In the 2nd match of the day, Ankaragücü heavily defeated their easy opponent and passed the round.Ankaragücü's opponent was not very tough for Ankaragücü and since the matches in this round are single match procedure, whoever wins jumps through.Ankaragücü, who finished 2-0 ahead in the first half, did not leave their dominance in the match and continued to load up to score more goals. In the second half, Ankaragücü, who scored 3 more goals and conceded 1 goal, defeated Ankaragücü with a score of 5-1 in total and passed the round.
The last match of the day will be played between Galatasaray and Bandırmaspor.Of course, the favorite side is heavily Galatasaray and I don't even think that bandırmaspor can find a goal.So if Galatasaray rotates, they can win with a score like 3-0.

today's games involving one of the 2 big teams have an easy game on paper, this is because their opponent, Bandirmaspor, doesn't seem to me to be a strong team, from what I could see in the last few games they haven't shown to have very good results and adding the fact that They are a lower league team and even in the lower league they are not the best team, they are in position number 7 with 33 points and in the last 5 games in that lower league they only managed to win just 1 game. They had 3 defeats, 1 draw and only 1 victory. I see this as being a top performance, so if Galatasaray doesn't rotate players they can win this game with a lot of goals scored, but if Galatasaray's coach rotates players they can win the game with just a few goals.

In my opinion, I think it is very difficult to see any negative result in this Galatasaray game against this Bandirmaspor team. in another MKE Ankaragucu game which will be against 24Erzincanspor, it seems to me that Ankaragucu will have difficulties to win the game, so far they are playing 30 minutes but the game did not have any goals, despite 24Erzincanspor being from a much inferior team, they can surprise in this game, because Ankaragucu in the last major league games has been a little inconsistent but they have a decent attack to be able to score a goal in today's game. I'm following the game a little, at least in those 30 minutes I watched it, but I don't know if I'll be able to watch the game until the end.

The last 16 round of the Turkish Cup started today. The first match of the day was between Fatih Karagümrük and Samsunspor. The first half of the match ended scoreless and the goals came in the second half.Samsunspor managed to score the first goal in the second half, but Karagümrük responded immediately and equalized the situation. With the goal in the last minutes, Karagümrük managed to pass the round.Karagümrük played a better game at home and we can say that they deserved to win.Samsunspor's goal this season should be to stay in the league rather than the cup and so I don't think they will be too upset.

The Round of 16 matches in the cup started today. In the first match, Fatih Karagümrük beat Samsunspor 2-1 and became the first team to advance to the quarter-finals. In the second match of the day, Super League team MKE Ankaragücü will play against 2nd League team 24Erzincanspor. Let's see if there will be any surprises in this match. In the last match of the day, Galatasaray will play with 1st League team Bandırmaspor. It's very unlikely that there will be any surprises in that match. Matches will continue tomorrow and Thursday and the round of 16 round will be over.

There won't be many surprises in this round. Teams from lower leagues don't have much of a chance.
I have no doubt about Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, they should easily advance to the next round. I'm not so sure about Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor, but they will do their best to get to the next round. For now, as you said, there will be no surprise results, so it will be an normal quarter-final cup elimination.

In the semi-finals, the gear increases a little more and we see enjoyable matches between the top league teams.

I assumed that It would be a simple match for Galatasaray. But things weren't really going on very comfortable for them in the first half of the match. Barış Alper Yılmaz and Kerem Demirbay had very good performances. Tete, Zaha and Ndombele had very poor performances. Young football player Eyüp Aydın played to starting line-up in the first time.

The format of the Turkish Cup has changed for next year and it will be group style next year. This seems a little better than the current situation. When there is a group, at least the big teams can go to other cities of the country. In the current situation, the big teams are seeded, so they become the home team and go on the field with mostly reserve players and beat the opponent. The Turkish Cup should be attractive for other city teams as well. Teams like Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş should go to cities like Van, Ağrı, Hakkari and Diyarbakır. There are many big team fans in those provinces, but this will be the chance to watch these football players in the stadium for perhaps the first time in his life.
As for the cup format, I like the format of the Spanish King's Cup. I think it can be a good example for Türkiye.

Playing group matches can be boring for big teams. But the new format may be nice, I agree with what you say. The only way for Anatolian teams and the players playing in these teams to play against big teams is the Turkish Cup. That's why I love cup matches. Even though the quality is low, I think it's a good thing that players get the opportunity in such matches.
Thanks to these matches, players can become stars. It will also be a good thing for the fans, it will bring movement to small cities Smiley

As for the cup format, I like the format of the Spanish King's Cup. I think it can be a good example for Türkiye.
If it is categorized as group style competition then the division of teams might be very worrying because when the big team is in the same group as the bottom team then it is clear that the bottom team will always lose and of course there will never be chance to continue progressing until the competition ends.
Maybe there will be some special sentiments from football fans when their proud team has to compete in the same group with big team like Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Besiktas.
However, in this competition there should be fair distribution and it should really be accepted by all the team that will compete, but still in every competition I sure that only the big team will be able to win the championship title.

