I read Ann Coulter's book Adios America, which presents extensive research and data showing that we need to correct our immigration policies. The book convinced me that it was a very important issue, and Donald Trump's announcement speech seemed to be taken directly out of the pages of that book. Since I had studied the book and knew it to be based in solid facts, I was excited that a political candidate had clearly read the same book and was bringing those facts into the public debate.
And then I waited for a more mainstream candidate to agree with Trump and run with these important issues. I didn't think a reality TV star was the ideal candidate, so I thought it would be better to find the candidate who agreed with Trump but also had experience as an elected official.
But most of the leading Republican candidates called Trump hateful and racist for speaking the truth. Some of them were in favor of amnesty laws that would only exacerbate the problem and encourage more law-breaking.
So I voted for Trump. Not because I liked him more than everyone else, but because his facts were correct while others insisted on being incorrect.

Yeah... there are a lot of similarities between the two (Trump and Duterte). But the difference is that Duterte is having the power to do whatever he want in Philippines, while Trump is likely to face a lot of opposition from the establishment wing of his own party, if he try radical reforms.

Apparently he is a magician who can reduce both taxes and government budget deficit while fueling his pet projects of building the Mexican border wall and mass deportation of illegal immigrants. People also forget (or maybe don't know) that in 2018 elections will happen in the middle of Donald Trump's term. 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be up for grabs. 38 state governors and many other state and local elections will also happen. If Trump or the congress gets too stupid over the next two years a bunch of politicians will end up without jobs. There is no electoral college blocking the people in the case of the house and senate elections. They will simply be fired directly by the people and they know it.
