Guardiola makes the pivotal role for Kevin De Bruyne to play in Manchester City's setup. His absence due to injury undoubtedly had a significant impact on the team's performance, because he is a crucial component of Guardiola's tactical plans. The stress on Erling Haaland's bones adds another layer of complexity to Manchester City's situation. His absence due to injury further compounds the challenges for Guardiola in terms of squad rotation, tactics, and goal-scoring options.
Kevin De Bruyne is actually an important player that worth good care in any team across Europe; not just in Manchester City but in any big team in the world. De Bruyne has made name due to his quality as a creative midfielder that has helped Manchester City to become a great team in the world.
Missing such an important player in a team will actually stress the team because they relied on him for long and he has been helping the team in different aspect, that’s why the team actually misses him so much.

Quote
Having key players returning from injury can significantly bolster a team's performance and increase their chances of overcoming challenges. We need to consider the broader context of squad dynamics, especially when injuries impact multiple key players simultaneously. Managing a team through such situations is a complex task, and Guardiola's ability to adapt and navigate these challenges is part of the coaching role.
Yes, if all Manchester City players are available to play the remaining part of this competition, it will be a boost for them and will increase their chance of winning the Champions League because they are capable of winning it if their players are all fit .

Manchester City Yeah, but that have dropped how they play, I will se e how quickly they pick up with the arrival of Jeremy Doku Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.
What they did last season can't be done and repeated, they lack capacity and creativity. Players who did magic in absence of Kevin De Bruyne are no more. Blames on Pep Guardiola for not replacing the player's with the right players.

Stepping into the false nine role for Real Madrid had a huge impact on the goals he has scored for them. The defenders are not giving enough thanks for what they have done so far having the least goals conceded.
I don't think it's right to blame Pep Guardiola for what Manchester City has experienced this season because there have been a few failures experienced by Manchester City due to the absence of Kevin De Bruyne in their squad for some time. And now Kevin De Bruyne has recovered so he can return to playing with his squad even though Manchester City currently still has two other players who are still injured and one of them who is often relied on is Erling Haaland who is still experiencing stress on his bones.
Kevin De Bruyne was finally able to return to the field after a long break due to the hamstring injury he suffered. I don't think we can completely blame Pep Guardiola for De Bruyne injury because we know that De Bruyne is no longer young and in fact Manchester City already has to look for a replacement who is right in midfield to replace De Bruyne, so far De Bruyne role in Manchester is quite vital and if we compare it to a body then De Bruyne is the life of that body, so we know how important De Bruyne is in Manchester City now, but Pep Guardiola deserves I'm grateful that now De Bruyne has returned to training and reportedly De Bruyne will try to play when Manchester City faces Newcastle in the English League, De Bruyne return to the team will make Manchester City even more ready to face Copenhagen in February and I don't even think so just De Bruyne will be ready for the 16 in the Champions League, but reportedly Haalaand has also made good progress in recovering from his injury, so it could be said that Manchester City will come to the 16 round  with a complete squad and could become favorites to the winner champions league  again.

Without a doubt, the Champions League is a mess of unknowns. There is a chance that teams like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could win, but it's not a sure thing. Don't forget about Inter Milan; they've been playing great lately. They came in second place last year and look strong again this year. They will need to do well in the round of 16, especially if they play Atletico Madrid. Inter Milan beating Atletico makes it even more clear that anyone can win the Champions League. And let's be honest: losers often pull off the biggest surprises. While the favorites are still the favorites, the exciting part is that a "dark horse" could come out of nowhere

The winner is not yet certain, but we can guess which teams will go to the semi-finals or final we can see it from season to season they are always the ones who dominate, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are of course the main candidates especially Bayern Munich, which now has great players and is active in scoring goals. Teams from the premier league may also take part there such as Manchester City and Arsenal, but for some reason this season I think the team from the Bundesliga will be the winner.

Currently, we have some teams in good form like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, and that's why I think with the current situation from all teams in the Champions League, these teams got more chance to win the title than all the other teams, Manchester City won the tournament in the last season and they had a coach like Guardiola in their teams but that's not ag good reason to as they can have more chance because in the recent games we saw from this team, they had disappointing performance compared to their performance we saw in the last season.
I agree that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich the main candidate to win the Champions League trophy but never ignore Manchester City because currently Manchester City is ready to compete with anyone after their mainstay player Kevin de Bruyne has recovered from injury. How bad Manchester City played in the previous match could not be used as a reference because the match was without Kevin de Bruyne, I think these 3 teams will go to the semifinals and we still need one more team, who is more appropriate to be there?
No one can currently ignore any team for the win with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich having edge, but all others are also at their best and having spot into round of 16 after winning their matches into group stage which is never been easy for any team most of the peoples are talking about just Real Madrid and Bayern Munich due to their strength and consistency, but this is never been guaranteed for the win here in this event with any underdog can also go through for the win.