By having move in each match, each team will be able to advance financially when the stadium they own is used to run the match and this can really advance each team support capabilities from financial perspective.
I know that the progress of Turkish football is far behind that of several other countries, they must be able to develop progress as well as possible.
There will probably be 4 groups or 3 groups. Big teams are seeded. Other teams are distributed into groups according to their success in the previous year.
The most important issue here is, even if the matches are group matches, will there be a single match or a rematch etc.? I don't know about that, but I think it should be. For example, he should play with Fenerbahçe Hakkarispor both in Istanbul and Hakkari. Big teams need to go to other small cities. He needs to build his squad accordingly. Generally, big teams see such cups as a waste of time, but if sponsors pay good fees, the Turkish Cup may be more attractive. If the reward is not good, big teams will not show interest in such events. I think it will be better next year.

If the tournament is organized as group matches, more matches will be played. Fewer matches will be played if the tournament is held in qualifying matches. Considering the league matches, the European Cup matches and the World Cup matches, I think it makes more sense for this tournament to be played in qualifying matches, because when you put it side by side with the other cups, this tournament may be in the last place in terms of importance. There's no need for the players to be in an intense match schedule because they are more likely to get injuries if they play more matches.

Playing too many matches doesn't suit big teams. They want to play as few matches as possible and win the cup. In fact, if it were up to them, they would want a tournament to be held among the 4 big teams and one of them to be awarded a cup. While the big teams are focused on the league, cup matches seem like a chore for them. Because the prize money given is very small. They only want to win the cup for prestige. 3 points in the league brings much better money. Therefore, to increase interest in the cup, they should increase the prize money instead of constantly playing around with the format. But such a thing is not possible while this federation, which has difficulty even finding sponsors and uses state institutions as sponsors, is in office.

Trabzonspor won 3-1 to advance to the next round of the cup after leading 2-1 in the first half.We can't say that they took the game very seriously because it was at home, but the fact that the opponent can't push too hard leads to too many goals being scored in this kind of matches.
Galatasaray, on the other hand, defeated Umraniyespor 4-1 at home to advance to the next round. In the 5th round, there were some surprise encounters, but in general we see that the Super League teams managed to eliminate their opponents.Even though the teams did not come out with their starting line-ups, we saw that there were mutual goals in all matches. This is actually an indication that the teams in the lower leagues will not be taken lightly.

I was having some doubts about Galatasaray when I first saw their starting 11 for the Umraniyespor match. For now things aren't really going on very comfortable for them. They were 1-0 behind first but now it is 1-1. It is like Barış Alper Yılmaz is the only player doing something on the pitch. Because he was shown a yellow card first after that an own goal by him. Right after that he made up for it by scoring an equalizer.  Grin

Just now Galatasaray have got ahead by 2-1.  Smiley  It is a goal for Tete which must be some help for his self confidence at the same time. Because Tete couldn't score a single goal until now since the first Copenhagen game in the Champions League group stage.

I believe Tete is actually a quite skilled player. He is still 23 years old which is an age very open to development. I still can't believe how Galatasaray managed to sign him for free. Shakhtar filed a claim about this transfer but I guess there isn't any problem for Galatasaray side.
I am really doubtful with Tete to be honest. He shows some skills when he wants to play. But he is too selfish. He can't exactly read a game to be efficient winger. Such players can only play as winger striker in my opinion. Galatasaray should try him like that. As traditional winger he just doesn't perform well. I prefer Zaha over Tete anyday. I feel like Tete will leave Galatasaray at the end of this season or next season. He still has time to shine.

The three big teams in the league reached 16 round with different results. He managed to advance to the next round by beating his opponent in Galatasaray today. Galatasaray actually started the match badly today. Ümraniye Spor scored its first goal in the attack with Barış Alper's backhand shot at the 22nd minute.

Barış Alper made up for his mistake 10 minutes later. The assist came from Kerem Demirbay. He is a very good midfielder. Okan Buruk should evaluate him better and give him more chances. Icardi watched the match from the stands today, but there was no need for him as the remaining players scored four goals and beat Ümraniyespor. Icardiye will be needed more in the round of 16.

Without much surprise, the teams advanced to the last 16 round. The Big 4 didn't struggle in their matches. 13 teams from the Super League will be in the last 16. There are 2 1st League teams and 1 2nd League team. I find it normal that Teksüt Bandırmaspor and Gençlerbirliği from the 1st League, but the fact that Anagold 24 Erzincanspor from the 2nd League is in this round is a great pride for them. They eliminated Adana Demirspor on penalties and had a dream match ending. Let's see who will be their opponents in this round.
The fact that the big teams are seeded kills some excitement in the tournament. They play at home and they have a chance to win the cup in only 5 matches. This format will change next year but the new one is also not very good.

Galatasaray had a comfortable win tonight. They beat Ümraniyespor 4-1. The game ended as everyone expected.
Barış Alper scored the only goal for Umraniyespor. Barış Alper scored a goal for both teams tonight.

Trabzonspor also won tonight, didn't allow any surprises and advanced to the next round.

Konyaspor managed to defeat Goztepe at home. There were not many positions in the first half and it ended in a goalless draw. The second half was more exciting. Goztepe scored the first goal of the match and took the lead, but Konyaspor managed to equalize. The match went into extra time and Konyaspor managed to win the match in extra time and defeated their opponent.
Trabzonspor vs Manisa FK match is going on right now. Trabzonspor managed to dominate heavily against their opponent in the first half. They managed to close the first half 2-1 ahead and most probably they will defeat them.
