After 21 years of absence, Lens finally returned to the Champions League this season. And Lens were one of the most consistent teams throughout last season and in 37 league games, they managed to record 24 wins and just four defeats.
Lens is not the favorite team in group B, but Lens is worth watching because it has a strong defense and effective attack. And when compared with PSV, maybe Lens is better, but not Arsenal and Sevilla because these two teams have a lot of experience in the Champions League even though they haven't won it.
Lens' performance last season was very good. but almost the same as Sevilla, this season Lens started very badly in Ligue 1. 4 matches without a win and only 1 draw.
The Champions League group phase will start soon, not only Lens but maybe Sevilla also have to improve their performance to compete for a ticket to the next phase.
if Lens can beat Sevilla and PSV who have performed quite well in the Eredivisie this season. there is a chance for 1 ticket to pass. Because Arsenal might be the favorite in this group. and 3 other teams had to fight hard.
Indeed, so far there is almost no difference between Lens and Sevilla because they are both equally bad in the domestic league and I agree that Lens must try as hard as possible if they want to qualify by beating Sevilla and PSV. We know that even though Lens are almost equal to that club, with the current situation they are an underrated team and maybe we will see different results from Lens in this champions league. Arsenal are indeed untouchable as group winners but Mikel Arteta cannot be careless because after all his 3 opponents in this group had good achievements last season.

I also believe that Newcastle can't be a title contender. That is too much for them now. They don't have a qualified squad to make it there. I remember how Chelsea managed to win the Champions League title with Tuchel although their squad quality was worse than teams like Real Madrid, Manchester City.

However Newcastle's squad quality isn't as good as Chelsea's firstly. Secondly they don't have as much experience as Chelsea in this tournament. They aren't as big as them in short. They don't have a mentality that is as strong as Tuchel's Chelsea either now.

Considering all of this the biggest achievement they can get is to qualify for next round in my opinion.
UEFA Champions League is here and there's quite numbers of elite clubs that have good chances of winning it. I've my won favorites, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Other clubs would only compete but they will not be able to match the level up energy with these clubs mentioned. We can't compared the situation of Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel, he has solid plans for the club. We shouldn't be having this conversation about Newcastle United winning the UEFA Champions League, it's an impossible mission. We know the competitive teams that would push harder for the league.

I don't think one of the goals for Newcastle this year is the UCL championship. They will want to go to the best place they can this year. Bayern and City are really the favorite teams. Real Madrid, on the other hand, may have problems in the UCL due to the problem of missing players in the forward area. Their chances are slimmer than the two teams with Harry Kane and Haaland. It will definitely be an exciting season, we will wait and watch the winner together.

I agree with what you say, that Newcastle certainly will not have a tough goal of becoming UCL champions this season. Just by entering the UCL zone, they are already grateful. But I don't think they will stop in the group phase, really looking forward to the surprise in group F.

I see Real Madrid lacking in the front line this season. But for some reason, if you play in the UCL, Real Madrid has stronger DNA.

As per my prediction I will place these three clubs ahead of the three clubs you have mentioned. Manchester City's opponent in the Champions League final last season was Inter Milan but that is unlikely to happen this season. Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid are the three favorites to win the Champions League title this season. Apart from these teams, the clubs that can be tough opponents include Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Manchester United. Other teams including PSG may be big names but they won't do well in the Champions League. If Real Madrid had a quality finisher, I would put Real Madrid first in the Champions League.

With Newcastle United, if they can go to a first knock out phase, it is a great success for them. Even before the group drawing results are out, I don't believe Newcastle United have ever dreamed more than a first knock out phase. They have to consider this first season in Champions League as a great chance to have real lessons and experience in Champions League.

With the group they fell in, they will face with biggest clubs and it is chance they won't have from friendly matches. Even they can set up friendly matches with those big clubs, they are different than real matches in Champions League.

The New castle was in the bottom of their group, they need to improve the team match against the Milan on September 19.Both of Milan and Newcastle was in third and fourth places. If this two had improve the game. They can competition the other two team PSG and Dortmund. The PSG was the Strong team in the group of Newcastle.Newcastle need to improve their game and So only they can beat the PSG in the October match. The supporters Newcastle still had the hope in Newcastle and they will replace the PSG from the group.
Newcastle United is considered as a weakest team in the group but they don't have like zero chance. First two matches will be important for Newcastle United as if they get bad results like two defeats, they will almost lose in this group race. If they get good results in first two matches, they will have good foundation and confidence to fight for two top positions.

In fact all other three clubs in this group are not perfect so Newcastle United still have chance to create surprise.