Even I also agreed if these both not faced each other in quarterfinal or semifinal then surely having good chance for the last two, but few other teams are also able to do this while they are also consistent and good with we can't give them statement of strongest, but these are underdogs and capable of writing history with their performance in this season.
Without a doubt, the Champions League is a mess of unknowns. There is a chance that teams like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could win, but it's not a sure thing. The Champions League is always unpredictable. It is difficult to say which team will be the champion. No wonder an underdog team wins. A few years ago the Chelsea team won the Champions League title. No one imagines that a mediocre team like Chelsea will win the Champions League title. This season, Madrid, City, Bayern Munich are naturally favorites. However, there is no surprise if any team wins the title outside of these teams. Each group has strengths as well as several weaknesses.
That's the picture in this competition and maybe we would also be happy if there was a surprising team that could win the Champions League title this season. We also know which strong teams always dominate or become champion candidates every season, but the fact is that sometimes these strong teams can't do anything if mediocre teams start to know how to stop them. Intensity and hard training are needed to be able to compete in this competition and if they don't have a winning mentality then it will be easier for them to be eliminated.

I am curious about Atletico because this team has repeatedly lost, whether in the semifinals or in the final, which means they failed to win the Champions League title. On the other hand, Arsenal is also a mediocre team in this competition but they currently have a good squad so I'm starting to wonder whether they can advance to the final round or not, especially as they are one of the big teams from England who have never won a title. champions league for the first time.

It is very hard for a mediocre team or a team with no drive and passion to win the Uefa Champions League. Let me tell you this, Chelsea were no mediocre team the season they won the title. When was the last time a mediocre team won this title? No team is mediocre if they win this title.

First of all, the favorites this time are Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City for sure. As for others, I think Arsenal, Dortmund & PSG probably have a chance. Arsenal although was looking very good since the start of the season but now they are looking kind of shaky. PSG and Dortmund always choked when it mattered the most. That is why I said, a team needs not only to be good, but it also got to have that drive and passion to push them forward. PSG always had a good team but I did not sense the passion from them. They always lagged behind. I don't see any chance for Atletico Madrid this season, to be honest. They might even get eliminated in the Round of 16 against Inter Milan.

Obviously, Manchester City and Pep Guardiola did better last season than this season and they had a better squad depth last season. They had the quality players and they were all available throughout the season. But this season they already lost Mahrez and Gundegon to the transfer window. This left them with no options to continue with the available players and surprisingly KDB has been injured for the majority of the season. This was a very big blow for Manchester City and happily they are still in the top 4 of the English premier League even till today and with the news of the return of Kelvin, it is a very big win for Manchester City.

However, I would still advice Pep Guardiola to gradually re integrate Kelvin into the team. He shouldn't rush him, otherwise if Kelvin is injured again, it might be the end of his career because he is no longer a young player. Since Doku and others will be available, he should try to be playing them indifferent positions in order to be able to do what Ancelotti did not to feel the effects of his key players even when they are not available.

But PSG is qualified for the next round and they are playing against Real Sociedad. What is the point in selling Mbappe now when PSG has the only goal to finally win the Champions League. If they decided to sell him now, everything they did to convince him to extend his contract some time ago, it would have made any sense at all. That is why I was confused to see people here express their opinion that Mbappe could leave PSG in winter. No, he won't leave PSG and he will give this a last shot to win the Champions League trophy and then in summer he will leave the club.

No point in selling him and PSG never stated that if the club was interesting to put him for sale. The club has been approaching mbappe many times to make him accept the new contract to extend his contract for another year. Mbappe has become the only goal machine for PSG.
Having him in the club surely making anrique's job to be much easier than before. Mbappe had stated if he would be leaving from the club after european competiion which meant after PSG would be confirmed unable to go to the next stage.

Mbappe is going to leave after he was failed in UCL with PSG. So, he has a reason to leave from the club to play in a better club that can give him more guarantee to win the trophy.
Im starting to dream when mbappe will join in real madrid and it can become another disaster for other club. This rumor has been exist since last years but no further update regarding a movement from real madrid to get him.

Right and my response was mostly concerned with the idea that Mbappe could leave the club during the winter transfer window, but that is nonsense as the sheikh would never let him go after paying him hundreds of millions to stay longer at PSG. There would be no logic behind such a decision.

I rather expect the sheikh to open up his wallet one more time before the season ends and show Mbappe a big bag of money and ask him whether he can imagine to stay for another two years. But they raised the tolerance themselves and Mbappe would not agree to maybe 100 million cash on his hand or something like that as it is already said that Real Madrid is offering 130 million for his signature only.

