Thats the reasons met behind all the failure and its too good that you came to know about it by all yourself. Well this is the prime reason why bots fail always, they dont know how to act to the market situation according to these trends. Crypto currencies are hard and fast when it comes to the trading, they could go up and down very fast and thus create situation unrecognised by the algorithm of bots. These scripts are just art work of similar algorithm, and when thousands of users use it at the same time and thus it could fail and bot to bot fights might just start. Finally they can fail. Tongue

if you are a very busy person maybe you better use bot, but if you have a lot of time you can do it manually, make your own strategy, manage, enjoy trading, all you can set yourself and I prefer trading myself.
using bot trading has a bigger risk than trading itself

Today trading with bots is very common, but not always effective. In most cases, it is a waste of money. Yes, on the one hand, if the bot set the correct algorithm, it acts clearly on the commands and excludes emotions that each person has, but this correct course still needs to manage to write and even more so to configure it. Personally, I have never used trading with a bot and I am against it.

bot trading uses full TA analysis and does not use Fundamental analysis, so it is natural that bot trading is more suitable in stock trading than in crypto trade because crypto trade is more influential issue which can not be analyzed by bot

Hi everyone

I would like to know is anyone really using bots for trading? I have tried some bots from Github in the past, but mostly just lost money with them (mostly because I was using them In the bull run and the bot didn't konw how to handle high jumps accordingly, making me lose money).

It seems bots are fine for stock trading since they are more stable and predictable, but mostly fail for crypto trading.

So is anyone really using bots for trading crypto? What software are you using? Did it ever screw you up with a trade?
The open source trading bots aren't that effective when it comes to highly volatile market as that of cryptos. Also, market is highly manipulated, therefore, trading bots often miss the future trends. I won't suggest anyone to completely rely on trading bots in crypto trading. It is better to take help from trading bots and apply your own reasoning before executing a trade.

Yup, that is exactly what I thought. No bot is capable of trading well in a market like that. Be it open source or proprietary.
I think the best way to run a bot would be to run in while the market is calm like now and shut it down when the prices start going wild.

using a bot successfully requires two important things first.
1. it needs you to know how to trade. which means you should know how the market works, when to get in and out of the different coins in each market and a lot of other small and big topics that you need to know first. in short you should have a lot of trading experience.
2. it needs you to know how to use the bot. this is easy to learn and will not take that much time. you can test it a little, see what features it has and then use it with bigger amounts or real money. bots aren't just an automatic thing you click start to give you money. you still need to work on them and set them in the right direction so that you can make profit.

I agree with both of your statements. The bot should behave in a similar way than my trades done by hand. And It kind of does. But even I don't know how to handle times of high volatility in an optimal way...guess I have to figure this out first.

I only know two bots that really work, the bot is gunbot and cat. these two bots will work well only if you know how to use it. but unfortunately, this bot is not free and you need to buy but after you learn about how to use the bot, you can make your own profit. and the best is you can add your bot in VPS so you can trade automatically without worry about anything. but still, I prefer to do manual trading and not using the bots because we need to always check the setting for the bot and if we are missed one set, we cannot make any profit. but it is up to you and it is better you ask the dev.

Try to follow the thread of the Gunbot https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/gunbot-automatic-poloniex-profit-generator-1715214 and you will see posts of known forum members there giving feedback about the Gunbot.  There's another one which is known as Profittrailer here's the link to the thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/profittrailer-bittrex-poloniex-binance-the-best-trading-bot-2274298. I am more interested with the Gunbot as the developer of this bot is very responsive and the development of the Bot is continuing.

Thanks for sharing this. I will definitely check them out! Do you by any chance know for an open source bot similar to those two?

None that I know of but try this one from this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/build-your-own-trading-bots-using-tradingview-for-free-1379538 , I have not used it or tried it yet but using Tradingview as a bot is very much interesting, however, not much replies on that thread, I assume that there is somewhat a problem because if this is indeed a good alternative, that thread should have reached a few pages.

It's risky to rely on bots in crypto trading because it's so risky that crypto markets are not as easy as other stock markets, it's better to trade yourself to put all your money better, become more confident, many people fail by depending on the bot then do not let you lose too much better with trust and technical analysis by your own head.

Go and learn something.

Don't worry I am Smiley that's why I'm interested in open source bots (should have been more specific). And would also like to know what people here are thinking about bots in general.

I have read in some comments here where people saying the exchanges are run by bots. But I had a hunch this is not exactly true. Even a very smart neural network would probably not be able to predict fluctuations like that...or would it?

I don't think there is decent trading bots open source most of the good ones cost a fee (not that expencive I believe). But in my humbe opinion bots are not that useful if you are not already a good trader;it surely helps but it won't make you rich out of air, skills are required no matter what.

If bots make money or give profit than everyone stop learning technical Analysis and start buying bots.  There is no easy way to make money.  Go and learn something.

There is no good trading bot yet, so I don't suggest you use a trading bot. I have tried a few bots and I don't like it. if people do trading with their own hands, that will give more confidence to the trader.

Don't be too confident in the bot trade, it can cause you to lose 90% of your account without your password
The most recent case is the BNB and a handful on HitBTC has led users to lose a lot of their money
