Use Linux you can have more control over it. No admin rights by default and no open ports.

I've never had my bitcoins stolen.  I've always kept them off my main systems.  I have the majority of my bitcoins stored in a netbook.  When I need to make a trade I boot up my netbook and let the bitcoin-qt program sync with the network.  It depends on how long it has been since I last sync'd with the network before I can do a trade tho.  One of the draw backs of my actions.

Using an updated OS, with an updated Antivirus software, and a strong firewall, gives you the possibility to be 80% secure Smiley
In the most of the cases, trojans are written to be run on windows OS, so using A linux OS keep you safe from these type of attack.

Even if they do steal it no one has been able to crack the official bitcoin wallet encryption anyway as long as your passphrase is long and diverse enough.

Or am I wrong about this? if so I would like to see the example.

I think people get a bit carried away with security, bitcoins are already far more secure than your standard bank account.

Keylogger.

Does your name reflect what you like or what your carrying around all day?

Both.

Linux operating systems are vulnerable too, be aware of that.
