Hi terrorblade3189,

I am really sorry that I missed your reply earlier. I would request you to provide us the proof of us charging 7% service charge. I would also like to know why was this concern not raised while you exchanged the bitcoin & cash in person? You could have very well denied the exchange when our representative met you in person to collect the cash and deliver the bitcoin. You even contacted us the next day to make another trade as well.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, we provided a service where in there was a risk involved in dealing with cash in person, specially on higher amounts and no other exchanges provide you that service. Yet we provided you with the best possible price with transparency.

I am really sorry to say that you are making a baseless allegation, after many days of the exchange without providing any proof.

Hi Digitalbitcoin,

In your comments regarding SSL certificate, we don't store any financial or sensitive info on our website. We are currently in beta stage and we would definitely consider your feedback for further improvements to our site.

Hi @terrorblade3189,

As discussed with you earlier, we have processed your order based on the real time price of the bitcoin. You may check the bitcoin price chart of 31st May 2016 and see the real time price fluctuation. The price did fluctuate from the time you contacted us, to the time your funds were received and processed. The screen shot you are referring to, is just the money deposited to Coinsecure. There was a request placed after that to buy bitcoin, which includes the exchange fees and was sent to you deducting our service charge which was 1%.

Our charges are real time and are higher compared to other exchanges due our mode of operation and the risk involved in dealing with cash in person. We are sorry that you didn’t receive your expected bitcoin value, despite providing you with the best possible pricing.

Regards

Trybitcoin

Well As i told you.. I'm not stupid to buy at 4000 rs extra per bitcoin when I could've as well bought at other places for much cheaper. I did check the price , since I'm an avid trader and not the first time playing the bitcoin graph. I was monitoring it specifically and noticed that it hiked only after an hour or so after  I received the bitcoins . The price SHOULD be locked at what price I placed the order at , since that's what your site clearly states and that would be the time of my purchasing the bitcoin. It's just common sense. I'm sorry you people felt the need to steal almost 10,000 rs  which is surely not 1% service charge. More like service charge of 7% .
I observed across all the sites before buying the prices on your site were the lowest. But OFCOURSE just when you received the money .. the prices across every bitcoin site were EXACTLY the same , except yours which "Suddenly" spiked ... and obviously you blame it on BTC volatility.
Classic Scam.

Well must have to do little search for site trust before making and transaction.

I see site trybitcoin.in dont have even SSL certification. And still how you trust on them.
There are already good option in india for buying and selling bitcoins with good rate. Coinsecure is one of them with strongest security. Bitcoin is anonymous currency so it's impossible to trace identity.

So Always go with trusted sites only for buying and selling bitcoins.

Yeah I didn't do my due diligence actually . I was registered on some secure sites already. But i got greedy for a little lower price on Trybitcoin. Definitely my fault.. but surely not recommended for anyone trying to get into the bitcoin scene.

I seriously doubt it. His response to that question was "Eh, well, you know, *mumble mumble*....*incomprehensible gibberish*"

Anyway, localbitoins banned his account from trading, just to let you guys know; for violating their policy of luring buyers away from the site and thus losing escrow protection. Quoting the site admin directly

"The user has been suspended and is not allowed to trade anymore, because he was trying to trade out of localbitcoins escrow protection."

Yup, I opened a complaint ticket right after reading @terrorblade3189's experience. I admit it and I have no qualms about it! This just is NOT right! It ruins things for the community at large. I went with him after reading articles about him in the Economic Times about him being some sort of pioneer of the Indian BTC scene in 2013. I thought he was trustworthy.

EDIT:

But please be wary that he has other related accounts. I don't know where to post this, if necessary (which thread I mean). The accounts have the same telephone/whatsapp number but list different cities from in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telangana, all the way to Delhi.

Yup I've done the same and posted a few times on facebook and twitter, I'm hoping that should be enough for people to know NOT to buy from there atleast.
Exactly my thoughts , I guess everyone who puts on that image seems trustworthy until they're not. Seriously , Just for 0.2 BTC.  Seems Desperate .

Did anyone asked Unocoin why did he left them rather than asking him about the same?

