in last year.
That would give for example 500 000 active users, but more resonable bar like last 30 days would give result of only 130 000 "active users".
There is no golden standard here.

According to BPIP, there are 117 530 active forum members. By active, the site is considering all accounts that have logged-in over the past 3 months, regardless of their activity (they may or not have posted).

Regarding the general stats, not all indicators are that accurate in terms of current data, since some of them seem to consider all forum history, and not just a recent period of time which, in some cases, may be more representative (i.e. average registrations per day is one of these).
Real number of active users is much smaller, probably way less than 100k. It's very difficult to tell real numbers. Big part of these counted active users are just bots who haven't made single post. There is also more or less alt accounts too.
@DdmrDdmr, maybe you have stats how many users had made at least 1 post in 3 months? It would more accurate number of active users.

there are huge number of them. it's  uncountable. also many newbies are joining everyday. the cryptocurrency revolution is still in its uprising stage. you will see more and more people as we progress in the community here. i doubt if there could be an accurate number of active users here.

Hi,
Many of these statistics include alt-accounts, it is difficult to make a precise estimate.
