For us, the only weapon for this scam is to,

- Educate ourselves. There's no such thing as free BTC. Not even people who are very rich such such Elon Musk and Bill Gates will give anyone free money. Don't be greedy.

- Report those malicious websites to Youtube/Google, and to it's domain registrars so that it will be taken down.

- You can used this websites to check for scam bitcoin addresses,

   https://www.bitcoinabuse.com/ and https://scam-alert.io/

- Stay alert and be vigilant.

- Frequent this board: Scam Accusations

Yeah a good way around scams, and not just crypto scams, is education. If it sounds too good to be true or asks you to send money, then your scam sensor should immediately start tingling.

What is the crypto community doing/(able to do) about Twitter and Youtube crypto scams? The other day I was recommended a SpaceX live stream that was promoting a btc/eth scam, and this was on Youtube's homepage. I've seen these scams on twitter for years, and they only seem to be getting worse, so I don't have much faith in either of these platforms solving the problem any time soon.

Is there anything we can do as a community to prevent people from sending their crypto to these scammers? Could we build bots that crawl these social networks and add potential scam addresses to a database that wallets/exchanges can check against before letting users atomically send their crypto? I know the most obvious solution is to educate people to recognize scams, but that doesn't seem to be happening.

See the problem is that the scammers are everywhere
And we can't even detect them, going to all this social media for cryptoccurrency transaction i think is not ideal because majority there discussing cryptoccurrency is scammers, most especially in Twitter, I really disregard those platform's in terms of btc transaction.

It is a serious topic which we should worry about. Actually scammers are already figure out the weak point of human being. The weak point is GREEDINESS . They will give a lots of scheme to grab/ steal Your assets. YOU are talking about SpaceX, inface the exchange latoken also promote SpaceX . I mean to say on the ground reality no one there to crosscheck. There is no doubt profit is huge in cryptocurrrency , but scammers also huge in numbers.

Before these post of scams we must denounce them and teach the public to avoid being scammed. Our community lives in constant attacks from these individuals. As we know their modes of operation, we can identify and report them without any doubt. These scammers is a part of the bad side of cryptocurrencies that every person who starts up in the crypto space should know.

The only possible way to avoid such scams is to of course make ourselves aware and be knowledgeable to better distinguish a scam from a legitimate one. Do not fall on give aways and certain bonuses coming from strange ads and people of course. Always verify and check the credibility to see if it is a legitimate one or just a scam scheme. You can always seek attention here in the forum to raise awareness and answer inquiries about a certain matter which you find strange or suspicious so that people can help you out in here to share thoughts and opinions so you can better know if you are engaging on a legit one. Do not attempt pursuing a thing you certainly do not know because you will get caught off guard to fall on a scam scheme. Those scammers are getting wise so we must get wiser as well not to fall for those schemes.

Have seen these scams several times and wasn't moved to pay listing ears to their crabs. The biggest problems we'll have as cryptocurrency enthusiasts is greediness towards free internet money. Nothing is free and those who say this on YouTube and Twitter handles aren't saying the truth but to scam, they won't give you anything but will take your money away. If this community can have control over greediness among itself then there won't be a problem to this.

There is not much we can do about the many twitter or youtube scams, the best choice is educate ourselves and also educate
other people to get to know the scams. That way you can avoid scammers, even though in practice it is very difficult. Because
greed makes us easily deceived.

We can't fully stop the scam. But we can raise awareness among the people by exposing the scams which will keep them safe from such situations next time. Depending on the market conditions, scammers come up with new scam ideas that newcomers don't easily understand, and that's why they fall prey to those scams.
I've been raising awareness for crypto scams for years now especially to my friends online, but I keep receiving questions like " Yo, wassup is this real company? they are offering passive income using ETH" and I'm like woah wait a minute, passive income with ethereum? stay away from that one. Most these days are about DeFi, I don't wanna say that DeFi is a scam coz there are some working projects right now, but I can conclude that there are already scam projects on their way right now. A hype like this is an open gate for scammers.

If people cannot control their greed then there is no point in raising awareness. Most scams are done using human greed.
Greed is a shovel of their own grave. Once you did not notice a detail of one of your investment, that could turn into a sad memory of yours. Better to know what's in of that project before jumping into, crypto scene is half scam.

These have been a way for scammers to take the trust of these well-known celebrities and their likeness to try and fool people into sending them funds and some legitimate youtubers have been effected when I reported about it starting to happen more than 3-4 months ago.
These big names in the crypto youtube space: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/another-crypto-youtuber-given-a-ban-for-breach-of-terms-of-service-5242169 & https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/tone-vays-channel-deleted-from-youtube-5241100
But there is a new way they are scamming even the technical savvy crypto users by using DeFi. Which seem to be the new buzz word for those who are looking to get rich quick in crypto.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/is-it-the-new-crypto-scam-hiding-in-wait-5268308
But it just doesn't work out that way if many think it is possible if not super lucky and got in early enough at the beginning.

Scams are everywhere but I think Twitter and YouTube channels is where you'll see most of the crypto scams originating from. Each time I logged in on Twitter, I keep seeing ad's of crypto scams. It very annoying and tiring for such to happen on Twitter consistently without stop.
Crypto newbies are the one's that will easily fall in to their unscrupulous scams. I do pity the newbies anyway

As a community, we need to teach the people not the scammers because they are everywhere, so people need to grow up and realize that making money is not such easy like spending and getting in double in few minutes.Legit wat of making take years and also the return will be very low compared to these bitcoin doubler scams. If you see any of those scam posts then don't forget to report it as a scam.
Everyday when I am watching on youtube or checking my twitter account I am seeing ads about crypto or bitcoin promoting their campaigns then once, I tried to join but when I register after an hour I have notice that it seems like someone is using my social media accounts and I didn't notice that the app on the ad I clicked was a phishing app. Luckily all of my social media accounts are secured and not easily to hack.
Never ever enter your login details of any accounts on random websites to get rewards or for any other reasons because they can read what you are entering and can access your accounts with that information.Better add 2FA to get some kind of better security to such phishing attacks.

I do admire people who care and is very enthusiastic about Bitcoin's future and cryptocurrencies as a whole. We do know that in this line of business (if we call this one a business that is), it is somewhat expected that issues will occur like scams and fraud and many will use many different platforms on the internet to seduce would be victims of scams. Social media is also used since there are many easy targets in spreading false information on that medium. We need to be aware, we have to research and learn some things that can help us avoid these traps and help us identify suspicious websites. Bitcointalk forum is also helpful in giving us information we need so that we can start and at least avoid being scammed.

Because of such scams, Youtube has already banned many harmless crypto channels.
Because of scams before, even Facebook was blocked and banned many ICO during 2018. This is the reason why most of the people nowadays are fear in investing in coins. They thought that bitcoin was scam due to the scammers who used cryptocurrency to fool other people. But probably, time will come youtube and other large social media sites will recognize cryptocurrency and it`s utility that may give in future use. Cryptocurrency scam event will eradicate soon as the real projects (DEFI) will arise.