Newcastle are quite underrated but that is quite balanced with the results they have gotten so far in the EPL. Usually the performance of each team will always be reflected in its local competition and that is why previous expectations for Newcastle as one of the newcomers have disappeared for this season's Champions League. But there is also a team that is not very good in local competitions but is able to perform well in other competitions and I hope Newcastle is able to do that when they face strong opponents later.
Newcastle could have given a better surprise in the Champions League even though they are very aware of being new entrants to the Champions League this season. However, considering that the opponents in Group F are quite tough opponents, it is natural that many people doubt Newcastle as a newcomer to the Champions League. Moreover, in the near future Newcastle will have to face AC Milan at the San Siro where AC Milan is currently in quite good condition.
My prediction is that Ac Milan will come out as runners up or even group winners. Especially with the depth of their squad and their game starting to get better in the first three Serie A matches. The key will be in the derby against Inter Milan this week, if Ac Milan can win, their confidence will increase and they will easily overcome obstacles.

Because I believe that AC Milan in the Pioli era, if it is on fire, will be difficult to fall, especially since the squad is quite deep, which is different from recent seasons. Milan already have provisions because you could say they are the only ones who have not been inconsistent so far. Newcastle has problems with squad depth when opponents Liverpool are very visible, PSG is still inconsistent plus the locker room is still hot and not yet stable. Dortmund lost Jude Bellingham in their game scheme and it had a big impact on the team. There is a moment that I am most looking forward to. Group F is a group with a reunion theme.

1. Sandro Tonali and Gianluigi Donnarumma will return to the San Siro, of course with a different welcome.
2. Christian Pulisic will return home to Signal Iduna Park, the place where it all started.

The performance from Newcastle United has not been very good so far in the English Premier League. But probably they will be able to perform better in the Champions League. In the English Premier League, they have got one win in the last four matches. These are actually the only four matches that have been played so far by them in this season. So it is still early days for them. They have one win and three losses. They probably could have done better in the matches that they have lost so far. But it is the start of the season and probably they will be able to perform more consistently later in the season.

But I don’t think we can judge their performance in the Champions League based on the performance that they have shown in the English Premier League.

Do you have a strong reason why you say Newcastle cannot be a competitor?
I dont know if you have ever been disappointed fan but all I can know at the moment that Newcastle have more stable performance and in terms of performance the players currently managed by Eddie howe have a very good partnership and you must always remember that there always the surprise in every match are very unconvincing, but most newcastle supporters still believe that Newcastle will be a strong competitor.
I am not Newcastle fan but I am just saying the fact that if it not good to jump to conclusion too quickly even luck comes by surprise.

All this is logical, but if you look at history, it is no less logical that once every 20 years something unusual happens, like Leicester’s championship (in the Premier League) or Porto’s victory in the Champions League. Exactly 20 years have passed since this event and who knows, maybe it’s time for another “miracle” to come true. If the draw is the same as last year (in one part there are favorites and in the other outsiders) then the chance of some underdog to take the title will increase.
Well, let's keep our fingers crossed and see the club that would serve as a medium for the miracle you  said to occur, we might suprisingly see Newcastle United that's been underperforming in the EPL win the Champions League  trophy lol, UEFA Champions League is not a competition you could easily predict the winner from the beginning but there are some clubs im looking out for andc they're good performance has been consistente for the past two seasons.
Clubs like Realmadrid, City, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Intermilan, i have a feeling that one of these clubs might end up winning the league this season but im not sure of which but amongst all these clubs mentioned my two most favourites are Realmadrid or Manchester City and if you notice the performance of those clubs in the various league and so brilliant so far that's why my expectations from them in the UEFA Champions League is high.

There's no favourite club to win this group. Almost all of those teams are powerful enough to win the group. Although Newcastle's performance was disappointing, there is always the possibility that they could follow in the footsteps of Chelsea and turn things around.
Struggled at the domestic league, but it was able showing great performance in UCL. PSG was not so strong at this moment. PSG may face difficulty in beating its competitor.
This is not newcastle's first season in UCL. Around a decade ago was the last time Newcastle participated in the UCL, which feels like a distant memory. Everything changes now.
Newcastle has a good team that needs to get more chemistry. Im aware if newcastle struggle in english premier league but moyes needs to put all of his focus into the UCL now.
If there is favorite in winning the trophies, many of our clubs favorite will now have one of the most trophies, even while they are still knockout, we still shift the support to another club and they still get eliminated. Who would have thought Napoli and Inter will really move this fast last season. Inter was even better to get to the final and battle with Manchester City till their last pressure dropped and conceded a goal that made them loss in the final else I'm confidence that those guys will frustrate Manchester City to the penalty. Newcastle or their group is not different right now, anyone can disqualify or make it out of the group stage.
Wasn't Barcelona the top of Laliga last season but they got kick out of the Champions League, they went to Europa to play kcockout and was again kicked out from there and that humiliation is something Xavi will not like to see again. So expect the expected and any team that are in the group need to do their best, not a do or die league.
In the Champions League, all the big teams from various leagues will show each other the toughness they have in facing their opponents. For us as fans of one of the teams competing in the Champions League this season, we definitely want to see the team we support make it to the final this season. However, in every match there is always a surprise that occurs at the end of the match they play so that many things happen that are beyond our expectations. Therefore, every fan probably has several teams that they are favorites to reach the final this season. Yes, the competition will first be presented in the group phase because to qualify for the last 16 of course, hard work is needed in every match. The most difficult group in the Champions League this season is group F, of course there are several strong teams in this group, two of them must be eliminated early, but we cannot yet say who will be eliminated faster in group F.

