Quick Update

Currently Infernoman is working on wallet version 1.2.2.3, and we don't have a date for release yet. This wallet update is a GUI update, so it is Not a mandatory update.  When the new wallet releases we will remove the message "Please update to Client version 1.2.2.2 If you have already updated ignore this message." That people see at the top of the clients and the block explorer.

So what is happening right now?

Currently Infernoman is working on an Arbitrage Bot for the wallet. He would like to release with the arbitrage bot included. He has most of it figured out, it's just getting everything working on C++. When he figures out these first few functions and verify they are working, then the process should be much faster for completion. Since this feature will be wallet based, it will be dependent on your wallet balance. Only if the wallet balance is More than the amount set, will the feature work. (The balance needed is up for discussion, so please voice your idea.) The exchanges that will be included are 1ex.Trade, Safecex, and Bittrex. The balance required for 1ex.Trade and Safecex should be lower as they are the low volume exchanges. The current thought to have all 3 exchanges available is 10,000 Transfer.

What is Arbitrage?

Below is the definition stated at Investopedia. The link has a nice video explanation. http://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/arbitrage.asp

The simultaneous purchase and sale of an asset in order to profit from a difference in the price. It is a trade that profits by exploiting price differences of identical or similar financial instruments, on different markets or in different forms. Arbitrage exists as a result of market inefficiencies; it provides a mechanism to ensure prices do not deviate substantially from fair value for long periods of time.

More

Previously stated updates to the wallet are still on. Like Dynamic DNS for Masternodes and GUI for creating Masternodes. We have really been growing in community and development. Lets keep spreading the word and try to recruit new people to join our community. I have been very happy with the trading improvement on exchanges, since my post a couple of days ago, and I think it is making a huge difference.

As always watch for tweets about #Transfercoin. I did a payout the other day of 2600 TX from the @CoinPromo account. You can use this link http://transfercoin.io/twitter-tip-bot/ on how to use the tip bot. Follow @cheyms as he is doing giveaways of TX as well.

Also if you want to join the IRC channel here is a link for #Transfercoin Channel. https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.kiwiirc.com/#Transfercoin. We tip there and discuss ideas for Transfercoin. We also discuss other cryptos and services they have.

Don't forget this update about the Trezor Giveaway: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.13777214

Anyone know why it is before a reboot I have over 31 connections in my wallet.  After reboot I can barely keep 2 connections?  Please advise.

Maybe they take some time to show up?  I restarted wallet and only 2 is showing at the moment after 15 mins.

Another way to do the trezor giveaway is to use the twitter tip bot. Have participants "tip" the 100 TX to a particular user. This does a few things...to name a couple...
  • Creates buzz
  • Forces people to learn and use the tip bot
  • Opens the giveaway up to a larger audience

So we had thought of using https://gleam.io/. Which is geared around social media. Also Stoner19 showed me https://www.rafflecopter.com/. The issue with hosting it via twitter is not everyone in our community uses it. We wanted to make sure that everyone would be included.

You do spur a great idea though. The community could sub-promote the giveaway by giving away 101 TX (101 to pay there withdraw fee from the bot, which is 1 TX) for retweeting or doing whatever. The still same rule would still apply that the 100 TX for a ticket would need to come from the same address each time.

Edit: Strike-through

First of all a big thank you to WigitGetIt to keep the raffle despite unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances, and the community coming together to solve this seemingly trivial "problem".  Maybe the solution will lead us to even better things.  Anyways.  /circlejerk.

I personally don't like to use social media much, and find it a chore.  What attracted to me to TX is the annoniminity(?) about it, the dash like features, cross-send, and the trustless masternode services.  since WigitGetIt and Infernoman are the undisputed leaders of TX, I think trust them to follow through with the raffle as intended without malice.  I would really just want an address to send the lottery fund to and be done.  and if I end up not wanting the treazor if i don't want to reveal my mailing address or something, i'd like to have a way to "transfer" it to maybe $ value of TX with just my address.

it's a tough situation..but isn't this what crypto is supposed to solve?

I've never used those services myself but if that's the ticket then go with it. I defiantly think social media should be involved in some way.

Trezor Giveaway Update 2/4/2016.

Also Updated at the original post. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.13630591
_______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________
Update 2/4/2016 Looks like the length will be 1 month from the day we start. Poll Results below. I am working on getting a script now, so it can be reviewed by everyone.

_______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________
Update 2/4/2016 Infernoman found a script that we believe will work perfectly for this and as long as people agree, we can get started almost immediately. We will randomize the addresses from the script to pick the winner.

Here is the Source: https://github.com/coolaj86/knuth-shuffle
Script in Action: http://bost.ocks.org/mike/shuffle/

Price per ticket will be 100 TX
which is 0.002364BTC. Currently 0.002364BTC is worth 0.91017614BTC

There will be 1 Transfercoin Address Provided, that everyone entering will send to. Each person entering will need to send entries from the same Transfercoin Address. This will make it easier for us to track tickets purchased.

Below is the Google Form we will use. Infernoman and myself will have edit access to track entries.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1T-WajAh-QkTxhaEyap6Qypt-wTtfmTCyRq2ZO8fgNag/edit?ts=56b398f3#gid=0

As noted above the Giveaway will last for 1 Month.  Example: If we start February 8th we'll end March 8th.

Please let us know how your thoughts, as I know everyone would like to get this started.

Edit: Adding this from raimch89

We had a conversation in IRC this morning about trading. I hate talking about it really but it is necessary.

I am concerned that 99.9% of our trading volume is at Bittrex.--->>>> http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/transfercoin/#markets

I know people want us to be accepted at Poloniex and I do too. We really can only keep requesting and showing improvement in volume. It is pretty much out of our hands.

What we can control is trading on exchanges, that already have us listed.

I would like to know what the concerns or experiences of the community are trading at the below exchanges.

Yobit: https://yobit.net/en/trade/TX/BTC (Averages about 0.01BTC Volume
Safecex: https://safecex.com/market?q=TX/BTC (Averages about 0.009 BTC Volume
BTCPool Exchange: https://btcpool.exchange/Market?pair=TX/BTC (No Volume- Only been there three days)
1ex.trade: https://1ex.trade/?c_currency=53 (Average 0.013BTC (Decent volume- Only be open 3 days)

I know trust is a big factor in exchanges. I feel the same. If you have an idea on how we can get more eyes on Transfercoin. Try to leave some details on how to approach and we can build off that idea.

I hope to have an update on the Trezor giveaway soon.  Keep an eye out here. Edit: Just Updated https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.13630591

raimch89 I like the signature idea. I am looking at the successful ones and seeing how they are organizing them. If you know some off the top of your head post a link here for us.

As always I am very grateful for the work being done by everyone. A lot of us are looking to the future of the project and that is awesome.
