When it comes to Newcastle there is a big potential in them to finish their group stage even as leader. Because we must have all watched how they demolished PSG not much time ago.  Grin  Despite Milan's high dominance in San Siro Newcastle managed to resist them and get that one point also.

Truthfully I think the matches against Dortmund will also go really well for Newcastle. I think they can get at least 4 points.

I think Newcastle will lose only once in Group F and that will be against PSG away.  Grin
Newcastle is in a great position to accomplish this as they will face Borussia Dortmund twice in a row, if they can win their first game at home then Borussia Dortmund will be basically eliminated from the competition already and they may decide to give up completely on it on their second match, making it even easier for Newcastle to get a second win, leaving PSG and Milan with only one remaining ticket to the next round.

Having better squad depth than Sevilla will not guarantee that Arsenal will be able to beat Sevilla easily. Sevilla playing at home will certainly get direct support from their fan base and that will raise their enthusiasm to perform better to win points. Sevilla have not won a single match in the two matches they have played, so this will also be considered an opportunity.

Sevilla was a strong team in Europe even though they mostly failed to progress far into the next phase. I believe Sevilla will strengthen its defense and develop the most deadly counter-attack strategy to beat Arsenal. Of course Arsenal are favorites because of their performance, but however Sevilla is a team that can do something in their favor.
In the Champions League, every match will be difficult to predict because, like when Arsenal were beaten by Lens, of course the result was beyond many people's expectations. So the team's strength is not a strong enough benchmark to guarantee they will win the match. Moreover, each team will play quite well in the Champions League, where their game will be difficult to predict. But seeing that Arsenal lost in the previous match, of course arsenal will improve their performance better when they face Sevilla.

We will see Diego Alonso handle sevilla in his first match in the Champions League after he was appointed as sevilla coach. He has no experience in the Champions League but still Sevilla will fight well to give their new coach a win.

At home Borrussia Dortmund have just won the game tonight, now they'll recover and go prepare for war against Newcastle United. They both look good but my verdict would be passed tommorow once Newcastle is done playing.
I'm not expecting a soft tie, a rough and hard one is mandatory, it'll be shameful to see  Borrussia Dortmund leaving for Europa League.
Do you find them convincing? Borussia Dortmund won with only one goal vs Werder Bremen in a home match. If they fail to put the ball in its place most of the time then this will remain a problem for them. Newcastle United isn't Werder Bremen, it is a top team in EPL which is already a higher level competition comparing to Bundesliga.

Since Dortmund will be away, I expect them to attack vigorously. They should be the first to score a goal if they take good use of whatever chances got.
I'll be excited only of they can go top of the group, Manchester United struggling so I'll be supporting the rest of the Premier League clubs present in the Champions League.
I think Newcastle United chances aren't lower than Borussia Dortmund especially in a home game for them. Newcastle is already doing better in Champions League than Dortmund.

I think Arsenal have had a pretty impressive period in the domestic league this season. In the Champions League, Arsenal have 4 remaining matches which they can use to improve their performance. Arsenal will face Sevilla next week, where arsenal will probably be focused enough to get 3 points in order to take the top position from Lens.  But if Lens manages to secure full points against PSV, maybe arsenal will need to work hard when they meet Lens in the second leg.
Yes, Arsenal is 2nd place now. They are in the race of the competition of EPL trophy. After beating Man City at their home, I assume Arsenal players will be more confident. It can boost their morale/motivation in UCL matches. I'm sure they will target to win against Sevilla in the next match, they need 3 points to increase the chance to qualify for the next round.

I'm not worried about Arsenal performance in the Champions League because they are quite the favorites to qualify for the last 16. However, they have to fight hard if they want to qualify as group winners. Sevilla will try to break arsenal spirit in next week's match if they manage to beat arsenal. But if arsenal wins the match it could be that the competition will be more interesting in the upcoming match because arsenal and Lens will both be fighting to become group winners.
Arsenal must win in the next remaining matches in UCL. If they expect to qualify for the next round, they must defeat Sevilla first. I believe Arsenal has everything to beat Sevilla, they have a better quality of players and they are also in a good mood after winning against Man City in EPL. I really expect that Arsenal won't miss 3 points when they play against Sevilla.

Newcastle has been really good with the champions league, they have really performed well enough to be able to qualify and they are definitely going to qualify for the round of 16, they used advantage they had over PSG to secure a win and lead the the group, the game against Dortmund will be really tough for Newcastle but then even if they loose they still gat a chance play in the next round.

For me I personally think Newcastle and Dortmund are the team that will qualify in their group as they are the team with the highest points so far in their group PSG is still struggling but still have a chance with four more games to go, if they improve and try to get a win all four game they may most likely displace Newcastle to qualify for the next stage of the league, but wining Dortmund with their current form isn't looking possible, I hope they don't eventually crash out at the group stage.