This clearly does not want to happen again because after all this is like an insult to Barcelona and even Xavi himself because he is one of the coaches who cannot lift Barcelona who always qualify in the group phase even it happened 2 times in a row.
Now that he has a good squad, Barcelona's financial condition has also begun to stabilise especially now that they are in a group that is quite easy for Barcelona so it will be very bad and further tarnish the gold ink that Barcelona has done before if this season they fail again in the group phase.

Now the big expectation is clearly there at least to qualify from the group phase but in this case even though they are in a group that is fairly easy does not mean they can relax because precisely with this they must show that their dominance is still very large.

Newcastle cant be a contender man... stop dreaming, they are only a good team, nothing more, if they reach quarter or even semifinals they are done for this season and they are gonna celeb rate so much for that.

I think they still miss some important or star player to be a real contender.
Even that would be a great achievement because it's been long they qualified for a competition this big so we don't expect much to be done by them because the champions Is not a easy place at all no doubt that they are a good team but i don't see them going that far. We can take for example the time Leicester city qualified for this competition Although they were champions of England but yet couldn't do anything to pass the group stage.

Whoever makes it out of this group into the knockout phase is arguably a good team. I don't mean through luck, because with the strength of the 4 teams that will meet each other, it will certainly be difficult for them to beat each other and it could be that at the end there will be a calculation of goal productivity to determine which team qualifies for the next round.
True, Newcastle are relatively new to being a big contender in the Champions League, but we have seen the significant development they have shown in recent seasons, especially in the last season where they can compete convincingly in the top 4.
Yes, that was last season, but the beginning of this championship showed that not everything was all right with them. Perhaps these opening defeats will be a cold shower for Newcastle and they will be able to improve their performance further, because at the moment they do not look as good as they did before. Their group is also very difficult, RSG, Dortmund and Milan, each of these teams can qualify for the playoffs, let's see if Newcastle can be a worthy competitor for them.
Newcastle definitely looks like one of those teams that would not be easy to beat them normally and they may have some sort of situation going around right now but I honestly believe that with the type of money the owner has, if the owner decides to spend a lot of money on the club, they could be the new City as well. They could spend as high as a billion dollars and nothing would happen to the owner, they would be able to do that and they would not be even spending 1% of their money to do that.

This is why I believe that Newcastle will get better and better, they may have started not that great so far but I believe that it is going to happen and we are going to see them do a lot better in the near future for sure.
Newcastle was unfortunate to find themselves in a very difficult group that's been tagged "the group of death" in their first season in the competition after almost 20 years that they last played in the European Cup.
Though many have written them off from progressing to the next round of the competition which is the knockout stages but I think they still got a chance to progress despite how  difficult their group looks like. Paris Saint Germaine I think will surely progress to the next and that's because of the quality of players in their squad. AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund aren't too bigger than Newcastle.

I share in your own reasoning too because Newcastle as club is not looking like one that wants to settle for just mid table finish but they want to compete with everything they have. Last season they showed what kind of a team they are and also the rebuilding taking place. If we look at the kind of players they attract this days you will certainly know that they have the ability to spend big. They are not just splashing money on just any player but they are buying players with real potential example is Isak who to is the second best center forward after Halaand,  also is the Italian Prospect Tonali who has just joined them. This two and other shows they are not just building a team for this year’s champions league alone but a team that would compete for years to come for the champions league spot.