To match Zidane record, the opportunity is quite open, but to make it happen requires great luck, because Zidane done it consecutively. I admit that Ancelotti is a great manager, he has experience coaching in various leagues with big clubs, I am sure that during this second period, Ancelotti can present at least one UCL trophy for Madrid.

Apart from that, what makes Ancelotti have a great opportunity to continue to dominate Europe is the support of squad depth, thanks to the club stable finances Los Blancos can buy quality players, and what is great is that Perez really emphasizes that the transition of players in Madrid core squad is going well.

Keeping Ancelotti until 2026 is a wise deal, if there are no dismissals or resignations, Ancelotti can win many trophies for Madrid during his time in charge. But let see this season first, to what extent Ancelotti cold hands work, and how many trophies he can bring to the club.
Expecting Ancelotti to be able to match Zidane's record at Real Madrid is not a good thing, but he has the opportunity to perform optimally during his tenure until 2026. Ancelotti is a good and experienced coach, so I am sure he will be able to create a tough game. compete in every competition and win the title.

Last season Ancelotti failed in La Liga and also the Champions League, so this season his job will definitely not be easy. They still have a chance to win the title because so far Real Madrid is ahead in La Liga and has also qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League. Madrid don't have many obstacles to win the game, but sometimes they really need luck with late goals.

You cannot really ignore Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Both of them have been a good team to be scared of. No matter how strong you are, you always need to be scared of Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Real Madrid this season has been very well, very consistent and Bellingham is doing more than what he was expected. In my eyes, Real Madrid are the favorites to win the Champions League this season.

Bayern Munich is also on a very good run this season. Harry Kane is the top scorer in the whole of Europe this season. So they will be a very tough challenge for any team. PSG and Dortmund could probably become a problem for Manchester City as well.
These two teams are still quite favorites and this season will be a little different because a number of clubs will try to prepare many things to achieve success. Real Madrid has a different experience when playing in the Champions League and therefore the team that will face it must be quite careful. Real Madrid has always been a favorite in the Champions League even though it sometimes fails to go further and if you look at the number of trophies it has won, it is appropriate that other clubs are wary of it.

If you look at Bayern Munich, maybe it's like what you mentioned because currently they have quite a dangerous striker. Harry Kane's ability to score goals is truly extraordinary and this needs to be a concern for the opposing defense. Whether it's Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester City then there are a number of other teams that could possibly surprise us this season.

Ancelloti just extended his contract with the Spanish side. Real Madrid with Ancelloti is one team that have been in their perfect form this season. They know what they're after and they know how to get it. Without mincing, Ancelloti is the best coach so far. The fact that he's kept up with games even winning without a striker. His players versatility and coordination, the team spirit.
He's put his squad in check and has made them a better side at every encounter.

I don't think anyone expects less from them and definitely beyond all doubt, they've not disappointed any one. The level of confidence we have in them is enough sign to prove that they're currently the best team. Injuries or not, they just have a way to turn the game to their advantage and favour and their ability to be consistent at the wins is actually intriguing. Definitely even if their opponent for the round of 16 may put up a competition, there's still this confidence that they'd subdue Leipzig and advance to the quarter finals and even win the tournament.

It is really interesting that some sources said Ancelotti already agreed on a deal with Brazil to sign it officially on next summer. But now we have got this news related to a contract extension between him and Real Madrid.  Smiley

But to tell the truth I'm satisfied with hearing about it. Because Real Madrid and Ancelotti have a really great coherence. He is a manager who won the La Liga and Champions League titles at the same time with Real Madrid. He has a really special place at Real Madrid for sure. Why would they want to let him go so early?

But I wonder one thing the most about him. I wonder whether Ancelotti would be able to share Zidane's record of winning the Champions League title 3 times in a row at least.  Smiley

If De Bruyne and Haaland are able to continue their excellent performances like last season, then Manchester City will surely win the Champions League title this season as well. Also Bayern Munich team is very strong this season. The Munich management have built their squad this season with the aim of winning the Champions League title and the squad is very strong. Kane is also able to score a lot of goals. On the other hand, the performance of Real Madrid with the help of Ancelotti is very consistent. Looking forward to seeing how Madrid fare against the strong teams in the knockout rounds with their weak attack.

No ETA when those guys will be back again to the field caused by de bruyne needs to pass various test before he will able to play with manchester city again. Im not being skeptical about him but bruyne may able to play again next year.
We hope de bruyne and haaland can comeback as soon as possible but let's see how fast the development of their injury. Im not expecting they can back in a short time. Manchester city is going to be a disaster for other clubs if there will be haaland and de bruyne to play.
It's caused by they were always threatening any teams. I would like to see those guys to come back but i know that's impossible to happen. Manchester city can at very least still win the game and it's enough to keep up liverpool which is in the first position.
The come of haaland and bruyne will able to change a lot of things. They are keys owned by manchester city.

