Every time I do business online, or trade with someone there is a great deal of trust. While I always take steps to minimise that risk, its impossible to remove it entirely.

I guess the anonymity of the network is a blessing and a curse...

The more identifying information you know of someone, the more you can trust them.

That's because a free market rewards those who are trustworthy.

The less you know about someone's identity, the less you can trust them because then they won't be penalised for not being trustworthy because nobody will know who they are.

I'm really glad I read this thread.  My password was going to be one word so that I could remember it - doh!

I never thought of generating long passwords like the way you have described. Thanks for providing it! I would previously write down long random text strings. This is much easier, and memorable!

Bitcoins are too easy to steal.   Then when somebody has them, they're gone!  Never trust anonymous people on the internet.  Even people that you can ID will rip you off sometimes.

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't after you

I wouldn't say trust noone cos you wont get anything done that why, but definitely take precautions.

It doesn't make me feel better that sites like BitInstant, etc. seem to have issues more frequently than other things I use on a regular basis. Every time some site is down, I just assume they're up to something shady.
