Hello Forum

are there studies/surveys about Bitcoin-users? If possible structured in:

- age
- profession
- country

Thank you very much!

Joe

People want to stay anonymous
For this reason it is not possible to collect such information.
Even so,
If you want to collect this information, you can arrange a survey. try google forms.
yes such information cannot be gain here, people do not want to disclose their identity here there for other other ways should be used for that.

I hope no one is ready to share personal information to third party users because at present bitcoin is complicated one because there are scammers outside who want to steal our personal information and more over bitcoin is not completely legalized yet.

It's so hard to know, not exactly but with many assumptions how many are bitcoin users on a global scale that is impossible to know all these you are asking. If there is ever a researcher could conduct such a survey would probably become rich overnight because there are people and organizations, eg banks, willing to pay a lot of money for a valid and thorough study.

You are asking us typical question from bitcoin users. I think you know that many person not give you correct information about himself, because it is not necessary, that's why people avoid it. But when it is necessary than definitely everyone give it. But i want to ask you, Why you are asking for us? because you are not explain about anything yourself. First of all, you should explain about yourself, than ask us.

Indeed, that is what i find odd about all those survey people, they immediatly start asking you questions, which firstly i don't want to answer, and secondly they don't even tell who they are, and for what they need it... It's so funny that you are actually expecting serious answers if you are handling this way...

It's pretty much impossible to get those information's , age is not required while making a bitcoin address/wallet and profession is clearly not too[...]
U can estimate that through google trends. Go to google trends page, enter word bitcoin and see which countries use bitcoin the most and which don't at all etc.
i think it is not so easy to find out about the fact that from which country the users of bitcoin are not so much, there are a lot of people who are visiting bitcoin forum but still they are not investing their money or not taking practical participation in bitcoin .
That is true. There is a lot of people visiting here or encountering bitcoin on different online website but still they didn't want to invest their small part of their money for a great form of currency: cryptocurrency. You can't tell which country has the most users of bitcoin using counts of accounts online or so because it is very easy to create multiple accounts online.

Yes, especially us interested people who don't have money to begin with. I've heard of people who make btc online but quite clueless how they do it. Well, I got some starter bits from a relative so might as well just look around how to grow it.

We have our own ways and methods on how to earn bitcoin without the need on investing our money.Knowing the actual location of most bitcoin users is somehow impossible because as others said here theres no need on any information regarding to the user who uses bitcoin or tend to register a new bitcoin address thats the one of the features of bitcoin and thats the anonymity of bitcoin.

Google trends is probably the worst way to estimate that too. A search could have multiple users and a user could search for the same thing over and over and google gives numbers based on the numbers of search and has nothing to do with your IP and It doesn't check a unique search , without forgetting that people could search about bitcoin just because they are curious and not because they are using it too.

It's pretty much impossible to get those information's , age is not required while making a bitcoin address/wallet and profession is clearly not too , and finally this is valid for the country too but even If the wallet you are using reads your IP , It doesn't mean anything as Bitcoin users care about their privacy and most likely using the wallet through ToR or a VPN.

Now of course , exchanges gather information's such as Birthdate , name and that kind of stuff but the users who provide real info are a minority so It's impossible to get an accurate number.
yes agree with you that it is impossible to get the valid data regarding OP questions indeed some exchange obligate to the users to provide their personal informations as a primary requirement if they want to use service from those exchange but i don't think the exchange will provide those information to the public because it is confidential

There aren't that many older bitcoiners around right now, because it is still quite technical.

Personally I think this will change in the future, as bitcoin gets more and more user friendly.

Right now, probably 20-40 year olds are the ones using it. Most heard of it at around 2013, aka the price hike.
That is what usually peaks someone's interest. The smell of anything to do with money (in this case something that can be converted into it) allures the ones who are trying to get some more because they don't have much of it or they don't have any.

First of all, you have to be aware that despite numerous studies that were conducted about this topic, results are still unclear and may not be correct.
Because elusive nature of bitcoin you can't really estimate who is using/owning coins, you can't track or keep index of bitcoin users, not to mention learn who they are IRL.

Some articles: https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-user-demographics-european-males-age-25-34/

http://www.coindesk.com/four-types-bitcoin-users/ This text is not exactly about bitcoin demographic, but it is interesting nonetheless.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-03-10/demographics-bitcoin - this is the most viable source I found up to date.

Impossible to know exactly, we can only speculate about it.

- age: in the 20's house.
- profession: unemployed
- country: Phillipines, India, Indonesia and arabian countries.  Grin

I think it's the most common profile of Bitcoin enthusiasts, at least that is what I see on the internet.
What do you think?

Most bitcoin users like myself wouldn't really like to give up this kind of information.  However, I remember that Coindesk published something like this a while back.
