We need to get back to "globalization" ASAP. That's if we want peace and economic properity for all. Rising geopolitical conflicts will lead us towards a multi-polarized world. Each country will look for its own interests, instead of working together for a common good.
For thousands of years the world has been multi-polar and even though conflicts existed (and will continue to exist) but things weren't this bad.
Not to mention that what you described is not what globalization is. Globalization specially in a unipolar world means the entire world has to work for the good of that single pole. None of them are allowed to grow.
Take Saudi usurped Arabia for instance. The Arabs there are not allowed to have democracy. They have to endure an authoritarian regime because US wants it that way. This regime is allowed to sell lots of oil but it is not allowed to invest any of that money in the development of the country in any way that would benefit the citizens. They are only allowed to invest that money in America and they have to purchase weapons from the US and then also only use those weapons for the US.
This is why if you travel to Arabia and move one street away from the hotel you'd enter slums with people living in absolute poverty.
Maybe Trump and his team will get things back on track? Only time will tell. A strong US leadership is sure to put an end to this madness once and for all.
If by "back on track" you mean back to unipolar world, then no it is over.
If by "back on track" you mean end the wars, that is not going to happen with the radicals Trump appointed already to his cabinet.
If Trump was president instead of Biden, Russia wouldn't had invaded Ukraine, and the Middle East would've still been in peace.
Wrong on both counts.
Russia has been preparing to invade Ukraine and fight the NATO advancement at least from 2013.
West Asia has also been at war with the US ever since Bush decided to invade the region and "destroy 7 countries in 5 years" just because all those countries were rich with resources including oil. In other words destabilization of what you call "Middle East" started more than 2 decades ago and in fact Trump made a lot of things worse during his previous term.
Also in case you've forgotten during last month of his presidency everyone in the US was worried he will pull a "Reichstag Moment" and also start a nuclear war just to remain in power!
Thank God Trump won a second term. Now things will finally get interesting. It will all begin on Jan 20th, 2025 (Inauguration Day). A swift recovery of the world's economy awaits us...
That is wishful thinking in my opinion.
- With his version of Tariff War we'd be lucky if we see a recession+inflation like 2020 to 2023.
- With his warmongering cabinet we'd be lucky if we don't end up with a global nuclear war...
