kucoin quite literally just giving away spot trading fee promotion for any new registered users, although it's just promotion code where you only get to use it once time and then you'll gonna need to pay for further fees but ku coin quite frequently giving away such thing so I guess they are good for long term. more over they are giving some kind of raffle for anyone that used their platform prominently for trading and you'll get the chance of earning some money out of it, the rest of exchange I don't really know but I heard with binance you just need to hold some BNB to get some discounts off your normal fees.
They have told me wonderful things about Kucoin and I have friends who trade futures there and that it is the best, if we compare it with Binance it turns out to be superior in everything, because one who is only dedicated to trading tells me that he loses a lot on Binance and he does not care. He has no faith in Binance, but in Kucoin it is much better, in fact the friend who is in Spain tells me that he trades there calmly despite the fact that the Treasury is so demanding, something that is always good to take into consideration, perhaps the requirements of KYC are not so strict and you can have those freedoms.

Remember FTX? Wasn’t that long ago so most of you still should.

But if you bought like 25 FTT you would get free maker trading. It was impressive because you didn’t need to trade
8 figures worth to get low fees. And 25 FTT wasn’t much, less than $1000 actually.

But it obviously should of been a hint because they ended up being a scam. So don’t believe any free trading exchanges. They need fees to operate.

I registered on mexc, probit — didn't trade for sometime and I got emails with discount on trading fees. I also had account on binance without kyc, they also sent me $20 trade fee discount voucher. Take it as you may.

Are there any promotions for spot trading without fees currently?

I think sometimes there are promotions that offer spot trading without commissions for the btc usdt pair or eth usdt pair
Most cryptocurrency exchanges charge transaction fees for both the spot and futures markets. However, there are some exceptions such as Binance, which offers a 0% trading fee for the BTC/TUSD trading pair.

Additionally, exchanges like Bybit, Kucoin, OKX, Mexc, and Bingx ... offer programs that give out tokens or coins that can be used to pay for trading fees.

Binance do have. If you trade using BUSD, there will be no commission cost or trading fee on every transaction for your trades.
When Binance started in 2017, it used to offer free trading across and it used to perplex me why any business would run on zero trading fees when it's not an NGO or charitable organization. My perplexity gave way to anxiety and worry as I soon began to imagine if Binance wouldn't disappear with investors (my) cash. Howbeit, it was a strategy to get traffic to its site as we can see years later. However, if I were OP I wouldn't worry so much about trading fees as I would worry about the safety of my funds. Safety comes first for me. I don't like the idea of "penny wise, pound foolish."

I tried binance spot trading without trading fees a few months ago. Not it is not available right now. You can try out the Mexc global exchange.

Anything that is free, will never stay for forever. And from what I know. Trading fee is very low on many reputable platforms. So the best thing is to give the fee that they want. Or move on to other platform which is as reliable as the previous one.
But when you are comfortable with one, and you are unable to find a new legit one or having some trust issue. It is better to stick to the one you are familiar with and pay the fee that they want. Because you don't wanna lose all your assets just because you refuse to pay a very small amount of fee.

At the moment I don't see any exchanges that have a promotion with no fee for conducting trading, but there is another platform whose trading fee is low compared to other exchanges, this is what I saw in the month of April 2023 https://money.com /best-crypto-exchanges/

I also don't know about other well-known exchange platforms, just try to check with others, good luck.

It's normal for a trade to have fees, because fees on pairs of USDT, BUSD or even BTC exchanges can have funds from members,
and can make the exchange not bankrupt, I'm more comfortable if the exchange has fees on all pairs.

Check out this one from Binance: https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/updates-on-zero-fee-bitcoin-trading-busd-zero-maker-fee-promotion-be13a645cca643d28eab5b9b34f2dc36

Fellow Binancians,

Binance will update the zero-fee Bitcoin trading program and BUSD zero maker fee promotion, effective from 2023-03-22 00:00 (UTC).
Validity Period: 2023-03-22 00:00 (UTC) until further notice

Such program is to attract people to be more actively trading but if you fail to realize that the more actively you are trading, the more likely you will get more loss by losing control on your mind, greed and you will more easily to be trapped by the market. If you fail to stop trading when you are uncertain about the market, but continue trading because you think you won't be charged trading fee. You will be charged more learning fee by the market.