I indicated my opinion about Group F even before the group stage started. I thought that Newcastle would do a really good work here. I doubted PSG's chance to even qualify for last 16 at the same time.

After the group stage started these teams also started to prove my thinking as well. Newcastle aren't a team that you can underestimate. Especially if you are still having problems on playing good and consistent as a team things are much more difficult. That was what we watched from PSG against Newcastle back then. PSG are still 2nd in the group but we will see. They have 2 tough matches in a row against Milan up next.

Arsenal's target to win the group stage but there are some strong clubs like lens and sevilla. I remember when people called that these clubs as weak clubs in this group but they forgot that if lens and sevilla did have great performance last season.
Lens is always having good history against arsenal but im still doubting sevilla at this moment. It's caused by sevilla never got excellent result against arsenal. There are still 4 match days remaining at this moment.
Arsenal can still win the group stage as long as the club is solving the problems against lens.
With Arsenal success in beating Man City in the EPL, Arteta squad should be able to sweep the remaining four matches with a win. Regarding Lens, I think Arteta squad will take revenge in the next meeting, and ensure they advance to the last 16 as Group B winners. However, if Arsenal fails to do so, I think there is something wrong with their mentality in the UCL.

On the other hand, I don't think Sevilla or PSV can make Arsenal move difficult, although the possibility still exists but I think it is very small. On paper Arsenal can qualify with Lens from group B, and Sevilla has the potential to finish in third place. I think Sevilla has the opportunity to return to the Europa League, because that is where they are considered the kings.

Of course, there is no guarantee to win against Sevilla although Arsenal has a stronger squad. However, if we learned the stats of Sevilla in UCL currently, they looked in the bad condition. So far, they never won a single match, it means they are not as strong as we expected. Although Sevilla will play at home, I'm not sure that they can steal points from Arsenal. But there should be a place for a surprise, it is not impossible if the supports from their fans to give them more motivation. If they played with big motivation, they has a chance to get a draw result at least.

Sevilla was a strong team in Europe even though they mostly failed to progress far into the next phase. I believe Sevilla will strengthen its defense and develop the most deadly counter-attack strategy to beat Arsenal.
The current Sevilla squad was no longer the same as the previous Sevilla squad. It is clearly seen in the La Liga standings, they are just a mediocre team (an average team) now. They even failed to stay in the top 10, they are only in 14th now. So, it is difficult to expect their defenders or their attackers to play as strong as when they were in their best form. According to this matter, it is very doubtful to expect them to beat Arsenal.

I make reference to current performance and form in their respective domestic Leagues this season and even last season because we all know how difficult Real Madrid is finding it to win matches back then when some of their players were injured.

Making reference to Champions League, I made it clear that Real Madrid is the most experienced team in the Champions league history, but still at that they are yet to beat Arsenal in the Champions League even though they met in some limited time.

yes I now that Arsenal are yet to win any EUROPEAN trophy but that is not related to my discussion because I am saying the fact based on history of the matches Arsenal and Real Madrid have played together.
I would guess that it is not about the group stages but more about the later on. Injuries play a big role in that, because if a team is missing an important player in the later stages that could be the decision maker for the match.

For example, City lost Kevin De Bruyne as we all know, but it is expected that he would make a comeback until later stages, but for some reason he can't, then it would be hard for them to win it this year, I would expect them to lose without a doubt. Doesn't mean that they have to lose, just means that it would be very hard for them to get the title. Same goes Real, they recently got Vini Jr. back if I am not wrong, but if they lose him again or anyone important, it would be hard for them to win as well.

Another match in group F is Newcastle vs Borussia Dortmund, this will be an interesting match to watch. Newcastle as a newcomer to the Champions League can show that they are not a club that can be underestimated, as evidenced by their first place in the standings. Borussia Dortmund, who are regulars in the Champions League, have difficulty competing in this hell group and now they are at the caretaker of the standings from the 2 matches they have played.
This match will be a match that puts Newcastle as the host, and it will be very beneficial for them. Newcastle look to be the favorites right now, but Borussia Dortmund also have the potential to cause a surprise.

I would assume that Newcastle, even if they can be considered a Newcomer because their absence of 20 years from the Champions League, would not be underestimated anymore at all since their 4-1 defeat against PSG in the last game. The bookies clearly see Newcastle as the big favorite in this game and I would agree with that. We could argue about the odds maybe, but Dortmund's chances to win the game are not that great. Newcastle is full of self-confidence and are probably eagerly looking forward to that game. If they win this game, they have essentially knocked out Dortmund from the race for the group winner and Newcastle would be in great position to ace the group. They could be fine with almost any result in the other game PSG vs. AC Milan.
Apart from that, I really appreciate the performance of the management who can bring Newcastle to this point. In the Premier League now they are one of the competitors that cannot be underestimated, as well as when it comes to the Champions League. The beginning of their rise after Newcastle had enough money to make big changes.
Well, a club that has enough money should be able to do like this, and make the best use of it. Because if they do something right with the money they have then it will bring improvement also for the performance of the club's game.