I'm quite confused about what you mean, but maybe I should start to understand it. OK, if I talk about Manchester City, I agree that it was surprising for them to win the Champions League last season against Inter because they also managed to send Real Madrid home in the semifinals which was the main obstacle to winning the title they dream of. On the other hand, after beating Real Madrid, it is clear that Manchester City has no burden because Inter is not a very scary opponent for them so the chance is clear that they will win this competition for the first time.

Neither PSV nor Porto are surprising teams but if they can win the Champions League title again this season it would certainly be a very surprising thing. What I mean here is a team that has never won the Champions League trophy and that's why I mentioned Altletico and Arsenal in the previous post. Have you understood up to this point?

No, I meant it the other way around! Smiley

Nobody was really surprised that Manchester City won the Champions League, but lots of people were surprised about Inter Milan resisting the pressure in the final. I was quite impressed because I thought that Manchester CIty would probably win the game 3-0 or maybe 3-1. But this one decisive goal was deflected and that game could have easily gone into overtime. Inter Milan had chances to win it because they were as good as Manchester City.

I think that Inter Milan has a real chance to win the trophy this season and for me it would not be surprising at all because they are in outstanding shape!

Im excited about MC's CL possibilities with De Bruyne and Haaland. If they keep up their stellar form from last season, MC's chances are great. Im skeptical of KDB's injury recovery. Players take time to recover, and a three-month delay is substantial. That might disrupt Mc's steady run.

However, Bayern Munich is strong this season. Their team is strong, and they want the CL crown. Lets not forget Real Madrid. Despite their lackluster offensive, Ancelotti has kept them in terrific form.
Manchester City without doubt is one of the strongest favorites to win the UEFA champions league competition this season as they're one of the two clubs to have won all their matches in the group stage of the competition but unlike last season that they defeated almost everyone enroute to win club football's biggest trophy, I think they'll be resisted this time if they should meet either of Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in any of the knockout stages.

Real Madrid with the arrival of Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchoumeni and few others have been more solid than they were last season and if you ask me, I think they're a stronger team this season than Manchester City as a club and that's why I'm backing them to at least reach the final of the competition.

On the other hand, Arsenal is also a mediocre team in this competition but they currently have a good squad so I'm starting to wonder whether they can advance to the final round or not, especially as they are one of the big teams from England who have never won a title. champions league for the first time.

But what would you deem to be a surprise? If we look at Inter Milan and how they played in the final against Manchester City last season, I would not call it a surprise if they win the title this season. They are also playing an extraordinary season in Serie A. But at the same time they would be a winner we haven't seen in almost 15 years now. So it is kind of a surprise, but not really because everyone knows how strong they are.

What do you mean when you say surprising team? Like Eindhoven or Porto?

Transfers to be made in January transfer window could be effective enough to change the fate of the Champions League winner maybe. I can't imagine what would happen in case of seeing Real Madrid's signing a deal with Mbappe. However even if this happens he wouldn't join the team right away of course. They would need to wait for him until the end of the season unless they buy his clause to bring him immediately.

However truthfully I don't expect Real Madrid to sign him in January because probably he would like to wait for the end of the season to make his decision on his future.  Smiley  I expect PSG to be eliminated early again which would make things really difficult for convincing Mbappe to stay.

I don't think that transfers in January have ever been of such a significant importance that they helped a team win the Champions League. If that was the case, I wonder what type of player you are talking about. Of course, if Real Madrid would sign Mbappe in January and he would score several goals in the final round of the Champions League, then it would perhaps be true, but since that won't happen, I doubt that any transfer in January would literally be responsible for the Champions League trophy at the end of the season.

I would agree only about the transfer of Kylian Mbappe from PSG to Real Madrid to be a game changer for the club in all competitions including Champions League. Real Madrid need more firepower in the attack line to help Bellingham scoring more and more goals to guarantee winning most of the game.
Until yesterday I had some hope that the player might join Real Madrid in this winter transfer window but from what I heard today, it appears to be quite difficult to happen with PSG willing to offer him a new and better contract!
In the other available options, I find it hard for a team to acquire other talented player that could help them win the title. Even signing a couple of players will not be possible for most of the teams in my opinion apart from Manchester United which might try to improve its squad but it is already too late.

If De Bruyne and Haaland are able to continue their excellent performances like last season, then Manchester City will surely win the Champions League title this season as well. Also Bayern Munich team is very strong this season. The Munich management have built their squad this season with the aim of winning the Champions League title and the squad is very strong. Kane is also able to score a lot of goals. On the other hand, the performance of Real Madrid with the help of Ancelotti is very consistent. Looking forward to seeing how Madrid fare against the strong teams in the knockout rounds with their weak attack.