Well As I've heard they had different business interests. But I'm not really sure if that's the right story. I need to check that out , I'll get back to you on that.

The EXACT same thing happened to me last night (almost). By sheer luck, no ATM drop-box was available. After I got home, his BTC price had increased by 4000+ (in a few hours??? wtf?)

Thing is, this was supposed to be a face-to-face on localbitcoins.com. But instead of keeping up to what was advertised (ie. doing the transaction at my place, I was asked to meet him and hand him the cash and wait for acknowledgement. BUT I had to go to his website trybitcoin.in and register and do it there. So the price on localbitcoins was 18000 INR and it increased to nearly 19500 INR. Not much, difference, but it's the principle involved.

When I asked him why he left Unocoin, I did not get a proper and clear answer. This was really fishy, so I cancelled the deal on localbitcoins and reported it. (Guidelines were that users were NOT supposed to be redirected elsewhere to do transactions!) I'm an idiot for not reading that, but thank God I could NOT find a drop box on time! Then I saw this report and thought.....exact same MO!

What the hell man? I thought this guy was some bigshot and trustworthy and all???

Really depressing. And he was the only one willing to do Cash Transfers face-to-face! Now I'm stuck! Thanks a lot vikram nikkam. Your site does NOT even let me CANCEL my damn order! Your site is registered to a GMAIL address. Even google reports the site as borderline in terms of trustworthiness (51%).

I don't know if anyone else has encountered this, but this was my experience yesterday and now I'm friggin paranoid about doing business in BTC n India!

Yup, Wow I'm glad you didn't end up buying though, Pretty much the exact same thing happened to me, I was pissed off about the 0.2 btc loss but definitely more so at their responses and attitude.
He can easily change the price to what he wants on his site. The irony is that he uses the prices on his own site as reference when telling us why we got lesser BTC then we were supposed to.

It is a little hard to buy BTC here without bank accounts and kyc/aml details , you gotta find someone trustworthy and stick to him.

So did you try contacted with that person after the incident or stopped it completely ?

Yup i did try to contact them quite a few times. The first and only time Vikram Responded with " If you think it's overpriced you should go somewhere else , we sell at these rates. " He failed to tell me about the reason for the sudden price increase only on their site.. he was avoiding this question throughout, obviously No one can explain why it increased by 60-70$ in 30 minutes of placing the order. I even had screen shots of the time of placing the order, where the price was much lesser, But still no response from them. I've really got past the fact that I've been scammed for 0.2 BTC or so. Talking to them further is not even worth my time, because it seems like a poor sideshow of a company trying to make a quick buck by scamming people for a few thousand Rupees.

I'm pretty sure eventually people will realize , the bitcoin community isn't that big yet.  A few bucks now will cost him a lot later.

Ohhh ic. Ask Unocin then the relation with Vikram. Also may be he would be scamming others may be if that is the case.

Yup..It's good to stick to unocoin or zebpay . I don't think his reputation is even worth 0.2 btc.

At the time
when I placed the order I was getting
5.35 BTC from their website, Which
was a better rate then unocoin or
Zebpay
How much btc was you getting from Zebpay and unocoin at that time?
Hey, I was getting 5.27 from Zebpay and 5.23 from Unocoin at the exact time. Trybitcoin.in showed it as 5.35 BTC at the time I placed the order. When I called up to ask them, they told me they offer a "competitive edge" over others exchanges in India. Hence I decided to buy from them .

Quote

I ended up getting 5.07 BTC ( which
was worth only 1.89 LAKHS)
Quote
Was you getting more or less same amount from Zebpay, unocoin if you bought from them?
It is sad you lost your money but whenever you see someone offering something for to good to be true price, always take extra care before dealing

After the transaction i Checked I was getting a lot more atleast ( Rs - 10000-14000 more btc from Zebpay and unocoin) . Yup, I would be very careful from now on.I can just imagine the number of people that would get scammed by the lure of cheaper prices, Seeing it is still new to India, It'd be bad if that was the first impression they got. It's damn annoying that people like this could end up spoiling the reputation of bitcoins in India.