Their start to the new season has actually been poor with them winning just one game alone, and lost three now after losing just five last season. I would blame this poor start to the lack of cohesion in midfield. The midfield trio of Tonali, Guimeres and Jeolinghton have not blended well and this is because of the fact that the three play similar pattern of football and that is to recover the ball. They cannot connect well with their striker although that is the role meant for Tonali but this is the new team he is coming into and needs time to settle. Also I blame the coaches substitutions most at times like the game against Liverpool where they held the whole points in their hands and he made some changes that affected the game. If Newcastle continues growing this way then they could be in for a change of manager to a high profile one later

In the game against Getafe, Ronald Araújogot was injured and his player was out for weeks due to the hamstring injury he had. now this palyer is getting ready also there is a chance for him to play in the next game for Barcelona against Royal Antwerp however this palyer is not recorded yet.
I don't think if Xavi will take a risk and use Araújogot in the game against Royal Antwerp.

Milan are in a bad situation at the moment, but not so bad that NewCastle will take their toll on them
last year they had the most expensive team in the Serie A championship if you added the market value of all the players, so perhaps with a very strong team: Real Madrid, Manchester, lose. With the weaker teams the result is obvious, just look at the bookmakers rates
What is going on with Milan and then you say the current situation is bad for Milan?
Isn't the team doing well with no major injuries? In addition, they will also play tomorrow with Inter, which means Milan's preparation is still quite ripe for that.

Is it because Tonali moved to Newcastle that makes the team that you say is expensive now decline, I think this has nothing to do with it, Milan's performance is now quite good and I don't doubt it especially playing at home.

I see the betting market about this team competing is in the range of odds 2.23 and 2.85

Actually I think they are underrated because people believe them being in the competition for the first time after a long stay in the English Premier League and wirh the level of the players they have got they won't be well experienced and they won't be able to withstand the other teams in their group. Away from lack of experience being one of the reasons why they are being underrated I think their performance lately since the beginning have made  a lot of their to doubt their quality because if they can't win their matches in the league probably they are not fit to be in the champions league which will be very difficult starting from the grip stages.

I believe this, too. If they had a better first four games, the overall opinion would be different. But I think the first four games have also provided some important information about their shape at the moment. These games were mostly against opponents that I would say belong to the top third or certainly top half of the Premier League. Losing against Manchester City is one thing, but also losing this game against Liverpool the way they lost it might have decreased public confidence in their upcoming Champions League performances. And frankly, I see it like that, too. Losing against all these stronger opponents means that they have not yet found the right means to win those games. There can still be done something about it, but the Champions League is quite similar to what they have had during their first four games in the Premier League now. Playing against PSG, AC Milan and Dortmund is difficult. I would say it would probably be easier if they played against Manchester City and then two mediocre or weaker teams. This group is like having a final in every single round of the group stage.

You probably mean Group B. Because Arsenal are not in Group F. Group F teams are PSG, Dortmund, Newcastle and AC Milan. And Group F is the toughest group in this year's Champions League. Every team has a chance to qualify for the knockout rounds.

If we talk about Group B, there is no way to say that other teams in this group are weak except Arsenal and PSV. Sevilla and Lens are strong enough teams. However, the recent performance of these two teams is very bad. This is why PSV and Arsenal are expected to top the table. And these two teams will qualify for the next round. Sevilla and Lens are strong enough. If they can sort out the problems within the squad, it will not be easy for PSV to qualify for the next round.
No, I mean apart from group F, there is no other group that is heavier than that, including group B.
You are right that Sevilla and Lens are teams that cannot be underestimated even if they are not favorites to qualify. PSV and Arsenal also haven't proven anything to us that they can beat their competitors in the group without any problems, however, the performance of the two teams in their respective leagues might be used as a benchmark for analyzing opportunities.

In group B the favorites are Arsenal and PSV, but as I said, Sevilla and Lens also have the opportunity to win points in every match that will await them in the group stage. We can only speculate, but it all depends on the performance of each team.

Regarding Arsenal in group B of this tournament, they gave the list of players they want to this tournament but the sad thing for Arsenal in this Champions League is they can't use they player, Jurrien Timber, while this player joined Arsenal for 40m from Ajax but this Dutch player is injured hardly and they didn't add his name for this Champions League. There is even the chance for him to lose the whole season.

Arsenal are going to be one of the teams that will contend for the Champions league tittle this season, they have already selected their list of players who will participate in the competition, and with the list,I can say that Arsenal have a very strong squad to compete with any team in the champions league this season. However,Jurien Timber's inclusion in this squad means that he Will not be out for the whole of the season,by October,I believe he will start doing some ball work to make him fit for the remainder of the season.
Two teams in England that I see that they will cross their group stage is Mancity and Arsenal, while Newcastle and Manchester United have not shown that they are ready to qualify from the group stage with their last three matches.

Arsenal has a much better team then last season and after not winning the premier league last season they will try and go far in this one in epl and champions league. Still Arsenal didnt play champions league for a long time so i think this will have an impact on their gameplay and i think i cannot count them as one of the favorites for the title but can reach at least the quarters this season.
