It's quite interesting to see the current standings, we see the fierce competition for the title, we even see teams that have never dominated before participating at the top of the standings, but keep in mind that this is still the beginning of the league, there are still 10 games that have been played, still there are 28 more games.
But I wonder, why Istanbul so bad this season? currently they are only 11th in the standings, anyone know the reason for their poor performance?
In the last two seasons they have continued to decline in the final standings of the turkish league, even though in the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 seasons their performances were quite consistent and could end the season as runners-up and champions of the turkish super league, but this season it seems that their greatness has disappeared, I think they were too passive in the past transfer market so make them less competitive with Besiktas, Fenerbache and Galatasaray at the moment.
Which İstanbul team are you talking about? There are six teams from İstanbul but there is no team named İstanbul in Super League, it's city name. Başakşehir FK is in 11th position, there is no İstanbul in their name. They are going pretty good lately, they beat Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Antalyaspor.
Only quarter of the league is over and standings mean nothing right now. You won't see Hatayspor or Alanyaspor at these positions in last quarter. Top 4 teams will still be there and fight for championship obviously. This season Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş are favorites, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray will stay in the race until last quarter. So it's too early to talk about championship chances.
In the turkish league, there are indeed many clubs that have the name istanbul, but if you look closely at what @MAAManda said, of course you will know that he meant istanbul BB, because right now istanbul BB is in 11th position in the standings.