Which again brings us to the surprising fact that Newcastle never misbehaved like Chelsea in the transfer market. I remember when they had their new investor and everybody thought that Newcastle United will be turned into a new Manchester City, but even more than that because the investor is so rich. But to everyone's surprise Newcastle is very moderate given how resourceful they are. This is why began to like the club. They are very grounded and focus on development and they are successfully doing that. Chelsea is the best counter example out there of how things should not be done. But I think Newcastle is still missing a few nuances to really become a title contender in the Premier League. The same applies to their appearance in the Champions League, but i mean they are around and kicking and they have all chances until they get eliminated. See Inter Milan last year.

Indeed, on paper Arsenal are clearly superior in every way, but because this is the Champions League where the prestige and tension of each club is really at stake to minimize losses. Sevilla is quite bad in the domestic league but still playing against Arsenal is a challenge for them, playing at home is a plus while the mentality of the other Sevilla players must be proven in front of the supporters. On the other hand, the visiting Arsenal team should be able to control themselves and not be easily provoked, considering that Sevilla will try to provoke their opponent's emotions so that their focus is broken and they can control the game. For me personally, the possibility of Sevilla winning is quite difficult but there is little hope that they can win with a narrow result.
Having better squad depth than Sevilla will not guarantee that Arsenal will be able to beat Sevilla easily. Sevilla playing at home will certainly get direct support from their fan base and that will raise their enthusiasm to perform better to win points. Regardless of Sevilla's current form in both the league and in the UEFA Champions League, playing against them in an European game at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium is one of the scariest matches for any European club because Sevilla are always playing at their best whenever they're playing an European game in front of their home fans.
Arsenal I think knows truly well of the kind of task they're trying to execute and I think Mikel Arteta's men are ready for the encounter. On papers, Arsenal are the favourites to win that game but they must be at their best to take all three points from that game

Now it makes sense to say that previous matches and consistent performance in the Domestic League cannot be completely used as a benchmark, because playing in the UCL is very different. Of course everyone was shocked by Arsenal defeat to Lens, and it is evident that surprises happen more often in the UCL. Even though on paper Arsenal has a better chance than Sevilla, that doesn't mean the opposite can't happen, but if you look at the statistics, Arsenal should be superior.

Even though I'm not really sure Arsenal can get 3 points this time at come to Sevilla, I don't think they will lose that match. Sevilla has an advantage because they act as hosts, then they have to create their own luck while hoping that Arsenal doesn't play well so they can take advantage of it, because whether they admit it or not, Arsenal is still better than Sevilla.

Was there a team in the last Champions League that weren't doing better in their own domestic league, clearly all the teams made it out the knockoit stage were among top 6 teams in their standing and guess who even won the Champions League, it was Manchester City and they went ahead to win treble after winning the FA cup. Domestic league performance matters but it can't be use as a benchmark in the group stage and also in the round of 16, this stages are sometimes luck due to late preparations by some teams or early preparations by teams people expected less performance.

There is no much data to and statistics for Sevilla and Arsenal but the emirate cup is enough to justify what they are going to play next. I'm not sure how prepare Saka injury is going to be but if we have Saka and Jesus starting that match like they did back then, they will quick finish Sevilla in the first half, been the host doesn't matter in this stage because Arsenal are better than them in all ramifications.

Sometimes we will be hypnotized if we judge the team's performance from the popularity in their domestic league, honestly what is in the champions league is something that can make us surprised from what we will see because those in the champions league are the best teams from their respective domestic leagues.

I don't really agree that every win in the group stages relies on luck, if I judge that I don't appreciate the hard work of the competing teams to get the win, although I also don't remove luck from being a factor in every particular moment of the match.

Regarding Sevilla against Arsenal, most people will think that Arsenal can easily beat Sevilla even though Saka from Arsenal is injured, but they still have many players who can be counted on to bring victory to Arsenal, but we need to see that Sevilla can hold Lens who beat Arsenal can be held to a draw until the end of the match, if Sevilla can play better against Arsenal in my opinion Sevilla can get a win, or Sevilla can hold back in this match against Arsenal to draw to secure it.

Arsenal been able to make it to the round of 16 or better called the Knock out stage is almost not in doubts, they don't have to win all four games to achieve this but they will have to win all four game if the want to finish as the first team in group B, but I think Arsenal may not get a win from all four remaining game even if they are all team which may not really look too strong enough against arsenal.

Sevilla and PSv would have to battle who will be left behind and not make it to the next round but lens and Arsenal are the most probable team to makes it to the next stage of the league, Arsenal Mey not really find it difficult with PSV and Sevilla but may find it hard with Lens as they have a strong mentality for the UCL and the current position I think is a great boost to their morale currently as they would want to strive not to go back after topping the group.