AFAIK, Binance zero fee on trade is already over and this is the reason why volume on Binance drop significantly this month. https://decrypt.co/125376/end-zero-fee-program-hit-binance-market-share-harder-cftc-action-research

Deribit is the new exchange that will offer zero fee on spot trade without any requirements for all the user. https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2023/04/20/crypto-options-exchange-deribit-announces-zero-fee-spot-market/

This kind of offer attracts customers attention especially those who day trade with huge capital. They save a lot of money on fees.

There are promotions coming out for zero fee in spot trading. We know why there is something like that, because it is to encourage traders to use their platform. So there are new exchanges that are doing a similar promotion, and you might take a risk to use their platform just to avail that zero trading fee. Just be careful not to invest large amount of money in a new platform so that if ever something bad happens, you can save your other funds.
Besides, if you don't want to take risks to use unpopular platform, there are trusted platforms that make tasks for users, if they complete they will receive trading vouchers like Binance.

As of today, only Binance I see that offering such promotions OP.
This will obviously attract more traders as it gives chances for beginners to try trading for free and can really enjoy their $100. But we can't be sure how long this promotion stay as I believe this won't take so long.

People need to be careful about free things, I still trust Binance better than other exchanges, I remember when MEXC did their own free trading if you look at their order book you will understand that the spread is where they take their own fee from you If it is free, you are the fees. If you trade in size and you trade on Binance there is  a tie for you and but if you are a retail trader why worry about trading fees because it is low and won't impact your portfolio
If you are just using reputable exchanges like Binance, we have nothing to worry but if we are using new exchanges, that is something we need to look at and be cautious about. But, why we should look at untrusted exchanges when there is someone who can offer it in the first place?

I am not sure about other exchanges, but on Binance such promotions occur every once in a while. In fact most times Binance gives vouchers to its users that they can apply so they can trade some pairs without any trading fees. Sometimes those promotions allows each and every user of the exchange to trade without fees. In those times there isn't a need to apply any promo code at all.

I personally find such promotions as a way to attract more traders to their platform, but still that's a really good initiative taken by Binance as that helps current users a lot. I would definitely recommend you to go with Binance if you want such promotions as well a better trading experience. Their exchange is currently the top one in cryptocurrency market, and so far my experience has been amazing with them.

The only reason why they had spot free trading is because they made most of their money with their perp and futures trading. Those had crazy volumes and they made a small amount off the spot trading. So an exchange like Binance can do this.

Other exchanges like Coinbase or Gemini obviously can’t because they need the revenue from fees to survive. Also remember the fees might be free but there is still a spread and depending on the liquidity it might have a large spread between the bid and ask.

Well there are maybe some people who lost their minds in trading but I think there is only a few case like that.  Trading isn't gambling that you will lose control due to the uncontrollable urge to trade. (sounds familiar lol).  I do not think free trading fees will result in trading addiction or losses.   The losses is caused by the decision of the trader to take in riskier trades in hopes of a higher profit.  And not because a person is trading in a CEX with a free trading fee.

Btw, you can check this list[1] of exhanges that offers free trading fee.

I know Bybit and Binance had a promotion not a long time ago,
My recent trading records show me that I was not paying for spot trading fees on Binance for the BTCUSDT trading pair until somewhere after 18th March 2023

Bybit still has zero trading fee for 3 USDT pairs and several USDC trading pairs

I believe other exchanges having similar offers are Kucoin, Gateio etc but limited to specific trading pairs.

Oh, snap! Free trades on your wish list? I feel ya, buddy, I feel ya. But let's face the facts—we're talking trading, not a philanthropic escapade. If you wanna rake in the crypto dough, you've gotta be game to shell out some cash.

But hey, don't let it rain on your parade! Consider this—each trade is an opportunity to learn, to grow, to hone those killer skills. And who's to say? Your next trade might just skyrocket your profits to the moon!
